You're a real Leicester fan when.......

I can see where people are coming from when they dismiss the derogatory comments towards 'plastics', but equally share the frustration of those that bemoan the rise of fans that weren't there 'when we were shit.'

For somebody who doesn't live in the area any more, but went home and away in rougher times, it's kind of annoying to see some fans that have appeared from nowhere enjoy our success. It feels like being with your childhood sweetheart for years and then some cunt shagging her infront of your very eyes the moment she grows a pair of tits.

Going for a wee feels good, no one can deny that. But going for a wee when you've been no where near / incapable of getting to a toilet for several hours feels fricking incredible.

that genuinely made me laugh out loud...i knew just what you meant  :D

so we are top of the league and with that brings out the bandwagon supporters from not only England but all over the world. Soon kids in Asia will be seen with City shirts with Mahrez or Vardy on the back.

All this is great for the club but what sets you apart from these new fans?

Lets have some fun and remember the old and not so good days, Finish of the sentence "You're a real Leicester fan when....."

I'll start off

........... When you've seen players like Andy Johnson, Momo Sylla and Danny Cadamarteri be genuine 1st team options

What a patronising load of crap !

Your a real Leicester fan when your an Olympic grade

MOANER !

Who cares, just be happy people are supporting the same team as you. Can't be bothered with all the 'I'm a better fan than you', 'they are plastic' cock-boasting bs, just enjoy the team doing well.

really not trying to be a boblet ( and i haven't read any of the posts in this thread but yours) But why do we need to be set apart from the other fans?

But as for memory of being a city fan....

Trying to work out what Style Mark Wallington had his tash that week from where i was sitting.... I was only a kid but it felt like it changed every week ( it probably never did)

The whole plastic fan really gets under my skin.

For people in foreign countries I totally get it and I'm fine with, outside of England I like and have always liked Barca (so means I hate Real) but will also like some other teams depending on what their style of play is etc but never in a million years would I dream of making out I'm now a avid fan etc

In this country, to class us as a team they like etc is fine, don't act as if your now the biggest Leicester fan going. It's embarrassing and annoying when you have always followed a team but are quick to switch soon as a club come good. That is what annoys me lol especially when there has been real fans that have endured the good and the bad times

Do see your point.....

But what a time to grab some new young fans that could be with us for years to come.... I was hooked on Leicester City from the minute i went to my first game.... lets hope its the same for some of these 'plastics'

I started supporting Leicester after the 1966 World Cup.. Gordon Banks was my hero.. Followed by Peter Shilton.

I was very ill as a youngster and my dear old mum wrote a letter to LCFC asking if they'd help me to see a match at Filbert Street... The response was amazing.

They invited me and 3 friends to a match day.. December 68..home to Manchester United.

They arranged to collect us from the train station, took us to the ground for a tour of the dressing rooms, onto the pitch etc.. We then met all the players as they turned up at the ground..

Peter Rodrigues pulled up on his Lambretta scooter!.. Met Alan Clarke, David Nish, Rodney Fern, Peter Shilton (God)... Etc

Had brilliant SEATS for the match..

Man United had.. Best, Law and Charlton up front!...

And to end the greatest day of my life Leicester won 2-1 with Rodney Fern scoring the winner!

...this is why my heart belongs to LCFC!

Dec 7 1968! My birthday and got the program that my dad gave me(a lot of year's later) as he cleared off to the match just after i was born!

When the thought of Cardiff away sends shivers down your spine.

When lobbing snowballs at Walsall's stewards seems like a lark.

When the thought of European football makes your underpants go all warm and gooey.

When you get excited about the FA Cup draw before it's made.

When you get disappointed about the FA Cup draw after it's made.

When an elderly man with questionable personal hygiene shouting at traffic is pre match entertainment.

When you think Palace fans are the height of cvntery.

When you've more or less forgotten that Forest and Derby even exist.

When you want to push glory hunting fans from Leicester under a bus.

When you remember that Josh Low once played in a similar position to Riyad Mahrez less than 10 years ago.

When you remember Richie Wellens and Esteban Cambiasso had the same shirt number.

When you still hate Dennis Wise, Erland Johnsen and Chelsea in general.

When you can't hear HARK NOW HEAR without singing the Leicester version.

I know this thread is tongue in cheek but was anyone here at all three Football League Trophy games in 2008-09 ( Hartlepool / Lincoln /Rotherham ) ?

lol

Was it really only seven years ago that Lincoln took us to a penalty shootout and Dany N'Guessan gave our defence headaches?!

Our biggest rivals that season were Peterboro, I really disliked them for at least 2/3 seasons.

Laughable really.

We also hated Plymouth for a good season, and loved Cheltenham.

Don't forget the Nicky Maynard saga either. How we got on with Bristol 'bigger club than Leicester' City! lol

My Dad started taking me down Filbert Street when I was about 6, been a season ticket holder pretty much ever since (missed 3, I think, seasons with work commitments) and even when not managed to get to the games I could. Don't know if that makes me a bigger or better fan than anyone else but do know my passion for the club would rarely be bettered, but I'm sure all true Leicester City fans feel the same.

Christ! I remember Cheltenham fans doing the conga round the away end of the KP while 4-0 down in League One like it was yesterday.

What a ride it's been.

A co-worker, who has always said we are shit, is now saying we aren't that bad and he's always liked us. He is now even acting as if he wants us to win...I don't care if you want to take the high ground, I'm more than petty enough to admit people like that, really piss me off!

....Your old man takes you out of school on your birthday for a tour of filbert street, bumping into brian little on the way :) I'm 31 now, and feel old! Funnily enough the old man looks a bit like Claudio these days!

You got to run on the Filbert Street pitch after we beat Oxford in 1991! What a relieve that day was!
