BenKimbo Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Would be disappointed with him looking at all of the options in front of us but I'm sure that come the first game of the season the players will want to win no matter who the manager is and I believe with the additions we have made and maybe another couple that whoever is in charge surely won't go out of his way to stop the players from playing at their best. No point being too negative as if we do get this guy we need to give him a go. Everybody and everything has to start somewhere.
Dan Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 I'd struggle to care for City with the current owners at the helm if we'd binned off one of our (let's be honest, modestly sized) club's best ever managers to have some no-mark take the gig. Even without blue tinted specs it's a hugely attractive job. A good, settled squad, fanbase, facilities, budget - all in one of the world's biggest leagues. The owners aren't short of a few quid and it's humiliating to see the bookies lists (I know they aren't indicative of the Thai's targets) of candidates. Pearson shouldn't have been sacked but this whole situation could be used as a springboard to bring in a really promising, exciting coach propell us to that 'next level' everyone raves about, which I assume is establishing ourselves in this division and playing some tidy stuff doing so. All the options we've been linked with are uninspiring and cheap. The worst thing about the rumours about this Sacramento ballbag is it's got that crusty old gooch Mandaric written all over it and the Thais (since rehiring Pearson in 2011) before last week had been the antithesis of what his reign was about. At the moment it's impossible not to feel like the club is regressing and no appointment has even been made yet. It's a bizarre feeling. If you'd have told me after Kramaric hit the fifth against QPR we'd be looking at a situation like this before July I'd have done a shit on your doorstep. Pretty much spot on. It's the Mandaric link that worries me. Could all be a co-incidence but is it beyond possibility that they've turned to him for advice?

The Railway Man Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Pretty much spot on. It's the Mandaric link that worries me. Could all be a co-incidence but is it beyond possibility that they've turned to him for advice? Imagine if they actually have? Herow Mandy, you gave a me Srousa and a Svern, have you anywrmore?
Jordan Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 I'd be "underwhelmed," but mostly, I'd be quite confused. It just wouldn't make sense that he would even apply for the Leicester manager job (unless he really misses life in England), let alone get it.
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 I for one thought Nige had had his day but this guy. Well has to be a joke. Reporting here in the U.S. he has a big job in the U.K. I pray not with us. Even I would rather see Pearson at the elm right now instead of this guy.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Not sure if getting rid of the owners is that clever, Don't wish etc. As the question is what would react if he was manager, no alternative than to give him a chance if the interests of the club are at heart A lot depends on who is at the club with him. Does seem an odd one though if it happens.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Had to Google him. Not many jobs available at the highest level of the game........ Only guy at Leic who's judgement I have always trusted is Steve Walsh, long shot. BREAKING: Head Coach Preki to accept new position in the UK, will coach his last Republic FC match on July 11. English football manager Paul Buckle will lead as the club’s new head coach. “Republic FC has been one of the best experiences in my entire career,” said Head Coach Preki. “This was not a decision I made lightly. The opportunity ahead is a lifetime dream for me and a chance to challenge myself at the highest level of the game.” We wish Preki the best of luck and look forward to continuing to maintaining our relationship and friendship with Preki.
Leicester_Numan Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 I think we're headed towards a head coach role with the board/owners being in charge of transfers. That is worrying enough but to have a total unknown in charge is even more so. I'd be hugely disappointed but I'd give him a chance, after all, Pearson was pretty much a managerial unknown when he came here and there's always a chance it might work out. I think I'd be more confident that it wouldn't though.
Foxhateram Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 I just can't fathom why we would sack someone who has brought us so much success in favour of some guy who has no experience in England no matter the premier league. Most of this guys experience is in a America where they can't even play football. He will have no contacts and very little connections for us to utilise. I just can't understand this in my head.
Guest Foxin_mad Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 If this is true the owners can take King Power and **** off back to Thailand. Id rather be bankrupt in the conference than have some no mark from MLS at the club. Nobody is bigger/more important than LCFC Including the Thais who ironically everyone seem to be rimming!
weller54 Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 The basis for my post Pearson optimism was largely on the basis that i believe Hiddink or Ranieri would improve the club, ofthat im almost certain. But Preki? If we are banding about fees of 10 mil plus for players, im sure we could nab a manager in work. And one that would come with a decent list of credentials. This guy could be the next Christian Gross or Alain Perrin. But worse. Mr Bean !!
Saxondale Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Things are looking shit - I'm actually now desperately upset we didn't appoint Allardyce.
crisp packet Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Was hoping to wake up and this be gone ? REALLY?!?! I'll just call him p*** Wording isn't strong enough in this poll voted disappointed not even slightly how I feel...
eunmac Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Owners have indicated they wanted a big name manager with experience. This is a complete contradiction. Choosing to ignore this whole story and go kid myself it's part of some deal to bring Klopp here.
Sunbury Fox Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 I feel physically sick about this. I truly feel that we should protest strongly against his appointment. We are doomed to relegation if this happens. A complete joke.

Most of this guys experience is in a America where they can't even play football. He will have no contacts and very little connections for us to utilise. I just can't understand this in my head. Worse than that, he's not even been successful there! It's like when Leeds appointed that guy who'd just been sacked by Forest Green Rovers!
lcfcbobby Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Im very disappointed to be perfectly honest not the fact of replacing pearson (if the roumors are true abouf his sacking being due to his attitude and his actions) with him but after the owners been saying they wanted a big name then go for a complete unknown!
lgfualol Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 It would make me just lose faith in the club and really go against the owners. I would fully expect them to do a Vincent Tan next. All pearson's hardwork undone.
justfoxes Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 OMFG I do hope it's a joke from the few who voted to get the owners out For Fooks sake have you so easily forgotten what they have done for us in the past ? Well if it isn't a joke from the few you can go fook off and support someone else as surely you can't be a true foxes fan!! Have a little Faith FFS all this doom and gloom is pathetic can't you see the papers have nothing so they bring up news like this and being like Vincent tan is an insult to Vichai and Top people on here have truly forgotten how good our owners are so what the y sacked Pearson one of our greatest (but total fruit bat ) managers of our time but thank you Nigel and let's go forward no ! And they have taken our club from a championship to a premier league side not only paid off all our debts bought the stadium back but also ploughed in Millions to buy players and will continue too. And all the ones who want to demonstrate send your season tickets back because I'm sure the true fans who missed out on a season ticket will be pleased to get one ! Get a life and let the process of finding a new manager carry on and yes we will be linked with all weird and wonderful candidates but there's one thing sure if I trust Vichai top and the rest who will choose persons predecessor lets just give it up the Pearson Era has finished thank you and good by now let the new era role on as always said before it's not always easy being a Leicester fan it should come with a health warning !
Wortho Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 As someone said all Pearson's work has been undone. I'd rather have Dave Bassett and Dennis Wise. I imagine all the other supporters will viewing with great hilarity. And it took ten years to get back to the Premier!!
Shipman Out Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 The only good thing Preki, has ever done. Fact. Was playing down the right flank for me on Sensible World of Soccer, bought him everytime very tricky, put in some superb displays, curling them in from all angles. Shite manager though, but good as an 8-bit balloon head.
The Doctor Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 I'd think the owners were a bit of a bunch of prekis. This needs a slow decline into madness to be remotely understandable, and even then it's riddled with questions. Seriously, if we're going for someone with no evidence they can hack management, can we at least go with someone lovable like superpippo.
ramboacdc Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 honestly? i don't know what i would do. it would take a few days for the shock to wear off.
