Signed Embolo straight away 12 games in he hasn't had a shot on target let alone a goal, the fans have called the signing an Abberation. What the **** am I doing wrong.

If I play as a better team, I lose. If I play as a worser team, I lose. I make us more attacking when we are the better team and expected to win, and more counter attacking when we are the worser team. Anyone able to tell me how to actually get some wins? So it's bearable.

Probably need a change of scenery from the big 4 league systems (Spain, England, Italy and Germany) - where's good to go without having all those ridiculous match day squad restrictions like in some of the eastern europe leagues?

Carl the Llama Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 FM's always been really frustrating when you aren't winning and it's not immediately apparent what the game's determined you're doing wrong. In FM 12 for instance, after essentially throwing a tantrum and playing silly buggers with my tactics I ended up discovering the best thing to do when you aren't doing well is to sod off tactics altogether and just stick 3 strong and athletic CMs with basic duties behind 3 poachers and keep lumping it up to them (I pretty much broke the game with this 'tactic'). Speaking of not understanding why something doesn't work - why does this game hate IFs? I can't get Mahrez or Khazri to score playing as IFs on either side of a wide 4-2-3-1 but my winger options in the same formation (Albrighton and Kakuta) are banging them in for fun.

Not too dissimilar from the previous version, but a few aesthetic tweaks to tidy it up a bit. Had to revert to the previous match engine too, so the commentary only match option actually runs quickly. Cracking first season though, finished 3rd! I played a lot of the season with 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1 but for the last push, switched to the formation above and won 6 of the last 8 I think. ramboacdc Posted 7 December 2015 Posted 7 December 2015 gave up trying to get kegworth out of the VNL. may start it again with the formation that did me good one day. went for a Leicester save. got told to steer clear of relegation. done that by march when sitting 7th with 53 points. got knocked out of the cap one cup by wolves (embarrassing) but into the semis of the FA cup and the board love me! so much so they had offered me a new contract by January! nice new 3 year deal. Kram and Shinji arguing over top goalscorer in the prem on 24 each. highlights include only arsenal doing the domestic double over me and having 7 games left to try and get europa league (ive gave up on top 4. we got into januray having lost just 2 games now in march we have lost 5.) also bought Michu...don't buy michu.
Dan Posted 8 December 2015 Author Posted 8 December 2015 Completely fell victim to the new CL seeding, which now guarantees at least one of Real Madrid or Barcelona will be in pot two, which meant Bayern Munich could be in a group with one of them, which has meant that despite me absolutely ruining my group, I've ran into Barcelona in the round of 16. Don't think it's beyond me to actually win though. Finally clicked.

Helps that they increased my weekely wage budget from 20k to 60k, though I'm only spending 30k a week. My scouts are pretty boss, finding me a load of decent free agents and loan targets.
ramboacdc Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 finished 7th in the league with leicester. lost to man u in the FA cup final but still got group stages of europa league with league position and stuff going my way. offered the vacant man u job as LVG retired, declined it, 20M bid for mahrez from PSG , declined, he went apeshit and demanded to leave. 43M for Kramaric (who won youth player of the year) from spurs, declined, went apeshit, calmed him down. 8M bid for inler from chelsea, declined, again..apeshit, calmed him down. bought dyer for 8m, used all my transfer budget on him. expected to finish 8th. realised no matter what i put as my targets i got no more transfer money, so just put it at the minimum, balanced the wage bill and now bargin hunting. got the best coaching staff in the league now too. only bad news is i have been told when shinji's new contract expires in 2019, his work permit won't allow him to play. so gotta find a way out of that. sold michu, sold simpson.
Darkon84 Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Getting pretty annoyed with this in my second season. Got drawn with PSG, Sevilla and Sporting in my Champions league group. I though I may have had a chance of squeezing second, but nope, my entire squad has been ravaged by injuries, over and over. I've had to play from October to January with De Laet and Schlupp as centre backs due to injuries, as well as most of my midfield. It's been a nightmare, but still holding on in around 8th in the Prem, picking up no end of draws. Hopefully I can bring in some loans in January now to get me in to the European places again. Injuries: Ranocchia Kirchoff Benalouane (or if fit he's banned) Amartey Gago Kante James Durm EDIT: Fvck sake, I get through January, bring in a couple of players so I can adopt a better system (Mirallas, Herrera, Kiulibaly, Asensio). Things start going well with 5 wins on the bounce, then uh oh, the game realises it can't give me a free ride and immediately injures or has my players sent off all over again. Yea thanks you piece of shit! On another note though, it's 2017 and Forest have been relegated from the Champ with 6 games to go

Carl the Llama Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Don't buy Jack Wilshere if the opportunity arises. Saw he was listed and thought "great, someone who can provide competition with Lodeiro for that AM spot". Ever since he signed Lodeiro's form has dropped from low-7's to mid-6's and Wilshere isn't even performing to compensate for it so now to keep results ticking over I'm forced to turn my 4-2-3-1 into a 4-2-4 and leave 2 of my ostensibly best players rotting in the U21s until they find their form again or need to be rotated in.
