Villa did it with having at least 2 players around him and close him down too quickly before he can get into his thing. Also, I didn't think he's "disinterested", I think it's disappointment in his performance. I think he's a confidence player. If he had scored that penalty he would be on it, but as was, he missed which dented his confidence. One little good turn in the next game and we'll see him back. Or if the defender didn't stop the goal bound shot with his arm he could be on fire now

Wouldn't you rather the club add more widespread support for Vardy AND keep Mahrez, improving the players around him? We need to add better quality players around the good ones we have to share the workload and pressure. Maybe all the extra press interest has got on top of him but on the pitch he doesn't get as much time on the ball as he's always doubled up and constantly fouled with no attempts to even go for the ball. Now it's on him as a player and the staff to add to his game in these situations.

Albert Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 He's looked abit jaded recently. Not just physically but maybe abit mentally as well. People forget that since he's joined us he's hardly had a proper break with the World Cup and African nations etc. Think it would do him the world of good to have a week off to go away, get some sun, switch off from it all and come back recharged for the rest of the season. Give Gray a couple of run outs in his place.

Looks a bit nervous on the ball to me (maybe thinks someone is going to clatter him - the Villa players certainly did!).

There has been no mention on the BBC site (Football gossip), which is a good summary of speculation, as it includes regional papers. If only a mention in the Mirror, I think you can be fairly certain it won't happen.
