What happens next season...?

Can't seem to see a thread like this, so please correct me if I'm wrong! If it is being discussed inside a different thread, then I do think it warrants its own thread.

I getting pretty excited about the potential of CL football at the KP next season. I think that's ok now, right?

BUT, where do we go from here?

  1. Will our squad with a few additions give us a respectable show in the EPL and CL next year to show that this year isn't just a freak?
  2. Do we spend big and risk ruining the team ethic?
  3. Do we just leave as is and continue 'overachieving' and not become a team that is expected to compete?
  4. What do we need to do to maintain our EPL place next season?
  5. How do we avoid being becoming a team like Liverpool/Spurs/Everton who are close, but not quite there? (I pray to god we don't turn into fans like Liverpool!! Every discussion will turn into 'Remember the 2015/16 season...History...blah, blah, blah...')
  6. If we finish top 3/4 this year, what is our goal next season?
  7. If (big if) we win the league, what is our goal next season?

And for a laugh, at what point do we call for CR's head next season if we are not top from the off...

So many question which makes my head hurt so much I wonder why I even watch football!

Nope, it's not O.K. yet - still 15 games to go and we haven't achieved anything yet in my book. Re-post with 5 games to go and I might play lol

If we make the top four the players would have proved themselves... we would need to add depth and strengthen a couple of areas but not huge changes. The important thing is that we hold on to our best players

I agree with the below, but it would nice to be of the mind-set that we are genuinely thinking about more than staying up. I do think that the comments for the first half of the season about avoiding relegation were more a point of not getting over excited and looking like a kn*b saying we are going to win the league. That paired with the traditional Leicester thing of 'it'll never last'. I did think to myself and have a few chats with guys at work saying that it really wouldn't surprise me if we actually went all the way.

Even if we win the league this season, first priority next season is staying up.

Really glad I'm not the only one who's been thinking about this.

We will not have one or two star players and with world wide interests if we continue our run: maybe some other players too. To keep what we have our wage bill will suddenly double and without the ground capacity to keep pace it could be a case of too big too soon.

Then we definitely are on for a 40 points target, whilst competing in Europe and cups.

Still....when you smiling!

You do realise we are going to be receiving the biggest tv deal ever... funds won't be a problem. We have done remarkably well spending little in comparison to the others to get this far

Pearson back?

I think you must have either your head in the clouds, or been away on holiday, or reporting on a different team, because if you don’t know the answer to that question . . your question is absolutely unbelievable, the fact you do not understand where I am coming from. If you don’t know the answer to that question then I think you are an ostrich. Your head must be in the sand. Is your head in the sand? Are you flexible enough to get your head in the sand? My suspicion would be no.

We need to spend big in the summer with champions league football that's for sure

Maybe in one or two areas, but by and large I think the current squad deserve a crack at it, just like they deserved a crack at the Prem. If we make the CL we should use it as a learning experience. Imagine the psychological blow to the current squad if players who are part of this unreal season become victims of their own success.

Yes I do.  Like Southampton? an established PL side.  Do you realise that when the big boys come a knockin, even Spurs have to sell ?

Biggest issue next season

THE AFRICAN NATIONS CUP !!!!!!!

We could be half a team down if Kante declares for Mali !

He'll already have played for France at the Euros by then ;)

Really which is why Stones is at Chelsea... oh wait... unless the big clubs are going to be laying down some big dollar we have no reason to sell
