Wymsey Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Seeing as we have 4 'main strikers', who do you think should be started from Kick-Off and who should come on as an 'impact' sub if required?* *Providing if we don't sign another striker
Ollie93 Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Personally I think it depends against the opposition, but very tough decision as they all have pros and cons!
LAprice_ Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Ulloa is a must start for me. Personally, I'd pick Kramaric ahead of Vardy but I'd expect it to vary As for Nugent, I think we need to be discussing whether he starts ahead of Mahrez or not because I think that's his position nowadays. It all goes down to who we are playing against to be honest, I'd happily start with any of them.
LCFC FOX Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Agreed Nugent should be fighting for Mahrez spot behind the strikers. I'd Personally go for Kramaric and Vardy first game.
NewquayFox Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Depends on the opposition, start all three if its Sunderland, Newcastle, Villa or one of the promoted sides..... Up the City....
benpicko Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Kram and Vardy up front, Mahrez behind them. Nugent can start anywhere in there if there are injuries
Guest ttfn Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Surely it massively depends on how well-adjusted Kramaric is in 2 months' time. Undoubtedly the best "footballer" of the 3 but looks like he has a bit to do physically.
Captain... Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Was that really the best thread title you could think of? I think we looked at our best last season with a fluid front 3, Nugent, Vardy and Ulloa, then Mahrez when Nuge got injured. There wasn't a defined position for each of them, Ulloa would go out wide, Nuge would pressure the defenders and Vardy would drop deeper, but there was an understanding that if one person was Harrying the defenders the others would drop deeper to cut off passing options, if one was lying deeper to receive the ball one would give him a wider easier option the other would give a more direct option, chip it over to Vardy/Nugent or hit it to Ulloa to hold up. Ulloa's height and end of season ability to hold the ball up was very important to allow that to work, but if he goes off the ball again we lose our ability to hold the ball up and it all falls apart, we struggle to retain possession and we end up under a lot of pressure. I would start Ulloa and Vardy and then one of Nuge, Mahrez or Kramaric but I really wouldn't know which one, I also think we need to look at how to play if Ulloa goes off the boil again as that was one of the key factors in our poor spell, Ulloa was just not able to hold the ball up, having 2 forward players around him probably helped after we changed formation, but there was a period where he was useless, the formation change would not account for him losing his touch completely.
4everfox Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Vardy is undroppable currently so he takes up one of the spots. I don't think Nugent's got a cat in hells chance of shifting either of those in the pecking order so he's out of the equation. Kramaric - Ulloa - Vardy Bring in Mahrez (home) or Nugent (away) for the tougher games in place of Kramaric. Mahrez/Nugent - Ulloa - Vardy
Kitchandro Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Can play 3 at times (did so against Swansea, West Ham & Man Utd last season, amongst our best performances). If we're going with 2, Ulloa and Vardy obviously worked well last season, I can't really justify dropping one of those two based on the back of last season, I'd like to see Krama involved more next season though, as I've maintained since he's been here that he's the best striker at the club (or will prove to be).
Frank to be Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Ulloa-Vardy would be my first choice atm. Ulloa just needs service. He was only poor when he wasn't getting any. Vardy was in undroppable form late season so if he keeps that up then he's well, undroppable. Nugent's a good back up/rotation option for either. Kramaric is the enigma. Not sure where he fits in right now but I can see him taking Vardy's spot on overall quality eventually.
Guest MattP Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Ulloa-Vardy No need to change anything from the back end of last season at the minute.
LCCFox96 Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Think Pearson will stick with the Ulloa and. Vardy combination for the opening few games at least, as it proved very successful during the run in. That is, of course, unless another striker of real quality comes in who would command a starting position.
Domsdad Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 For me it's Ulloa and Vardy to start with Mahrez playing "in the hole". Then depending on form/opposition, bring Kramaric in for any of the three.
GeorgeTheFox Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Can't say for sure. But it's great having the options if one of them isn't on form
foxfanazer Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Vardy and Ulloa Kramaric still has some work to do imo. Confident he'll be class soon
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Nugent and Wood. Party like its spring 2013.
MrSpaM Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Think Kram is just suffering from the same thing Vardy did when he first joined us, just needs a bit of time and a pre season and we'll see what he's all about
Swiper Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Since no one else has brought it up... what happens with this conversation if Shinji Okazaki is brought in?
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 I personally think we should have Vardy & Ulloa upfront together with Kramaric sat behind. You have pace, height & creativity will cause nightmares to defenders! I also think Kramaric in the number 10 role could have the same impact that Bojan was having at Stoke before his injury!
Silverdaz Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Wood and Hopper (to try and Thai the defenders down)
Guest Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Ulloa and Kramaric with Nuge in behind eventually, possibly Vardy at the beginning of the season before moving into super sub position.
