Dare we (takes a deep breath) dream about Europe?

I think this is different, Southampton were an unknown quantity with loads of new signings that caught people by surprise , once teams had seen them play and understood what they were about they struggled. We are pretty much the same players as last season and teams know our threat, we are just too good and they can't cope with Vardy and Mahrez

Way too early to judge - we may start dreaming of Europe once we've been through our heavy run-in in November and December, which should act as a good indicator where we're really at as a squad.

Let's not forget we've been pretty lucky with injuries so far.

It also depends on the January transfer window and whether and in what position(s) we'll bring in reinforcements.

I think that's a fair point and one I hadn't considered.

I do think though that Southampton's players are better than ours (or certainly were last year). Certainly defensively they had more going on with Foster, Clyne and Alderweireld all being significant upgrades on their City counterparts.

Cheers mate.

Why I say this is because imagine Mahrez in one of the best club sides in the world.

He's great for us, but imagine him in a side playing with more world class players. He wouldn't look out of place. In fact, he'd look even better. I wouldn't sell him for thirty mill at present, would you?

Nope, what does £30m get you now? Not much.

I know he is in a rich vein of form, so the level headed will say we're going over the top, but I haven't seen many with so much natural talent.

In a side with more of the ball, different attacking threats (so he isn't double marked all the time) he would be a superb signing.

We crossed the 20 point barrier today, our next aim is to get to 30 points ASAP and then we're in the home stretch for 40 points.

Like two batsmen trying to save a test match we should set ourselves a modest target over the next three overs and then reassess. Look to make small sensible targets and keep revaluating.

FWIW I think Arsenal and Man City will almost certainly finish above us.

I think Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs aren't much better than what we are and if things went our way and against them then I wouldn't be totally surprised to finish above any of them. Chelsea are quality but shocking at the minute and we might have a squeak of finishing above them if this continues much longer.

As for the rest then there's no reason we couldn't finish above any of them.

I'd give us about a 3% chance of Champions League and 15%-20% of Europa.

There, I've said it.

3% ?? But your argument sort of says there is a much higher chance

Yes I know we've just won another game. And it's not yet even Christmas.. And we're third.

BUT...dare we dream about making Europe this year? As in the Europa?

I'm being genuine. I'm not trying to be OTT or anything and I know we've still to play the big boys.

But we ARE looking good aren't we? We have Vardy in the form of his life, a world class player in Mahrez and a midfield full of bite and energy.

Dare we dream about making the top six this season lads and lassies?

Opinions please.......

I am in Europe, bloody waiting for my foxes for years. It is the chance though isnt it..??

I dont think Mahrez is WC, hes a top player no doubt, but still too often drifts. Before I call him WC he needs this at least and

another season at full pull. Not necessary scoring all the while, but high % of assists, and more consistently win his tackles.

I just put an higher value on the staple 'World class'

I do however believe we should, like W.Ham dream, not just of a top 8 or 10, but a top 4-6.

We are fans its our jobs to dare to dream and believe.

Vardy and Mahrez are the key, for our goal scoring, but the pressing .picking up the loose ball and looking to give consistent service from Kante, DD and whoever.

Schlupps form is getting better every week, if there are lapses, he can pick it up.

Perhaps I don't want to look too cocksure and stupid.  :P

I look at the teams in this league and I honestly think only Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea are streets ahead of us player wise and the latter is having mega problems.

I look at Man Utd, Spurs and Liverpool and really don't see a team much better than our own.

Player for player looking at other teams is an argument that could be debated from countless angles and personal opinions, what is clear is our team spirit and never say die attitude is setting us apart from other teams at the moment. I saw the footage of Claudio taking the team for pizza this week and knew we were going to win against WBA , that team spirit is off the clock !!

Have to disagree, I believe we'll end up below all of them unless we significantly improve the defence and get another striker who will bang in a few when Vardy gets injured/loses form.

Seventh would be fantastic but at the moment would feel a let down.

It will be a battle for 3rd and 4th place between us and these teams. We're going to do it and qualify for the Champions League.

Their colours are in our hands, our dreams are in theirs.

Of course we can dream about Europe. I don't see why not.

We are in third, and 22 points from 11 games is on form to probably finish third. Yes we have a "difficult run" coming up. But I can easily see us getting 9 points from the next 8 games, meaning we'd have (at least) 31 points for the first half of the season. Although 62 points wouldn't necessarily see us get into Europe, our owners are ambitious, and I have faith that they will spend big and not let anyone important leave.

Everybody, but everybody are tending to class, the so called top clubs players, man for man better than ours.

Arsenal game top club, beat us..Claudio has since made small changes, some nip and tuck.

At present we dont know, how far the team and players can go.

Stop and pause a minute

Albrighton, Kante, D.Drinkwater, Dyer.Giving top performances

Then Huth..Ex International

...Okazaki, Morgan, Schmeichel, Fuchs, Vardy, Schlupp, Mahrez........Internationals,

Why shouldnt Ranieri, take this 'Wild Bunch', and make them into a group of players, where other clubs/fans think, we havent got that class of player, plus they always adding/finding the next addition.

Go back a little.....Leeds, Burnley, Ipswich, Derby, Forest Blackburn, the great Liverpool under a younger(still old) Shankley.

Nobodies until they played only a couple of seasons.

If we win next weekend I say yes, only two teams have ever failed to get europe after having 25 or more points after 12 games - Villa in 1997/1998 (finished 6th and I believe lost out due to the cups) and Wigan in 2005/06 (finished 10th). Even from our current position the lowest anyone has finished is 13th (a team managed by a certain P. Taylor) which remains the only time a team has had 22 points after 11 games and not finished top half.
