Anyone got any ideas how I can get through all this? I’m teetering.

Keep reminding yourself that it will get better, because it will. I've been through difficult spells, nothing extremely serious but still unpleasant times, and things do get better. Keep yourself busy and do physical exercise.

Keep talking. Seek out AA or similar, people with comparative experiences. DM friends on here, you'll be amazed what asking for help elicits in others.

Ive heard very good things about Turning Point in Leicester. Go to your docs tomorrow and he/she should refer you to someone who can help immediately. Stay strong, take yourself out for a walk but with no money or access to buying alcohol whilst your out. When i was going through a difficult period i found walking cleared my head no end. Take care of yourself.

From my knowledge in this field, it is important to keep talking, as others have noted; and exercise will help too. The fact you have been so honest on this forum shows you can sort this; it's a great start. As been suggested Turning Point are a great organisation for problems such as yours. I would strongly suggest calling them tomorrow 0300 3033 6000 or, if in Leicester, visit 38 Friar Lane (9-5 weekdays). Your situation is  far from unusual; TP can help you through this. Alternatively, Talking Therapies https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/talking-therapies-medicine-treatments/talking-therapies-and-counselling/nhs-talking-therapies/ may be very helpful, or contact your GP, or 111.

Best wishes; when you get through this (as you will) let others know what worked for you and to show everyone can do similar.

At our lowest points I think what is really important is trying to focus on the now and taking baby steps.

Focus on the washing up, and then making the dinner, then going for a walk, then whatever you might be watching or reading. I spend way too much time overthinking but all that we can really do is take action in the present and try and be more in the moment. Thinking too big picture, especially in times of need, I find often ends up in a negative thought spiral that catastrophises everything and makes me feel worse.

Whatever it is your doing, however small, just focus on it until the next thing you need to focus on. Step by step, you'll get through the day.

Keep going bud, you're stronger than you think you are.

I got this as well

Bioresonance is one of the most effective methods
Some of these strategies - for example, to pay attention to peer pressure, to engage, to ask for support, to be aware of the temptation and to insist - can be useful for people who want to leave alcohol completely. However, if you cannot get results, you can try the bioresonance method known as frequency medicine. Alcohol use sessions that provide 92 %success in alcohol use disorder will make you reluctant to alcohol by performing the frequency level of your body at a frequency level and will be very great support for you to remove alcohol completely from your life or to drink limited level.

I take it you're on thyroxine already? If your levels are low that will definitely be affecting your mood, so hopefully once you get that stabilised you'll feel a lot better.

Appreciate having to wait is rubbish though!

Yes already on them. Yep you’d think my anti depressants would help counter that but they don’t. Just can’t stop falling asleep and it’s doing my head in because then when I do get a few hours where I wake up it can be at the most obscure times.

I’m just going to end it all. Not felt like this bad for ages. Can’t take it anymore

Call 116 123 and speak to someone. Human contact is so important during times like this. It'll help.

Please don't Chris! Get whatever help you can, even if it's just talking to somebody professional.

I've been there mate and I'm so relieved I didn't do it. It might not seem like it right now but there are brighter days ahead

Don't go just yet, there's lots you'll miss and it's not your time to leave.

I really hope you hold on chris. I know it sounds silly, but I see you posting in the wordle thread every day. Think about tomorrow’s Wordle game you’ll miss. Sometimes just focusing on the small things you’ll miss about the universe is enough to hold on one more night.

Hang in there Chris. If you're really struggling with the wait at the doctors give 111 a call or go to your nearest walk in centre and explain the impact that the delay is having on your health. Be as honest as you are on here and you'll find that they'll either fast track you or at the very least help with medication that can stabilise you and get you through until your consultation. I can only imagine the impact that this is having on you, but there are brighter days ahead, I can assure you of that.

I’m still here btw. Just gonna try and sleep the world away instead. I’m not brave enough to do what my head would like me to do.

Please listen to everyone, there are many options to consider. Don’t sleep, talk to any one of the organisations mentioned previously, things will get better but you need to address things rather than ignoring them, they won’t go away on their own.
Don’t give up.
Best of luck to you.

Next week will be the six-month of my current unemployment spell.

It has surprised me that haven't got anything, as had applied carefully for various jobs and numerous agencies (recruitment agencies can apparently be quite hit-and-miss).

But have been volunteering to keep skills in-check since leaving last role, but am continually wondering if can ever be employed again etc.
