Countryfox Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 This is accurate, I was finding someone a new job recently and she put her search on hold as her partner is part of the backroom staff. As soon as Pearson gets a new job she will be relocating with her partner to wherever that new location may be. They all know what's going to happen that's why CR has his people in place and they are currently desk sharing ... How much we will miss them and how good the "new boys" are we will find out in time ..... Maybe it will turn out to be yet another step up for us and the newbies will help take us to a new and higher level .... Have we now outgrown Nige and maybe the same could be true for them
lcfcsnow Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 Sounds like a come and get me plea, absolutely no chance he will manage abroad it would get in the way of his family life in Sheffield which is more important than any job. His next club will be in the top two English leagues and a few hours at best away on the train from his home.
inckley fox Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 It was noted at the time that Pearson had no public presence when we signed Fuchs and Okazaki, Shakespeare did all the talking. It was also the close season so other than signings there was no "football operations" running. The bookies also seemed to know something was up, so it's not as if things were carrying on as normal. It seems most likely to me that Pearson was told, or perhaps decided himself, that he was to step back in the run up to the sacking. So to suggest he was sacked out of nowhere is probably wrong and certainly doesn't justify calling the owners "two faced". I think the sacked over the phone story came from the mirror, if that's your idea of reputable journalism then I'm sure you can guess what I make of that. Â It's the case with Okazaki more than Fuchs. Fuchs said it was a conversation with the manager (Pearson, of course) which persuaded him to sign. Huth was signed after that, if I remember correctly, which would make more sense if Pearson was still in charge, seeing as he'd loaned and consistently selected him for the past five months. I can't comment on Okazaki, other than that we were pursuing him while Pearson was manager. If Pearson hadn't wanted him and it was always a 'board signing' then some might consider that a major criticism of the board. If he had wanted him then it would be further evidence of his being in charge until the last few days. I suppose it's either one or the other.
inckley fox Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 Loved Pearson. . Loved m.o.n. Both long gone...... All very boring really ? Zzzzz  It's not long gone though, that's the reason people still wish to discuss it. We were debating Martin Allen, Sol Bamba, Jermaine Beckford for long after they'd left, it's ever likely that we'll wish to do the same for one of our most important managers, whose team we still largely play, whose backroom staff still predominantly run the club and to whom we owe our current PL status. As we learn more about how he came to leave - we presently know next to nothing - people will sensibly wish to discuss it even more. If the threads are locked, then they'll log off Foxestalk and discuss it somewhere else. It's inevitable, and it's a good thing because it means something positive happened to our club and we want to talk about it.  I don't see anything boring in discussing Martin O'Neill era either. I've enjoyed the Muzzy Izzet pieces in the press and get plenty of happiness from looking back to the time they spent together at the club. It's the eight years between O'Neill and Pearson that bore and depress me, or the 15 month holiday Pearson spent at Hull. And there are probably still a few lessons some people - not yourself of course - could learn from those between-times.
Unabomber Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 Wow even when Pearson speaks it makes the news what an absolute hero.
FireFox Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 Don't want to get into a racism debate... but... It isn't hard to argue that James was racist despite not making any racist remarks. Â I haven't seen the whole video, but from what I gather, all three of them were being quite disrespectful toward the Thai women. If the three had hired prostitutes in England or Las Vegas, would they have been so disrespectful? Maybe that is in part to the language barrier, but the owners could argue that James and the other two disrespected the Thai women to such an extent because of a culture/view toward Thai prostitution from Westerners and that then their actions (including distributing a video of their "lad antics" while in Thailand) were racist.

Was lucky enough to run into MON last year and at the end of a brief chat asked if he would ever consider coming back and he said never say never cus he loved the club ...... Mentioned that in another relevant thread and got a right blasting ... Sorry, just wanted to get that one off my chest !

wokinghamfox Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 I would still have him in charge over CR.
FoxInTheBirstallBox Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 Thankyou for the legacy you have left Nige. Will always have respect for him, did what he wanted and didnt bow down to people, I like that
Pasty1 Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 Walsh embracing CR at the end of the Villa game today..... Â Â Shaky and Walshy ain't going nowhere!!!

NewburyFox Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 It all depends how loyal Walsh and Shakespeare are to Nigel. He'll probably take over a Championship club (Sheff W would be my guess) over the next couple of months and I'm sure he'll want them to join. But it will inevitably be a step down for them in terms of personal salary, club position, the available budget and scouting reach, the ability of the playing squad, the club's facilities and the club potential. Â Will they really be willing to give all that up to be with Nige again?

Countryfox Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 Bit like Data on Star Trek ...... Or The Book Worm on Batman ..... I'm impressed
lgfualol Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 I don't think we'll lose anyone if Pearson takes over another club unless it is a very decent club with a good set-up. Most likely it will be a Championship team and who honestly wants to go from Premier League to Championship.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 I tend not to like it when people accuse others of 'not being real fans' but it's hard to reach any other conclusion when people say things like this.  It just smacked of someone who can't believe it's possible to like both Pearson and Ranieri and that you always have to hate somone or love someone else. Not always the case.  The most interesting part of that for me was:  “I’ve had time to reflect, including areas in which I could improve. When you come to the end of a chapter, you look at what happened, but you have got to move on."  I always said at the time we were going through our bad run that I felt it might take for Pearson to have some time to look back on the season (having been sacked or over the summer break) - to look objectively on what he and the team had done. I felt at times he was too immersed in it all and that had clouded his judgement sometimes (some of his tactics post-United up to March) and that was sometimes what led to the bizarre antics.  Now he's had this time to reflect he'll be a much-changed manager in his media approach I think and a much stronger manager overall.  His next club gets one hell of a manager.
Donut Posted 13 September 2015 Posted 13 September 2015 So people think all the staff here who are part of a vibrant club who are 2nd in the Premier League under a forward thinking, progressive manager playing in front of packed crowds of 32,000 each home game with fantastic financial backing, are going to jack this in to go to some Championship club in absolute disarray who have just sacked their manager, probably dont have a pot to piss in, will most likely get paid less and if it all goes wrong will be out of a job  JUST so they can work with some ex pal who got sacked. Â
