Clever Fox Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 While it's great to see us sit in such a lofty position All we've achieved is the easier part of the job that is getting to the top of the League. The really hard part is staying there. But make no mistake, We're where we are on merit. Nobody gifts you top of the league. Now the real battle begins as it gets tougher from here. Teams will up their game and want to beat us just because we are top Dogs. Distractions will be greater, Media attention will be higher. Requests for personal player interviews. Agents trying to tap up players. All distractions we could clearly do without. How the players handle this period will determine how far we've come as a team. it's very easy for the players to believe the hype and start thinking that they just have turn up to win matches. That's the one area Ferguson at Man Utd excelled at, keeping the players grounded at all times. I'm sure Ranieri will be wary of that and keep them focused. The players for their part need to stay focused and continue to work hard and play in the same manner. While both Players and Fans fully enjoy the ride and experiences along the way. Then come next May hopefully we can all reflect on what is so far proving to be an historic season, Certainly one of the best in my 55 years following Leicester. Keep it up lads.
ScouseFox Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 no offence but if you are looking at the negatives and being cautious atm considering what's happened to us in the last 15 years you are weird. who gives a shit what might happen in 6 weeks time and we might not be top then and we might lose 3 games in a row and we might not win the fa cup but why not just enjoy the ride, we're top of the fvcking league have two of the best players in the world have a manager who looks like this and are top of the league
GaelicFox Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 With all due respect Clever Fox unless someone just followed city for 2 years we all know the pain of being a foxes fan ! So let's just enjoy the moment the future will be the future !
Vacamion Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 You missed a trick in not naming this thread "All aboard the pessimistic bus".
Corky Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 All we've achieved is the easier part of the job that is getting to the top of the League. Seriously?

Guest Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Not entirely sure why the OP is getting so much shit. Nothing wrong with a bit of caution. Doesn't mean he isn't enjoying it? I'm loving it massively but refusing to get deluded. Maybe not as downbeat as that fella but hey.. people are just different.

Maybe not as downbeat as that fella but hey.. people are just different. tbf i didnt even read the post, i was just annoyed that people on here, in the media, twitter, chaps in work and the rest are all saying "yeah but you'll start losing soon". so what man, we probably will. we were meant to start losing in august. we're literally in a dream world atm, gotta be a pretty downbeat "fan" to be watching this team this season and thinking more about when it's going to go wrong rather than the fact that, i repeat, we're top of the league and the crimbo trees are up in town.

I know we are better than that but I can see why some older fans (he said He'd supported club for 55 years) might be a bit wary of false dawns. Your enthusiasm is great. I love it. Just you know.. not everyone is the same
Guest Mee-9 Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 We're top of the ****ing league. Calm the **** down.
Corky Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 It's only a false dawn if you expect it to remain the same/ get better. To be honest we've no idea how we'll fare so just enjoy it for now.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 are you trying to piss on my bonfire?
Deucalion Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Here's a little factette for all you optimists. Before this season, Leicester were briefly top of the PL in Peter Taylor's first season. We hit the top of the league and our next game was on Sky, against Man United and billed worldwide as a 'top of the table clash'. We lost 4-0 and finished the season 13th. Our worst finish in the PL for 6 years.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 people are like peter taylor this, peter taylor that. he's dead now so get over it
Deucalion Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Game wasn't on Sky and we lost 3-0. I remember it being on Sky and 4-0 but I could be wrong. Can't be bothered to check.
Stadt Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 people are like peter taylor this, peter taylor that. he's dead now so get over it Claudio's left bollock has more managerial ability than peter taylor
Guest bss9401 Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 I remember it being on Sky and 4-0 but I could be wrong. Can't be bothered to check. Up to that point I had longed all my Foxes supporting life (25 years by then) to see Leicester City top of the League. I kept the papers showing us top, just as I will keep them from this weekend. I so hope that we can kick on and make top 7 (or better??) this time but I will be proud of this weekend regardless of what comes next week or next year.
HighPeakFox Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 I remember it being on Sky and 4-0 but I could be wrong. Can't be bothered to check. I was there, it was a 3pm Saturday kick off just after my 30th birthday. Sven got appointed on my 40th, and we beat Norwich away on my 45th. I'm 50 on a Saturday, hoping we have a game that day too..........
ozleicester Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Walked into my 5 aside game last night into the middle of the court and sang..... We're top of the league.... we're top of the league..... we're LEICESTER CITY, we're top of the league!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fvck caution, enjoy life at the top

ThingsCouldGetMessi Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 Can't we all just enjoy being top? Regardless of who we have played, who expected us to be on 28 points and 1st after 13 games??? Pretty much everybody would have taken 20 points at this stage before a ball was kicked back in August. After years of being terrible, we should be loving this.
Kitchandro Posted 23 November 2015 Posted 23 November 2015 What's the point in being cautious? It's not us who are playing. I'd rather be smug and just enjoy it because in all likelihood we will slip back to mid table soon enough.
