filbertway Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Spurs, Draw, Arsenal in that order for me. I'd rather it become a 2 horse race.
Detroit Blues Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I think some people here fear Arsenal more than Spurs, that's why some might want a draw or a Spurs victory. It's a lot easier to be in a two team race for the title than a three team race. So maybe it might benefit us for Arsenal to be so far behind us that we wont need to look over our shoulder at them making a late title push down the stretch.
filbertway Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I find this a strange thread - why give a **** about how our immediate competition plays in their head-to-head encounter when we ought to make sure we keep on amassing as many points possible ourselves. All these predictions are for naught if we can't keep up our own great run of play - provided we're now really getting serious about that title challenge. I'd rather let them worry about each other themselves. I take more enjoyment in browsing through their respective forums and seeing how close they are to the End Of The World As They Know It. Oh, none of us will actually play against Watford.

Oxfordfox83 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 We need to beat Watford first. A loss there and a Spurs win spells disaster. Disaster? Really? Do you think Spurs are that good that they'll never drop another point? A loss there and a Spurs win is a setback. Luckily, they're massive chokers. Not a disaster at all...
m4DD0gg Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 To be honest i can see spurs getting rinsed big time for their manager and delicatessen ali
ithuriel Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Arsenal win, if we then beat Watford that leaves a six point gap with only 27 points left to play for, leaving us needing a maximum of 22 points required and that is if the second placed team was to collect maximum points from their remaining games.
dedlock Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 A plague on both! A draw,I suppose will suit us best provided we win at Watford.
char123 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I just want to win the title to shut that cock of a spurs fan up who was on sky sports sayin they would win it because arsenal are bottlers and leicester are nobody, f****n p***k
Bazly Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 If Leicester City win at the weekend this is a crucial match. Arsenal win and the EPL becomes Leicester's to lose with a 6 point gap and 9 games to go. Once the points match the games it becomes virtually impossible to overhaul. So if Leicester win then the title race either becomes a one horse run in unless the horse falls on a blade of grass or a two horse run in if Spurs win as well. If Leicester draw or lose at the weekend then its still a free for all. So a win is essential to essentially knock all but 18 or all but 19 teams out of the title race.
Raj Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Arsenal win. Then with their superiority complex they will think they are unbeatable.... And lose the next 3 games!!!
Foxbythesea Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I would defiantly go for a draw because if we win on Saturday and they both draw, it would give us an even bigger gap from second place. If not then I defiantly would want Arsenal to win.
Monsell1976 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Doesn't matter about what anyone else does, we need to keep winning ourselves. As we have saw the last two games, doesn't matter who we play, results are going to be hard to achieve. Watford are not safe yet, so will be fighting for points, Newcastle are in the shite, so will be fighting for their lives.
Itsthejoeker Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Arsenal win or Draw, we need to capitalise on that though!
Nick Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 5 red cards, several injuries and a mass fan walkout. Any result is fine after that.
ThaiFox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Arse'nal win please. If not, a draw, but no way a spuds win. Nothing really matters though as long as we keep winning. Watford is another of those matches like WBA where we are playing a team who have have the freedom to play as they wish. Better if we are playing teams with a lot to play for so they feel pressure.
Great Boos Up Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Spuds win and we a potential 3 points difference with 9 games to play Gooners win and we have a potential 6 points difference with 9 games to play and the goal difference eases to our favour. No brainer! I don't get this draw mentality.
Sharpe's Foxes Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I don't mind Totenham winning. That would basically demoralize Arsenal and finish them off making it a two team race.
Sharpe's Foxes Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Also if Arsenal lose they may be in a 4 team battle for champions league with United, city and west ham. So the focus will shift for hem to securing top 4 and they will be under massive pressure.
weller54 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I'm going for a 0-0... Both teams will be scared to play.
Thracian Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Hard to see anything but a Spurs win but I'd much prefer a draw. Our only concern should be to focus on winning. This game and all the others. Keep breaking the hearts of the chasing pack until the gap looks after itself. "No retreat, baby, no surrender!"
Sharpe's Foxes Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I think the more teams in the race the worse it is because then it can come down to luck i the scheduling. For example in. 3 team race chances are one of the teams may play a team that has nothing to play for while the other two play teams either in a relegation battle or for Europe. The fewer the teams the less uncertainty and the less luck becomes a factor in the outcome
biggs Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Hard to see anything but a Spurs win but I'd much prefer a draw. Our only concern should be to focus on winning. This game and all the others. Keep breaking the hearts of the chasing pack until the gap looks after itself. "No retreat, baby, no surrender!" Not the way results have gone this year. Arsenal will win just to give their fans some hope before deflating once again. Spurs looked nervous yesterday and played that way too....heavy feet, poor timing. I see Arsenal winning by a few tomorrow.
BoyJones Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 0-0 and four ACL's, Sanchez, Ozil, Ali and Kane. Obviously joking about the injuries!! But a knock here or there on key players wouldn't come amiss.
Great Boos Up Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Has to be an Arsenal win for me! It's all about our rivals 'maximum achievable' points totals... At the moment, with 30 points to play for: Spurs can reach 84, Arsenal 81, City 80, United 77, also, dare I say,Hammers 76! An Arsenal win won't increase their maximum, but would reduce Spurs' to 81... In context, that would mean that, should either, (or both), Arsenal/Tottenham equal our 2015 end of season, (22 points from 9 games), it would leave us needing to total a not unthinkable 77 points to take the title...Unless one of the chasing pack can win probably 8 of their final 9 games. The one concern I have re Spurs is their goal difference...Still superior to ours..hence we need them to drop an extra point somewhere along the line! This! a sensible mathematical response. At no point during our great escape were we looking at the 16th place team! We were always looking to catch the next team above us then the next. It should be the same vice versa. Spuds must lose. And we concentrate on the next game rather than looking two or three teams down.
