Freesolo Posted 6 November 2015 Author Posted 6 November 2015 But thats just it ... he is probably fitter, and will remain so, than someone 5 years younger than him. (Took me ages to post this cus of that bloody women on your post .... had to roll my tongue back in.) But who would you rather have ? Vardy because he is settled and proved can perform in our team with our style of play.
LCFC FOX Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 Wilfred Bony has averaged a goal every other game his whole career in top leagues again Bony proved him self over a few seasons scoring often for Swansea. As for saying who we'd rather have obviously it's Vardy as he suits how we play. If Vardy scores like this next season and the one after then fair play.
crisp packet Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 I put 30+ But really to us he is really priceless! Name me another player really like vardy?
The Horse's Mouth Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 What a strange poll .... the first five bandings are an insult. Wilfried Bony cost £28m .... which one would you rather have ? We're talking true value, not the over inflated fee we would want. Bony is a solid player, but his value isn't 28million. Honestly, the idea that Vardy's worth over that really is the case of having to take your blue tinted specs off.
Guest bss9401 Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 My opinion is £20m based on what he would comfortably pay back to a team if he played out a 5 year contract and then left on a free. I would not want him to leave even if £25m were offered.

Bony's a great player; just goes to show what sitting on your arse for 9 months can do to you as a player. His goal in the last minute at QPR was absolutely outrageous, probably my favourite goal of last season.

Wymsey Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 Hope we play Fleetwood in the cup, and he gets the appreciation of how brilliantly far he has come.
Nalis Posted 7 November 2015 Posted 7 November 2015 Looking at it from the perspective of if he played for someone else and wanted to buy him then I'd say 15m -20m but to us, he's obviously worth a lot more to keep.
Bayfox Posted 7 November 2015 Posted 7 November 2015 6 people actually think he worth less than 10!!!! I assume they are other fans or morons. Or both
Guest NGoloMode Posted 7 November 2015 Posted 7 November 2015 Look at the market, QPR wanted upwards of £15m and they'd been relegated for Austin, Vardy doesn't want to leave, we want to keep him and we don't need the money especially with the new tv deal coming in next season. If you want to buy him (not what he's actually worth) he's going to cost you about £40 million and nobody is going to pay that. Nobody paid it so surely it means he's NOT worth upwards of £15m..
Thracian Posted 7 November 2015 Posted 7 November 2015 hes nowhere near as good as vardy tho hes nowhere near as good as vardy tho Bony's a give-and-go goal poacher. His pace is over a yard rather than a distance. Damned good player too. Still adjusting to the demands of Manchester City but showing signs of emerging as a highly potent force. Not the type I'd ever want to mark and neither is Vardy. They'd give you nightmares.

cityfanlee23 Posted 7 November 2015 Posted 7 November 2015 Van Nistelrooy was 30 when he left Man Utd in 2006 and he was a beast playing for arguable the best team in the country getting 25+ goals a season guaranteed and he left for a mere 14 million Euros, I don't know what that is in today's money but it puts things into perspective Have to remember though, wages are a huge factor, For every 20k per week, thats another 1m per year in wages... x3 year contract average that's 3m per 20k per week over the life of the contract. Vardy is on what 30k? RVN would have been on 3x that wouldnt he? if he was on say 90k per week, x3 years... thats an extra £9.3m spent on wages by the club that buys him compared to vardys current wage (Assuming that vardy is on about 30k and RVN on 90k)

So we decided we will give you a discount on our player so you can pay his wages and we lose money on a transfer fee, happy to help! Complete nonsense And if you believe that then vardy is just been devalued to about £10m if liverpool were to buy him and pay him £80k a week.
Haydos Posted 7 November 2015 Posted 7 November 2015 It bugs me quite a bit that people narrow value down to one number, It's complete conjecture, he's worth whatever someone will pay for him, our valuation might be completely different to another clubs which will be completely different to anothers. His age, the fact that we don't really need to sell, he might be realistic and also happy here, his wages, his contract length, time left in transfer window to bring in replacement...all these things and more sway his 'value' back and fourth by millions depending on the situation and that can change one week to the next. Are people really going to be talking about £30m if he goes 5+ matches without a goal?

roblcfc84 Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 Whatever some-one is willing to pay. January is definitely a sellers market though.
Renart Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 'Big clubs will look at Vardy'Leicester 2-1 Watford Andy Dunn Sunday Mirror sports columnist "At some point let's stop the fairy tale and start the real tale for Jamie Vardy. He will be the subject of interest from big clubs. He's quick and direct and improving. His runs are always intelligent and his finishing is accomplished."
jayfox26 Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 Van Nistelrooy was 30 when he left Man Utd in 2006 and he was a beast playing for arguable the best team in the country getting 25+ goals a season guaranteed and he left for a mere 14 million Euros, I don't know what that is in today's money but it puts things into perspective Van Nistelrooy had fallen out of favour by that point and although he scored shit loads, he didn't have the same value to United as Vardy does to us. Vardy is irreplaceable as I don't know any striker in the world that plays the way he does as well as he does!
