Pearson speaks.

But he was signing players and running football operations long after the season was finished, and according to numerous reputable journalists he was sacked over the phone. I'm not sure why you'd even bother refuting that unless you're still clinging on to this 'Cambiasso did it' bollocks.

It was noted at the time that Pearson had no public presence when we signed Fuchs and Okazaki, Shakespeare did all the talking. It was also the close season so other than signings there was no "football operations" running. The bookies also seemed to know something was up, so it's not as if things were carrying on as normal. It seems most likely to me that Pearson was told, or perhaps decided himself, that he was to step back in the run up to the sacking. So to suggest he was sacked out of nowhere is probably wrong and certainly doesn't justify calling the owners "two faced".

I think the sacked over the phone story came from the mirror, if that's your idea of reputable journalism then I'm sure you can guess what I make of that.

True, but it was reported in this article by the independent I've linked to below which is a damn site more evidence than you've got to some of the rubbish you've been spouting, including but not limited to that the reins of the football operations at the club was taken from Nige and handed to some secret syndicate behind the scenes.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/nigel-pearson-sacked-by-telephone-with-no-prior-warning-from-leicester-10357386.html

"According to reports", reports which came from the mirror.

Even if they did sack him over the phone, personally I don't really care. They weren't breaking up with a girlfriend. The telephone is a perfectly reasonable method of communication for work matters.

Possible jobs for him are. West brom (but cant see them sacking pulis any time soon) Sunderland, newcastle, middlesborough

But its with a heavy heart i have to say Leicester wont be on that list  :nono:

I would be absolutely amazed if any premier league club comes in for Pearson, after some of his antics last season.

Also lets not forget that it took him 29 games and the realisation that we were staring relegation squarely in the face, for him to actually let the team off the leash, and play to our strengths, and try to win a game, rather than stay in a game.

What he achieved at our club should be applauded, and he rightly can claim alot of credit for assembling the majority of the current squad, but it seems there is a reluctance, more especially in the media, but also with some of our fans to give Ranieri any credit at all for the start we have made, which in my opinion is wrong.

I agree about CR ... and so does Mahrez

Don't you think if Pearson was so great he would be back working now???

And his son?

It's September, there's been 5 weeks since the season started and there were no vacancies elsewhere when he left us. Not even the greatest manager would be back in by now. October/November sort of time when the sackings get started? Sure - and I expect he'll be into the next championship vacancy.

I'm sure the full story of what happened will eventually rear it's - likely ugly - head. I loved Pearson, his years at the helm were the most exciting I've ever experienced at the club. I will always applaud him when our paths cross again. It is a shame it ended the way it did but it's done.

Ranieri has come in and so far has delivered the goods. He's continued Pearson's philosophy and legacy in undefeated (long live it) fashion and has appeased most fan's scepticism with some good performances. That was all done with the Pearson/Thai issue swept under the carpet immediately after his appointment and containing a more muted outcry from the fans after the initial sacking. It doesn't take a genius to work out that Pearson's departure was a mired time for the club so I don't see how revealing any more details and enduring the media shit storm that follows will do the club any good whatsoever. It should stay underwraps until Pearson retires. The club and the fans have seemingly got what they want; a good manager who plays the football that suits the squad and a continuation of results. There is no need to drag old business back into. How can more media talk be good?  Don't air your dirty washing in public and all that.

Don't be a moron. He will be back when an appointment arrises that suits him true to his own style of working.

What an absolutely stupid thing to say. What is he supposed to do, write to chairmen offering to take over from the current manager?

****ing fun 30 mins though , beats waiting for the freebview on the adult channel :)

Beats is the key word.

Wow.

I can assure you, there will be many chairman and fans looking at the availability of Pearson at the moment.

So many entrenched opinions based on bugger all facts.

There's been an amazing about turn from some on here. When the rimgate story first broke 99% of people on here were demanding instant dismissal of all 3 of the players. Now it's James Pearson (who nobody had a good word to say about him while he was our player) never actually said anything racist, he shouldn't have been sacked.

He didn't say anything racist as far as we know. You can say that and still think he deserved to be sacked for what he did do.

Who has said he shouldn't have been sacked? Pearson Jr didn't say anything racist, there's no real debate around that - Hopper was the one using the racist terms, doesn't mean he shouldn't have been sacked - he should have been, but for gross misconduct (since taking part in an orgy with locals while on club business must qualify as that).

What Pearson has done for this club is remarkable. From being at one of our lowest in League One to then looking like an established PL side is incredible.

I was gutted Pearson got the sack but there's more behind it than we all know surely? If it wasn't for his son then no doubt he would still be in the job now.

I'll always have a soft spot for Nigel. Thanks again for everything he has done for LCFC. I wish him all the best in the future. There will be plenty of sides looking at him.

The implication is than Nige was only defending his son, who wasn't a racist.

It all depends about how he defended his son. I'd be surprised if it was just a polite protest.

Whether he was or not, they were all in the wrong in the first place for putting the video out there for people to see, so they all deserved the sack anyway.

Obviously the owners saw this as the last straw for Pearson. After all the controversy throughout the season, the owners must have thought this to be an easier desicion to sack him after defending his son.

As soon as Pearson gets another job Shakespeare, Walsh, Philips and the rest of the back room staff he assembled will go wherever he goes. Someone who works closely at the club told me that.

He still speaks to Shakespeare regularly.

That's when we will be well and truly fu*ked

All fairly innocuous stuff. Fair play for having a bit of dignity in his handling of the situation and understandable that he'd stand by his son. One can only speculate that Pearson's way of backing his lad behind closed doors was the final straw for the owners.

Wish him luck in his next job - until he's up against us. We've moved on and it looks like Nige has too.

This is accurate, I was finding someone a new job recently and she put her search on hold as her partner is part of the backroom staff. As soon as Pearson gets a new job she will be relocating with her partner to wherever that new location may be.
