fuchsntf Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 We are going to be last years Chelsea...with 1 exception, losing 2 games.
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 I imagine we'll end up 8/9th, but we can all dream!
Donut Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 To be honest, from what ive watched this season of us, and from what ive watch from the Europa League contenders as well, i dont think there is any gap in quality really between us and a West Ham, or Southampton to give two examples. We may even be better than those two legitimately. Europe would be a tall order. If you consider Man City, Arsenal and Man Utd will finish 1-3 in some kind of order, youll also have Chelsea who will surely improve (will they?), a rejuvenated Liverpool under Klopp and likely Spurs to contend with who will be jostling for fourth spot and the Europa positions below them when you add in West Ham, Southampton, ourselves into the mix. So it will be tough. But lets not lose sight of the fact that even if we didnt qualify for Europe and finished say 9th or 8th, i think we can all agree that would be a pretty unbelieveable season really.
Great Boos Up Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 In reality that dream could become a nightmare. We don't have a second 11 that can compete at a high level and won't have the time or opportunity to buy and bed them in. So next season we would be in Europa and a possible league cup run. Three games a week with all players in the red zone and a dozen injuries. Scary!

I'm sick of people talking about Europe like its a hindrance.
Stuntman_Mike Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 People are getting far too carried away too soon. By all means dream of it, but there is a long, long way to go. I'd be very surprised if come May we finished above Everton, Southampton, Liverpool, Spurs, City, United, Arsenal or Chelsea.

Captain... Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 We can dream, but as long as we go into the next game at Watford wide awake and with our feet on the ground. We can't let talk of Europe or anything else distract us from priority 1 which is survival, which is why Ranieri constantly brings it up. We are playing at such a high level with so much energy and effort if we let that stop against anyone in the league we will be punished.

Captain... Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 But the thread is "Dare we dream about Europe?" And I said we can. It goes for the fans as well as the players, we can dream and speculate, but we can't judge this season as a disappointment if we drop off a little and finish 10th or below.
car1os Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Where we finish this season will depend on our key players staying fit for most (if not all) of the season. Just watched MOTD2 and they were talking about how many of City's players are playing well individually but they also credited how good we were as a unit and how our style of play allows us to get the best out of Vardy, glad to see they agree with me! I think we'll finish 8th-9th and just miss out on Europe, but I'll still be happy with that.
Foxhateram Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 I don't think we have the strength in depth to make it this year. Even if we did we would really struggle next season to juggle europe and all the British football requirements. But it would be amazing to see us try.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 If we can have the belief in ourselves as a club, team and fans I don't see why we can't make Europe. If we continue to do what were good at, I think it's a possibility. I'd be pleased with comfortable survival as well though.
kyleolly Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 i think we have a great deal of depth in the squad the swiss international captain can't even get on the pitch we will finish 5th.
Izzy Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Look up mate, to the last post. I'm not saying I think we will..I'm asking for opinion. Come on then Col. We've all said what WE think, but what do YOU think mate?
Crinklyfox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 We haven't had a sticky month yet and many teams have at least one per season. Last year Southampton were looking really good for Europe then faded at the end. Maybe we'll just keep on the crest of a wave but it's more likely that we'll ship points at some time and slide down the table. I'd love to see City in Europe but we're in a building process. At present we're doing really well in establishing ourselves as a significant PL side, and once we've done that we'll be able to attract better players. Of course if we make Europe this year that will short cut the process but I'd be content to see us grow into a 'big' club. I'd like to see City in five years time as a club that would be expected to be challenging for European places, not one that's fighting to stave off relegation. Onwards and upwards.

bovril Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 We can dream. With this back 5 though it's just a dream. If we are still around the top 5 / 6 in the new year and can sign some quality defenders / goalkeeper, we may just have a chance if everyone keeps fit.
filbertstreet Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 You've watched MOTD2 already?!? : P What's the score in the game later? I want to put some money on it. 3-1 Southampton, another Bournemouth player gets injured
Guest Col city fan Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Come on then Col. We've all said what WE think, but what do YOU think mate? I really dunno mate. Heart says 6th Head says 8th or 9th. So I'm going for 7th...which would be amazing. Injury either to Vardy, Kante or Mahrez though and lower that considerably I think.
