DB11 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 From what I can tell, the only connection between the murder and the incident is that the suspect is an LCFC fan........
lgfualol Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Awful what happened to her, I couldnt even bare to imagine it happening to someone I know but this whole thing is weird. But what I have gathered from this thread is that it is an applause for the poor girl who was murdered by some freaks, wasnt into football and her family that follow football don't even support Leicester? It'll be even worse if we score on the 15th minute and her minutes applause is forgotten.

That would probably be better (for the family, or whoever has organised it) than no one taking part in it. which I imagine will be the case
MPH Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Although Meashem is technically in Leicestershire. As a city, and as the crow flies, Derby is closer to Meashem than Leicester is.
ramboacdc Posted 26 January 2016 Author Posted 26 January 2016 Although Meashem is technically in Leicestershire. As a city, and as the crow flies, Derby is closer to Meashem than Leicester is. Measham is part of derbyshire according to the post code (de12) but fall into north west leicestershire constituency. I am at the other end of the spectrum, kegworth is classed as derbyshire (de74 postcode) but is also in north west leicestershire.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Very sad situation in a often bad world but even so and not wishing to offend unless a massive fan it is not appropriate
Kilworthfox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I dont see how football is involved in this issue?
Strokes Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Oh god, this kind of thing really has gotten out of control. Tragic, heartbreaking events absolutely but what would this hollow tribute achieve really? Apart from to erode the meaning of tributes laid out in the past.
Richmondfox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Very sad situation in a often bad world but even so and not wishing to offend unless a massive fan it is not appropriate I agree with this. The 'campaign' doesn't say why they want the club and 32K strangers to clap. A cynic could say they are slightly guilt tripping the fans/club for whatever their reason is for using the game for publicity on the case/tragic loss. It does seem a more common trend to publicly grieve/start social media campaigns when young people are involved.

Post code doesn't mean that it is Derbyshire, it means that the nearest postal sorting office is in Derby. The town/village itself is Leicestershire.
C-man Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Anyone see that two-stick flag for the poor McVeigh boy (died of leukaemia aged 11) at Anfield last night? That's a proper tribute, made by and for people who genuinely cared about their Club. Stood proudly on display at the corner of the Kop. That is a far more fitting and personal display of remembrance than thousands of people clapping along without any knowledge of what they are clapping for.
Finnegan Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 I'm really starting to hate this fashionable grief shit trend.

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 I'm really starting to hate this fashionable grief shit trend. At last we agree on something
GaelicFox Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Very sad for her family But what on earth has it got to do with Leicester city ? It happened months ago so why is it coming up now ? I will add we should maybe all clap for a whole match if they ever bring back hanging for the likes of the two that did this !
GaelicFox Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 I'm really starting to hate this fashionable grief shit trend. I blame elton John !

It'll be even worse if we score on the 15th minute and her minutes applause is forgotten. The last few that were meant to go have been forgotten. Must've been four or five attempts at these I've not noticed. Oh god, this kind of thing really has gotten out of control. Tragic, heartbreaking events absolutely but what would this hollow tribute achieve really? Apart from to erode the meaning of tributes laid out in the past. Bit of an ego boost for whoever (presumably not a member of her family) is touting this, and a nice side of self-righteousness for the vocal minority questioning anyone who doesn't get involved. Also, don't mean to be funny but we've played several fixtures since her tragic death. Why now? Moot point I guess given LCFC's only connection is to the accused.
ramboacdc Posted 27 January 2016 Author Posted 27 January 2016 beautiful and done correctly. Liverpool always seem to hit the nail on the head with these!
Langley Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 well i did not know that! why do i have a nottingham area code for my landline then ? Long Eaton is NG10 because the nearest sorting office is in Beeston (nottingham) even though Long Eaton is in Derbyshire. Kegworth is in Leicestershire even though the nearest sorting office is in Derbyshire. The reason the phone number for you is Nottingham because the local exchange to you is a nottingham one and too far away from 01530 or 0116 etc.
M0901 Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 The family that follow football are derby fans. I know that for certain. A lot of Measham is. The only Leicester fans I know are my father in law and one of the mrs' cousins. I'm in a small minority of Leicester fans in Measham then!
ramboacdc Posted 27 January 2016 Author Posted 27 January 2016 I'm in a small minority of Leicester fans in Measham then! yes you are sir!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 beautiful and done correctly. Liverpool always seem to hit the nail on the head with these! They have plenty of practise
