Kilworthfox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 We are currently where we are due to football professionals doing their jobs extremely well. Thats from our chairman down to the scouting team. I have no concearns with how our club is being ran, and the decision making process in place. I'd say that from top to bottom we are the best ran and set up club off the pitch, which is why we are where we are on the pitch. Enjoy this time of our footballing lives!
Ashley Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Heard two people say. He hit reality again due to too much pressure being on the players and they won't get the same results
Bamba's Babes Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 I think we'll plateau and land in mid-table
jim5000 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Do you think the Owners know what they will do next? Before the season kicked off they said the plan was to be competing in the top 6 in the next 2-3 years. We've somehow jumped forward 2 years and it'll be interesting to see what the plan was once we get there. It's not just us either, surely Chelsea and Man Utd will turn things around and start competing at the top again, which would put more of a squeeze on us. The stars are aligning for us this season, but maybe not next?
ozleicester Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 , this is Leicester, so... Seven players get arrested for building a bomb at the King Power Stadium The stadium gets upgraded to seat 80,000 Lose all warm up games Beat Barca in the 1st round champs league knocked out of the League cup first round sign Ronaldo (the fat one by mistake) Get bought by Rupert Murdoch The seven players are released when a court case proves they were just arranging the demolition/rebuild of the stadium knocked out of the FA cup 4th round Ranieri sacked, Pearson Hired, Pearson sacked for wearing a tshirt to his first press conference that says F*#K you all, especially you stringer FOAD! beat Man city 12 - nil Relegated
ScouseFox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Biggest issue next season THE AFRICAN NATIONS CUP !!!!!!! We could be half a team down if Kante declares for Mali ! currently of our first team (in fact of our most recent match day 16) we'd lose one player? riyads great and makes us a much better team but "we'll be half a team down for two months" is a lot different to riyad will miss 5 or 6 games.
EnglishOxide Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 BUT, where do we go from here? Will our squad with a few additions give us a respectable show in the EPL and CL next year to show that this year isn't just a freak? Do we spend big and risk ruining the team ethic? Do we just leave as is and continue 'overachieving' and not become a team that is expected to compete? What do we need to do to maintain our EPL place next season? How do we avoid being becoming a team like Liverpool/Spurs/Everton who are close, but not quite there? (I pray to god we don't turn into fans like Liverpool!! Every discussion will turn into 'Remember the 2015/16 season...History...blah, blah, blah...') If we finish top 3/4 this year, what is our goal next season? If (big if) we win the league, what is our goal next season? And for a laugh, at what point do we call for CR's head next season if we are not top from the off...So many question which makes my head hurt so much I wonder why I even watch football! 1. Yes. Ranieri has been there a done it, he knows what is required and will have moulded our current crop into an established unit. 2. Spend big on 2 or 3 if necessary (assuming nobody leaves). When competing in 4 competitions I think players know these days the squad has to be big, so there shouldn't be problems. 3. It will remain as us 'overachieving' until we spend a few years in Europe and at the top of the PL to establish ourselves. 4. Carry on as we are. Be good on different formations. Score penalties. 5. Hold on to our best players, be smart with backroom staff and managerial change. Only sell players abroad and scout better talent than our rivals. 6. First target - top 10. Main target - title. 7. Retain title. Get out of CL group. Ranieri to get pushed if we don't get out of the CL group
Wizerud Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I wouldn't be surprised to see CR make some changes to the way we play before the start of next season. I think he already knows what he wants to do - perhaps play a more conventional style of play - but I would bet all of the signings we've made recently and will make from this point forward will be for players who would be suited to the system he will play after this season, while still being at least functional for now.
foxinsox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Chelsea and ManU are quite likely not be in Europe next year. The turmoil at both clubs will take more than a season to sort out. They are going to struggle to sign the sorts of players that they desire. Indeed they may well lose players. I think Leicester may fancy a couple. Ranieri is not one to change a winning formula. He is possibly the least tinkering Tinkerman ever. I would expect some high profile signings to help in the CL and consolidating a top 4 place, but the core of the team to be unchanged. In particular neither Huth nor Morgan are getting younger and Was is on his last legs, though all have been excellent this season. Our owners seem more "hands off" than most, but will want to maintain the position. I am looking forward to clacking Messi and Neymar...
Juvenile Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Keep key players, maybe up to 5 quality additions to improve the squad. Potentially more games and more injuries. Keep looking for players like Gray/Chillwell. Whether Mahrez would leave if we got champs league football. I'm sure the lure of a big big team would be too much for him to turn down.
Mikey Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 currently of our first team (in fact of our most recent match day 16) we'd lose one player? riyads great and makes us a much better team but "we'll be half a team down for two months" is a lot different to riyad will miss 5 or 6 games. But if Mahrez, Schlupp, Amartey and Kante all go then we're suddenly short of options for a fairly busy period.
ScouseFox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 But if Mahrez, Schlupp, Amartey and Kante all go then we're suddenly short of options for a fairly busy period. kante will probs end up being french. we've not exactly done badly without amartey until now and we've done just as well without schlupp. we'd miss mahrez, just as we did last season. but shit happens. i'd rather have him for 10 months a year than for none.
the_smith Posted 26 January 2016 Author Posted 26 January 2016 Our owners seem more "hands off" than most, but will want to maintain the position. I am looking forward to clacking Messi and Neymar... The thought of Huth looking at Messi or Neymar and thinking 'I'm going to hurt you...If I can catch you...' makes me smile in a demonic way
pleatout Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 The thought of Huth looking at Messi or Neymar and thinking 'I'm going to hurt you...If I can catch you...' makes me smile in a demonic way Wes had Messi in his back pocket in the summer. It was Higuaín he couldn't get near.

I hope Kanté decides to be French. It could potentially be 3 key first teamers though. The squad needs padding out massively anyway if we qualify for Europe next season. We just need to remember not to sign all the great Africans,
Haydos Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Give it 100% in the Champions League if we get there. I wouldn't kill me if we went down as well as long as we gave it our all in Europe, that's what it's all been about ever since we did it with O'Neil. You don't remember year after year of midtable finishes, you remember getting to the Champions League, qualifying for the knock out stages.

Harry - LCFC Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Our chances of being relegated next season are minimal if we finish in the top four. I know it feels nice to brag about how humble you are but you all know how unlikely it is that we'll be left with a squad that has a half-chance of going down.

Harry - LCFC Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 This is Leicester. That's a nonsense comment. Every club has downturns. I highly doubt we're uniquely prone to that sort of thing. You only say that because you've experienced them.

It's typical Leicester aint it.
