Tuna Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Junior Billong @TrransferNews 6h6 hours ago Just spoken to my source inside @LCFC and he has confirmed Mario Balotelli will be a Leicester City footballer in the next few days. #LCFC https://twitter.com/TrransferNews
EGBFitness Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Usually those kind of deals are instigated from the sponsor who are paying insane sums such as adidas letting United know they want a German player signed for them, lo and behold Schweinsteiger. I know what you mean, I'm not suggesting that this may be the case but you never know? Like you put it, sponsors have been known to push some sales, I'm not sure how much Mario gets paid from Puma but I'm guessing he gets a good amount from them. They don't want to see a player they pay so much for playing for Liverpool reserves.

VLC86 Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Is his source from inside the canteen Hope so, the changing rooms would be a strange place for ketchup.
Foxhateram Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Good hard working consistent player who works for the team and is fantastic for team spirit in the changing room, out. Idiot with an attitude problem and a few poor seasons in recent years, in, not to mention the wage demands and the change in team spirit he will cause. Good business Claudio.

On the plus side, he will fit in well after causing offence through ignorant racist comments/tweets though.

Have you ever been happy with any decision the club makes. I can't seem to find a positive post from you

EGBFitness Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 You have a point, he does have an endorsement deal with Puma, who make the Italian NT shirts. Haha thank you. I'm not saying that it might be the case but definitely worth considering? Would be interesting to know how much Puma make through Mario with Italy shirts, 9 times out of 10 when I've seen a puma shirt it has had Mario on the back. This would be good business for Puma but also for Leicester if the case especially if we sign him just on a loan & Liverpool pay high percentage of his wages. Didn't Real Madrid recoup all the business made from purchasing Beckham through shirt sales?

Contracts are different in Spain The clubs buy the rights to the players which means they make a fortune from this sort of thing, pretty sure it isnt the same over here.
whoareyaaa Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 tough one this is on one hand he is a quality footballer and is still pretty young and his record isn't the worst, on the other hand he has is head up his arse and is a nightmare to manage?
Rusko187 Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Heart says yes... Head says no, he's been with plenty of coaches who can effectively manage players with egos or trouble makers and they all give up on him. Undeniably he is one hell of a player on his day but he WILL cause unrest amongst the rest of the squad!

I'm not completely how it works in Spain but like I said it was just a thought knowing how sponsorships can dictate football dealings
STUHILL Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Who would have thought at the end of last season, that we would sack Pearson and potentially be trying to sign Balotelli... This guy is a serious nutjob but he is extremely talented. A move to a lower club to prove a point as no other top clubs will take him, could finally be the kick up the arse he needs... I would take him on season long loan and see what he does. Send him back if he pisses about like we did with Powell. Not sure it will help the morale of players like Ulloa and Kramaric though. Anyway, extremely unlikely so no point over-thinking it!
Wymsey Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Have we ever had 'silly' players - either on or off the pitch, like Ballotelli? Can only think of DJ Campbell and Levi Porter.
Dan Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 I'd have agreed with these "take a punt for a last chance" a few years ago but how many 'last chances' does he need? Liverpool would be the fourth club to sell him already. I've no bitterness towards him. If he came here and made something for himself I'd be delighted but I don't see it happening. It doesn't keep happening by chance. He's far too hit and miss with his playing style.
Ozwin Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Was it Euro 2012 where he had an absolute stormer? I'd take that Mario any day of the week, on his day he's unplayable.
