I posted this the other day about Mahrez and his head being turned it seems to me his focus on a summer move is tripping him up ! Keep playing like that and Manchester , london and Madrid won't be calling for you any time soon son ! Well Madrid can't but his big move is surely being jeopardised by this ! He obviously needs another full season developing at Leicester !

Have been a little like this for a while I hope it's just him being tired But when someone declares they will look at things in summer when they have 3 years left on a contact it's obvious they have had their heads turned ! He isn't ready for a massive club yet ! If we had a stronger squad he would Be benched here for next two games !

If they don't then they play for the best clubs in the world. Unfortuantley for us Mahrez & Vardy are having them at the same time. Also it must be tough for Mahrez as he's so use to having one vs one situations yet whenever he gets the ball now there's at least 2 players around him. It's down to us to recruit better attacking players to take this burden off him.

Villa did it with having at least 2 players around him and close him down too quickly before he can get into his thing. Also, I didn't think he's "disinterested", I think it's disappointment in his performance. I think he's a confidence player. If he had scored that penalty he would be on it, but as was, he missed which dented his confidence. One little good turn in the next game and we'll see him back.
ithuriel Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 He always blows hot and cold, has done and will continue to do so but he should not be allowed to take anymore penalties, you cant be the penalty taker and put in weak efforts like that. From his body language I'd say Vardy wanted that, hands on hips and just watching, guess the next penalty we get if Mahrez goes to take it Vards might just take the ball off him.

It's down to us to recruit better attacking players to take this burden off him. That means there's space somewhere else and he should exploit it quickly. A really good winger finds the balance between laying balls off with first time passes and taking people on when there's some space to use and colleagues around to help exploit it. He's making bad choices at times, not for the first time this season, but equally important is that he's not getting attacking support around him nor is he moving about the pitch as much as he used to and therefore posing different problems to defenders. In committing fewer resources to attack since Schlupp's been injured and some of our potential pace has gone, we've limited our own options and become far too predictable in the main.
