They don't mean anything - they're effectively last season's numbers. The numbers don't get decided until the season's about to start. Makes sense to wait until the last moment with all the transfers going on.

Then the fan had the audacity to complain about it. It's his own fault for going along with it despite this season's not being revealed at the time.

I am hoping that he is taking the number from the departing GTF (it's my lucky number and I want it on my shirt). The club shop is still showing him up as 40. Do you reckon there is anything in the vest or am I reading too far into it?

Fuchs looks to be number 6, Schwarzer is 25 and Okazaki is 20 if the training kits are anything to go by.

All clubs will submit their lists nearer the start of the season.

Rob1742 Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 The squad numbers won't be confirmed for a couple of weeks. The only one I know is Shluppy will be 15 as I asked him if he keeping his old number. However, I am now regretting putting him on my sons shirt just incase he changes his mind between the end of last season and now.
Staffs Fox Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 I don't think you can put any name on any shirt until the season starts for two reasons, a) Existing players might change their number, this is quite unlikely because our 1-11 our filled and why would a player change from another squad number not to be 1-11 other than superstition? b) most likely is, we've now got a brand new manager who is completely different to the last. Come 31st August we could have a radically different squad list. For example, get Vardy on the back but Ranieri isn't a fan and would rather play Okazaki and Kramaric, out goes Vardy for a great profit but your shirt is out of date before it's begun. Same for every single player in the squad. Morgan, Mahrez, Albrighton, Schlupp, Kramaric etc any player who is likely to be on a fans shirt could easily be gone by the end of August

I would say that it's a good indication of the upcoming seasons numbers.
