To win the title.........

Recommended Posts

the next two games are tough and we could lose them both and then go on a winning run of 5 or 6 which would probably take us back top.  remember last feb when we had a tough run. some pointed out that it was bound to get worse before it could get better. and they were right.

win our next two and then lose three out of the six that follow. could happen.  as those at the club say, just play each game and move onto the next. once we get to thirty fixtures, we will have a good idea of what might be achievable.

As I said at Christmas, If we lost every game after that I'd be proud, and I still stand by this.

What we've accomplished this season already makes me proud to say I was born a Leicester fan and will die a Leicester fan.

This is amazing.

Can't we just enjoy Tuesday and get excited for Saturday and worry about April and May when we arrive there ?

I appriciate the effort but it's all a bit premature

Can you tell me the average points over last 5 years 3rd and 4th place ?

That would be very cool to know , because we could be close to that

For me valantines day looks huge ! The top 4 all playing each other and only 5 pts between them , unfortunately maybe less come Monday morning !

I did that in another thread entitled Champions League Qualification

lets sum this up...to win the title we need to get more points than the other teams. we do our job let others do theirs!

It's a very simple process, the team with the most points wins. !! For me personally, I'm just going to enjoy the moment. Obviously winning would be amazing but if someone told me top six at the start of the season I would have been all in.

The best way to monitor our performances is to see if we match our results from the first part of the season.

Bournmouth: 0

Villa: -2

Tottenham: +2

Stoke: +2

Liverpool: +3

We are 5pts up.

In the first half of the season we get 39pts. Therefore our target is 78pts.

As it stands we are looking at 83pts.

CR wanted 79pts. Does he realise just how difficult that'll be.

Because you think we'll win against all the teams we won against in the first half. Most unlikely.

I would be absolutely delighted with a top 3 finish. Puts us straight into the group stages of Champs League.

Obviously I want us to win it, but I hope if we come 2nd or 3rd, people aren't disappointed and moan about blowing our chance etc. It is astonishing to be where we are  :scarf:

This time last year, I did the PL predictor thing on the Grimsby website. I recall that I had us to achieve 35 points which just had us safe.

I have just done the remainder of the season for the top 7 and this is how it came out

I'm not known for my optimism and I had us to lose Saturday and get a point at arsenal. Ignore the GD numbers.

interesting!

Hold on your all over the shop with your points

On one thread it's 88 neaded and on this much less , how does that work ?

Your post has now really little relevance or point if it's contradicting what you have already posted .

It's the only points thing I've posted.

12 points ahead of Spurs seems optimistic! They are playing great and show no signs of stopping

We're all fans here and most have followed city long enough to see many dreams shattered.

A mate of mine said the other day - I bet you're enjoying this.

I said no it's so scary it's unreal. Such opportunity and such a track record. I hope we pull something amazing off. But that's all it is - hope.

Yes I know - plenty of London derbys though I suspect. Never easy. I didn't think too hard about it and had no idea what would come out at the end. I was surprised to see us on top.

My son said to me yesterday in so many words. 'I so hope Leicester win for you dad, you've supported them forever, I'm only 13 and I can't believe how I feel and I've never been to a game'

Sums it up for me. I'm 53 and loving this ride with my dad at 88 and my son at 13. Three generations of Leicester and all true blue

For those on this thread interested in stats, I looked at the following last night:

THE LAST 38 PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES:

Ars 78

Man C 77

Lei 74

Tott 66

THE LAST 32 PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES i.e. starting with West Ham at home:

Lei 69

Man C 65

Ars 60

Tott 56

Means nothing, but it makes me happy.

You love our Wes...

We are lucky to have such a leader like him, he is a big leader behind the scenes.. what Wes says goes type of thing. This is a huge thing that we have over the other top 3 teams challenging for the title..  Arsenal have no leaders at all, this has always been Arsenals problem for a very long time and why they always fail, no leaders since Viera and Adams left them. Spurs have no real big leaders in their team, and Man City do have a leader which is Kompany but he has been injured and out for so long that they lack a leader and its showed. this is a huge thing we have over them all.

Alex Ferguson always said you can;t win the prem without a a strong leader in the team and I 100% agree with him, its true.

I'm calling it now... Man City will feck us over and we'll finish second a few points short.

Baaaaaaah humbug :)

Not BTS Babs, I have a good feeling about tomorrow.

Fortunately pundits and reporters have abandoned the exceptionally stupid turn of phrase 'no one wants to win the premier league this season'.
