Gerard Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 If the teams in the top five take the same points on average as they have the last 62 games (two seasons) then the table will be: Man City 75.45pts Arsenal 72.09 Leicester 70.54 Tottenham 69.61 Man Utd 64.83 So 76pts will be enough to win it if teams average their points return over the last 14 games since they have been doing since August 2014. 26 more points could be enough for us. 7 wins 5 draws 2 losses. It looks quite doable for us.
GaelicFox Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Jaysus Can't we just enjoy Tuesday and get excited for Saturday and worry about April and May when we arrive there ? I appriciate the effort but it's all a bit premature Can you tell me the average points over last 5 years 3rd and 4th place ? That would be very cool to know , because we could be close to that For me valantines day looks huge ! The top 4 all playing each other and only 5 pts between them , unfortunately maybe less come Monday morning !
AKCJ Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Can we just hurry up and win the damn thing so I don't need to read another of these regurgitated stats-mad threads? As the famous song goes... Que sera sera.,whatever will be will be. Let's just enjoy the ride.
Merging Cultures Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 For me valantines day looks huge ! Me too, the wife has even put it on our calendar!!
foxes161 Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 After these next two games we have 9 very winnable ones
UPinCarolina Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 The most important thing is getting into the Champions League, followed by the title. Europe or bust.
ramboacdc Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 someone needs to stop spurs. we will focus on slowing city
yorkie1999 Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Man city, spurs, us in third, arsenal will drop off and may get pipped to 4th.
Tuna Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Man City V Arsenal is the penultimate game of the season.

Harry - LCFC Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 I like how the first few responses to these threads are often populated by people whining about the need to "enjoy the ride". There's nothing about this kind of statistical analysis that means you can't enjoy the season. If you don't like this sort of thing that's absolutely fine, but please don't bore us with your complaining as you will continue to be ignored by those who do want to talk about this sort of thing.
Babylon Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Man City V Arsenal is the penultimate game of the season. Be nice to win it at home against Everton when they drop points... I'm joking, can we take it one game at a time please. I just want to enjoy this feeling rather than worrying about actually winning stuff... day dreaming of Wes Morgan lifting the trophy is currently a daily event. I don't want to get all serious and start actually thinking it's going to happen.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 I'm glad Claudio is down to earth, feet on the ground and sensibly taking one game at a time

Me too mate, can't stop thinking about Big Wes holding the prem trophy, it was beautiful to see him do it in the championship and he will do it again in the prem, I'm sure of it.

If it's a choice between us or Arsenal/Spurs, you can imagine that Chelsea would be quite keen to give us the title rather than their London rivals....
FireFox Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Man City V Arsenal is the penultimate game of the season.Sky will ruin it for us, scheduling that game after ours so we don't win it on our own result. We will have beaten Everton and be 5 points above Man City and Arsenal. Hours later, it is 0-2. Then in stoppage time, Aguero scores twice to equalize and win us the league.

Man City will feck us over and we'll finish second a few points short.

It would be a fairytale ending to win it at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea fans would love us to stop any of the other three winning it and with Ranieri and Huth still popular in west London and there's Andy King as well. I could imagine a very docile Chelsea crowd willing us on.

DangerFox Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 I think it'd be a better idea to judge us on the West Ham game from end of last season when Andy King scored. That's the wave we are riding now.
TrentFox Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Nine wins from last 14 games would see us mightily close. Just throw the kitchen sink at every game. We literally have nothing to lose as nobody expects us to win the thing. It's like having free bets at the casino!! The sports science team and the man-management skills of our coaches will be tested well as they have to keep all pressure away and let the players enjoy and savour every second. Play with a smile, determination and freedom.

ramboacdc Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 lets sum this up...to win the title we need to get more points than the other teams. we do our job let others do theirs!
