PMQ's

It's really funny until you realise these men want to run our Country...

Yeah I expect a much higher standard of banter from our country's supposed best & brightest.

I don't get the chance to watch it very often but I like it. You can't beat a bit of cut and thrust.

It's just pantomime bollocks. It's certainly not even close to being an example of Parliamentary accountability at its finest.

Not sure how Cameron can take the piss out of how someone looks when he literally looks like a chunk of boiled ham dressed in a suit, dish faced bellendย

There's nothing wrong with pantomimes.

This is what happens when Cameron goes off script, he exposes himself as the shallow elitist tw@ he really is, I mean for fvcks sake, "buy a proper suit and straighten your tie" he is the leader of this country not the sixth form. I bet his mum is cringing with embarrassmentย especially when Corbyn's response put him in his place, something that seems to have been overlooked somewhat.

ย

The only thing more pathetic than his remark was the tory braying in response to it.

That's what I was trying to emulate in my first post, what a brilliantly smart and earnest backbench they have.

Personally love the way our House of Commons is, democracy and political debate should be loud, robust and exciting, give me this over something like the senate any day of the week, one of the best things about British politics, we would miss it if it went.

ย

No need for the cheapshot about Corbyn's dress sense again, he has had him pretty easily this last few weeks anyway without resorting to that (even Kebin Maguire scored the last PMQ's to Cameron), Corbyn really does look like a man at PMQ's who has never even spoken about politics with a person who disagrees with him.

ย

Although this was funny yesterday, I felt for Eagle and Burnham sat next to him, you can tell they want to burst out laughing but can't. lol

It was quite funny. ย But I only ever laugh that long and hard at something that funny if I'm trying to be a colossal cvnt to some kid on the playground twenty years ago at primary school. ย Do MPs not go through character development during their lives?

I agree Corbyn's response has been overlooked but what a response it was.

ย

DC: "I know what his mother would say, she'd say "put on a proper suit, do up his tie and sing the national anthem".

JC: "My late mother would have told me to stand up for the NHS because she dedicated her life to it"

Doesn't exactly paint MPs in a good light and it's probably an indication as to where politics has come, ie point scoring and grabbing media headlines being more important than real policy discussion, albeit I don't know what PMQs were like decades ago so I can't really compare.

Unfortunately it seems we're going the American route where brash and outlandish behaviour gets rewarded so you win if you shout loud enough that people can't hear the others speak. ย "Well, people are talking about him so he must be doing something right."

It puts the PM of the day under the scrutiny of our elected representatives on a weekly basis. I can't see the downside personally.

But it's not real scrutiny is it? Because there is a lot more baying and petty point scoring than there is real policy discussion. You can tell that there is a rehearsed party line to key questions and the PM will hammer out that line however the question is shaped, I learn more about the immaturity of the MPs as a whole from PMQs than I do about what the government is up to.

It's up to the opposition to think of questions that can't be dodged.

I thought it was a poor response.should have focused on not wasting 1000s on a saville row suit.love to see Corbyn turn up in top hat and tails next week and ask Cameron if this reminds him of Oxford.

Tbf if we're going to be the one and only source of our policies it would be really nice if our politicians could actually debate them like adults instead of needing to be 'caught out' during their posh Wednesday night rap battles. ย The only time you see similar scenes in EU parliament is when Nigel Farage shows up to make one of his cries for attentionย hyperbolic rants sensibly thought out and realistic points which nobody else was brave enough to mention.

Well they do debate policies at other times as well but the PM isn't usually there. It's half an hour once a week, I can't get angry about it no matter how hard I try.

That's ok, I have more than enough PMQ anger to go around.
