Checking the Premier League Table every day

Recommended Posts

Posted

This time last year we became 3 points adrift at the foot of the Premier League Table and for the last twelve months I must have stared at it for different reasons every single day.

That's a year! Probably more hours that than I've ever looked at any football table in my life.

I stare for a few minutes every day right now just to make myself feel good. A year ago I stared to work out possible permutations of the impossible.

I'm obsessed! Of all the clubs in the country probably only another Leicester Fan has done the same. Please tell me I'm OK and don't need therapy.

The planets have aligned and the football gods converged and decreed that LCFC shall win the premier league, I hope....

Dude, it's just a list of football teams with numbers and columns. May I suggest getting a girlfriend possibly?

I take screen shots on my phone of the league table every time a game is played

Maybe you two should hook up together lol

I used that "the planets are aligning" line today at work off the cuff, but now I'm believing it; just look what's going on with visible planets at the mo...

It's only gonna get better, whatever happens now!!

Keep dreaming Claudio's dream

(Can't find the emoticons, otherwise I'd use a couple!!)

I get a bigger erection looking at the numbers. But I am a nerd :)

I keep looking at www.statto.com , basically so I can see where Southampton were at our stage last season and along with ours at the foot of the table.

Did you know that on the 5th May this year, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter and the Earth will all line up with the Sun, and the point at which the line passes through the northern hemisphere goes through Leicester?

Maybe it is in the stars...

Always love to see the table and see us top of English football in arguably the best league in the world. It's a truly amazing time for our club. Some of the time I check the table to look at each club's goal difference etc but it's still great to see where we are.

we are on a completely different level to what southampton were at any stage last season

I've tried to explain to my girlfriend how important football and particularly Leicester is to me.

I say it's as important as religion is to other people, to which I get responses like it's just a game etc.

If I try to suggest that planetary alignment and forces beyond our world play a part in what happens on the pitch, then I think that may be a bit much for her.

But it does feel like everything is dropping into place.

Did you get your "table looking" doze today?

In Algerian dialect we use the expression "Rinse your eyes" or "Rinsing my eyes" literally refering to enjoying looking at things that you like . Where "rinse" here means refreshing with water. yea I know it's weird :)

I used to not want to look at it last season because it was dread every time I saw it and fearing the worst and it just made me sad always. But now its the total opposite feeling of that and I'm staring at it often. still hard to believe.

Completely true to say that this time last season we looked like a side who actually weren't always playing too badly, but who were vulnerable to conceding weak goals, defensive errors, whilst not scoring enough at the other end.

We looked like a side who would struggle to avoid relegation. I remember the abject display against Villa in the FA cup and thought, hand on heart that we were going downhill quickly.

The signing of Huth has been one of the biggest in the history of the club. I firmly believe that. It changed our fortunes last season. Vardy regained his form and we literally haven't looked back. I'm glad Cambiasso left. For me (contrary to nearly all other posters), I thought he could be a defensive liability. The midfield this season is streets ahead of last season's imo. Signing Kante has made an immense difference. And we are top. Can we stay there?

If Eder does his cruciate this week in training then things might just begin to feel a bit eerie...........

I'd imagine that as we'd been linked with Kante forever, he'd still have come even if Cambiasso had stayed and we'd have had a starting pairing of Kante-Cambiasso. Can't say it bothers me though, all things considered, which still  seems bizarre.

Tbf Col you said you'd stop bringing him up the other day.

We conceded goals this season too. A fair few in the first half of the season that were cancelled out by Vardy and Mahrez's prolificness. Kanté gave us a lot more prominence in midfield but we still leaked goals until Huth got into it again and we bought Fuchs and Simpson in as full backs. There was a good three or four months where the midfield changed but we still conceded goals Col so I can't see the legs on your argument against Cambiasso tbh.

Was having a conversation the other day about who was in the bottom 3 and I honestly had no idea bar Villa being bottom as I haven't looked at the bottom half of the table all season
