Arriba Los Zorros Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Draw no brainier, two title rivals dropping points better than 1. What he said. Voting for an Arsenal win is extreme short-termism, especially as they have a home game week after and Spurs are away (although away at Villa..) To put it another way: Arse + Spuds draw, we win = 5 ahead of Spuds and 8 ahead of Arse Arse win + we win = 6 ahead of both 1st scenario much better IMO
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Draw. Mind you Arsenal win would be fine too - with Cech out for a bit and Arsenal being the bottlers they are, Arsenal win might actually be a better result in the long run. 2 losses on the bounce for our nearest rivals too Basically not a Spurms win please

To put it another way: Arse + Spuds draw, we win = 5 ahead of Spuds and 8 ahead of Arse Arse win + we win = 6 ahead of both 1st scenario much better IMO It's not if we lose the title on goal difference when that 1 extra point would have done it. An Arsenal win for me. The bigger the gap to second is what I am focussed on. It's a hard decision and I wouldn't really care if it was a draw, but I'd chose an Arsenal win, the bigger the better to bring us closer to spurs on GD.
Grey Fox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Draw. Mind you Arsenal win would be fine too - with Cech out for a bit and Arsenal being the bottlers they are, Arsenal win might actually be a better result in the long run. 2 losses on the bounce for our nearest rivals too Basically not a Spurms win please Agreed, by far the most important thing.
MonmoreStef Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Draw for me. Got a feeling the season is taking its toll on Spurs. I still think Arsenal will finish ahead of them. That said I'd hate a Spurs win as we want to kick off at Watford still 2 or 3 points clear with a chance to really push on.
jonesy9 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Hi As a die hard Hammers fan I'd hate to see Spurs pick up any points from anywhere. I'm so glad we did you a favour last night and trust you will now go on and win the title.PLEASE i fear for my neighbourhood if Spurs win it as we will obviously have to go on a rampage of destruction!
Littletoe Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Draw, as it doesn't benefit either of them in the chasing pack for the title....
Dan Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 If we win, Arsenal win. If we draw or lose, draw. If us and Arsenal win we are six clear with 9 games left - SIX CLEAR WITH NINE GAMES LEFT, with the worst away side in the country coming here next.
bluebeau Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I voted for them to draw but I have changed my mind. Provided we win, I would prefer Arsholes to win but unfortunately I think the Yids will win. Kane gets sent of for calling the ref - "You thtupid thucker!"
FoxCal Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Right now, a draw would be best. If we're to win at the weekend, then an Arsenal win would be ideal.
Fox92 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Draw, no doubt about it. If we win, Arsenal win. If we draw or lose, draw. If us and Arsenal win we are six clear with 9 games left - SIX CLEAR WITH NINE GAMES LEFT, with the worst away side in the country coming here next. Just don't say that!
The Doctor Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Draw or an arsenal win - either is fine. Arsenal will never win the league, you can set your watch by their annual bottle-job leaving spurs as the main opposition so any dropped points on their part is ideal.
SecretPro Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 We need to beat Watford first. A loss there and a Spurs win spells disaster.
char123 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Gunners. 5-0 please. If we're going for the title, who cares how the third-place team does. It'd be a disaster if we lost the title having no chance on goal difference. Yeah i would be happy with that. I was saying yesterday that we really need to try to do something about that goal difference as it could very well come down to it!!
Foxmeister Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I voted draw but tbh all 3 results have some benefit - draw chance to go clear later in the day and 1 point evaporates completely. Arsenal win guaranteed top Sat night and chance to go 6 clear - Spurs win still a good chance of still being top and only 2 teams with a decent chance of the title.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 There is no way of knowing whats best really because Spurs and Arsenal kick off first. We won't know what the best result is for Leicester until we have played Watford. If we had kicked off early for example and beaten Watford, then you'd prefer the Arsenal win to be 6 points clear of both. However, if we had only drew or lost to Watford, then the draw would have been the better result as having 2 shared between 2nd and 3rd is better than 3 points being given out given our slender lead.
urban.spaceman Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Would have to go for an Arsenal win, surely? I'd rather go into the Watford game 3 points ahead of Spurs and Arsenal than 2nd in the league on goal difference or just 2 points ahead of Spurs. In the long run I don't really see Arsenal as a threat so I don't begrudge them 3 points on Saturday. I can't believe I've just said any of that.
SaffronDom Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 A draw maybe the biggest metaphorical 3 points we have ever got as a club... So come on spurs n gunners give us the 0-0 aka bore draw us city fans would love to see
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Draw would be ideal. Neither team will think they can afford to lose. If one does, the impact would be huge.
CPW22 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Arsenal win. Get anything from the Watford game and we'll have the comfort of leading by more than 3 points from second. Although, part of me does think the Europa league will catch up with Spurs so maybe a draw and moving further ahead of third isn't the worst idea.
foxfanazer Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 The confidence of winning this game could really kick start a strong run of form to the end of the season. A shoddy 0-0 draw would be best imo. I can see people's points about an Arsenal win but I'm just worried about the boost in confidence they'd take from it
MC Prussian Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I find this a strange thread - why give a **** about how our immediate competition plays in their head-to-head encounter when we ought to make sure we keep on amassing as many points possible ourselves. All these predictions are for naught if we can't keep up our own great run of play - provided we're now really getting serious about that title challenge. I'd rather let them worry about each other themselves. I take more enjoyment in browsing through their respective forums and seeing how close they are to the End Of The World As They Know It.
