Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 May 2016 Posted 26 May 2016 Said it before and I'll say it again but I really don't get Catfish and the Bottlemen. The blandest band I've ever seen such hype about.
Fox92 Posted 26 May 2016 Posted 26 May 2016 Said it before and I'll say it again but I really don't get Catfish and the Bottlemen. The blandest band I've ever seen such hype about. I'm not big into them. Like they're alright. Pisses me off when their fans (who are obviously really into them) compare them to the likes of Arctics, Libs, Strokes etc because they are bands that have done it consistently and had more than one good album. Still excited for their album tomorrow though because The Balcony was good as a debut album.
purpleronnie Posted 26 May 2016 Posted 26 May 2016 Have to admit I've never heard anything catfish have done but there does seem a gluttony of 'indie' bands who have nothing to say Miquels comments make me think they're amongst that ever growing group.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Chance the Rapper's new album is great, as is Modern Baseball's. Ellery Roberts from WU LYF bought out an album last month too under the band name LUH and that's very decent as well. Very different from start to finish. Also this is superb, it's like a little throwback to early noughties Neptunes.
ScouseFox Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 gave chance's a run through at the weekend. wasn't feeling it massively but gonna revisit shortly.
hairy Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 New Avalanches sounds disappointing but hopefully the album will be better

The Doctor Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Rammstein taking their first new song in 7 years out on tour with them: Great stuff - hopefully means a new album as well.
FireFox Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Finally got around to listening to The Kills new album Ash & Ice. A solid 50 minutes.

filbertway Posted 2 July 2016 Posted 2 July 2016 Didn't even know blink-182 had another album out. Minus Tom De Longe again Yeah I happened upon it by accident on spotify. Took a while to get used to the new voice but quite enjoyed it after a few listens.
Alf Bentley Posted 2 July 2016 Posted 2 July 2016 The first Brexit song? New from the mighty Mekons (who have been around long enough to have been part of the original "Rock against Racism" in the late 70s).....

purpleronnie Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 As far as new bands I will be hoping for more releases from sheer mag The big moon (think palma violets but chicks) And Priestess - a bit like a dance version of siouxsie and the banshees.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 I've seen Public Access TV live, they're great - like circa waves but not as forgettable
brockmyster Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Blossoms album is just class, as was expected to be honest
