So pissed off I am. Went away to Barcelona, lost Marchisio the day before*, was comfortably the better side in the first half and lead the game 0-1, Barcelona playing a 4-4-1-1 with Neymar and Messi as wide midfielders (lol) eventually wore us down, Suarez being the best player on the park, they went 2-1 up and then ended up getting a penalty in stoppage time, smashed home for a hat-trick for Suarez and pretty much the killer blow in my eyes. I'd seen enough to convince me I could've turned around a 2-1, 3-1's too much and it's another year of unfulfilment.

* Ricey, is there something in the game that causes this? It's absolutely unreal how many times I get injuries just before a big game.

Hold on a sec I think I've just dodged my way to the CL final.  Scraped a 2-1 at home vs PSG in the first leg then lost the return trip 2-1.  After extra time it was 3-2 to PSG, so 4-4 on aggregate with the dreaded penalty shoot-out looming... only instead of penalties it went straight to the post-match team talk and said I'd won on away goals. lol

well you scored 2 goals away from home....they scored 1. so you would win on away goals.

You realise you're complaining about losing to the best side at the start of the game... ?

I thought that only counted in normal time though?

We are a good team to play as on this.  First the £30m boost sometime before the second January transfer window, now I've just been told we're chucking another 9000 seats in lol

no they count in extra time too.

i cant remember the tournament where away goals only count after extra time. i want to say the capital one cup but i know thats wrong.

Wayne Rooney in management in Jan 2021.

Hull.

:revenge:  :revenge:  :revenge:

Love stuff like this. Had Paul Konchesky come up against me in the cup in the past - as manager of Torquay!

Still in my first season, got two fixtures left... I was 6th looking to get into Europe (smashed Swansea 5-2 and they are 5th), was literally 2 points behind Swansea after beating them but my run of fixtures is Chelsea A (lost), Palace A (lost), Manchester United H (drew); Arsenal A (lost); Liverpool H; Villa A.

lol No chance now. Still, top 8 is alright I guess. Way above expectation anyway.

Started my third season with 5 wins in a row, thinking I've finally turned a corner after an inconsistent previous season......nope, Ranocchia out for 12 months with a cruciate injury and now my top scorer out for 7 months with a broken leg. FVCK YOU FM, FVCK YOU!

top 8 aint too bad as long as the FA cup finalists are both already in the champions league.

Anyone know how to persuade a player to stay and sign a new contract?

One of my best players, only 22 and a key CB. Played pretty much every game and because I rejected an offer in January he became unhappy. Come to the end of the season and I've only just noticed his contract is about to expire. Really don't want to lose him as I've just been promoted and it will be a massive blow to lose money on him too! But he's not interested in signing a new contract as he's currently unhappy at the club :(

It's just infuriating because at 2-1 I'd have probably fancied us to turn the tie around. Wasted too many chances again.

Barcelona aren't THAT great under Low either. Messi and Neymar as actual wide midfielders?

Resigned from Fylde after losing in the League two play offs. Taken over Bolton who have had 4 successive relegations into the Conference North! Haha. First 2 or 3 seasons should be easy and help get my reputation up. All the debt has gone now thankfully so I should have the biggest budget in the leagues.

It's like a low budget Real Madrid/Man City save now.

Just keep playing him. I've had one or two players who want to leave for a bigger club, so I just play them a bit more back to back, get a few decent results, then offer a contract again and they are willing to discuss.

I've got a young lad who i've been using sparingly whilst he develops before throwing him in as my first choice RB. Only just noticed he's got 10 months left on his contract and now he says he wants to leave on a Bosman as he's not getting enough game time and won't negotiate with me.

Is there anyway I can change his mind or is he definitely going on a free?

Basically as has been said above you've got up to 10 months to give him regular starts and keep his morale up.  Praise him when he has a good game or if he makes good progress in training. If his form's bad, telling him to start performing better if he wants regular first team football usually knocks morale up a bit too.  If he's really decent then chances are teams will try to tie him down once he has 6 months left on his contract so you've not got long to turn it around.

On a similar not I've had Vardy whining on and off about contract this and game time that (sorry James but when Kramaric is knocking in a goal every 67 minutes you're going to find it hard to get in the starting 11) ever since I started the game.  They've made him a right prima donna.

I sacked Vardy off very early. He just couldn't seem to score, whereas Krama can be an absolute machine (though he's now fallen behind Lucas Pratto). I took less than I should have for Vardy, and shipped him off for about £4million, followed by Okazaki for £5.5million. You can pick up far better players for that money. Harnik on a free was a nice bit of business.
