DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 I was in Costa yesterday, in my City shirt, when this old chap, who was in his eighties spoke to me. He said he had lost interest in the game many years ago, because it was always the big money teams who achieved. However, this season has got him very excited, and he is praying for us to shock the world of football. I bought him a coffee for that.
Dr The Singh Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Other fans can foook off, don't need there support, w@nkers!!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 I don't understand the coming for you chant. It'd make sense if it was like Arsenal top of the league with ten games to go, having a wobble, and Spurs rapidly closing the gap by beating some team they weren't expected to. But we're poxy Leicester, most people still think we'll bottle it anyway, they were winning a game everyone expected them to win and they were just bringing the gap to five points again where it's been for ages. Weird. This

zeke Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 I'm a Celtic supporter and really hope you win the EPL. Lots of my fellow Celtic supporters are delighted with you being on top of EPL and hope you stay there. Good luck.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 a spurs fan at work who went said bournemouth were weirdos and singing about us. clearly left out the fact that they mentioned us too. They are all singing about us. Arsenal nicked Chelsea's we all follow the Chelsea over land and sea and Leicester chant the game after they beat us, that was probably the last time they sang it is as United beat them as did Swansea and they're now so far adrift they've probably accepted the game is all but up.
Jock Wallace Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 On Sunday, when Tottenham were beating Bournemouth, spurs fans sang, "We're coming for you, we're coming for you, Leicester City, we're coming for you." To which the Bournemouth fans replied, "Leicester City, they're top of the League." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/pa/article-3501634/Harry-Kane-shines-Tottenham-close-gap-Leicester-Bournemouth-win.html You get the impression 'smaller' clubs fans like what we're doing. I'd love it if there was a chant on Sunday to thank them. "When did football fans become so generous as to start singing songs on behalf of other clubs? Bournemouth supporters regularly broke into chants of, 'Leicester City, they're top of the league' at White Hart Lane. Will Leicester fans next return the favour with 'Bournemouth are staying up'?"

I don't think they were doing it in our honour, but more as a way of winding up Spurs and take the shine off their win.

Absolutely not
Gerard Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 I hate Spurs with a passion, always have. They're the scum of London, there's a reason why they're only the third biggest club but by far the most hated. If you see their fans they have a much higher percentage of ugly, scruffy, smelly twats. I will take just as much pleasure as them losing it as much as us winning it.

Pablito Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 My cousin was in Spain last week and got stopped for speeding (147 km in a 120) in his hire car near Valencia. When the policeman saw his driving licence he said " you live in Leicester? "my cousin replied" yes " the policeman then exclaimed "Leicester City champions!" with a nice big grin on his face...btw, he still had to pay the 50 Euro fine
Zabbasbeard_MCFC Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 Of course Leicester don't need any other fans "supporting" them to win the League. You make enough noise on your own, but I'm not a fan of the clackers I have to say Now my beloved Manchester City (being following them 35 years) aren't going to win it, I really hope Leicester do. It would be great, besides I've always quite liked Leicester City since I was a lad - something about the kit, partic the Admiral one, Frank Worthington, Keith Weller (remember that Match of the Day when your 2nd division team inspired by Weller in the tights (snigger!) running the game and spanking Naarwich 3-0 (enjoyed the company of Leicester fans whenever we've played or work colleagues (yes of course every club has its knob heads including my own). I really cannot stand Tottenham (never have liked them) and don't care much for Arsenal or any other of the other so-called big clubs - their sense of entitlement and arrogance is nauseating. Seeing Leicester - a club MCFC have done battle with over the years - without hassle - we've gone down together (86/87), both been in the 3rd division for one season at different times, rivalled you for the (some might say dubious honour) of numbers of Division 2 Championships - currently stands at 7 apiece and long may it stay that way. Don't know about you, but I've had enough of relegation having suffered 5. Does anyone in football hate Leicester? You tell me. I don't even know any Forest fans who are bothered about you, and I know a few!!! Anyway, we should have finished better at the King Power this season and taken the points, your lads played us off the park at our ground, and more than a few of us were happy to clap you off, even if there were two or three, er, robust tackles. Enough of the "love in". I am gutted Manchester City have collapsed like we have this season and would not have minded pipping to it had we been good enough, but good luck if you need it. If this upsets anyone, tough but I really hope you win it now. CTID
Guest Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 I think an interesting discussion is the psychology of teams playing against Leicester. Typically anybody facing the team at the top would go into a match with a certain hunger to claim a big scalp, or bring the leaders down a notch. Not that any opponent is going to give us a free pass, but I'm sure there's slightly less drive when playing a 1st place Leicester, than say 1st place United, Arsenal, Chelsea etc.
Jacnah Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 I'm a Saints fan. It's not so much that I really love Leicester (man) - it's more the case of hating all the usual teams that are up there. The best thing is seeing the media squirm. They nearly wet themselves when WBA equalized v you the other week and the mighty Tottenham had a chance to go top. Don't worry - once you've won the league 5 times in a row and 'half the world' starts to wear Leicester shirts (instead of Liverpool or Man Utd ones) then I'll hate you. To be honest, I had the same feelings about you a couple of seasons back when you were sticking it to the Mancs. We've taken it one step further (and hopefully will keep it going all the way) so fully appreciate people loving it (which is a very different matter from loving us). The schadenfreude of watching Wenger explain why Arsenal aren't Champions and we are will be delicious, as will watching Lawrenson try to keep hold of his 'expert' title after the endless times he just asserts without basis that the big sides will win. Glad people are rooting for us, and absolutely appreciate that that's not because of who we are, but who we aren't. Hopefully our boys can deliver, and we won't care what anyone else thinks of it if they do... two great posts
MC Prussian Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 There must be about 93 out of the 96 teams in the Football League supporting us now. That amounts to roughly 96% of all professional football teams in England and Wales. But let's not allow the two sour spoilsports from the capital to meddle with us.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 There must be about 93 out of the 96 teams in the league supporting us now. 96 teams in the league?
PhillippaT Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 96 teams in the league? How far down the pyramid do we want to go?

ItalianGuyWhoLikesLCFC Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 As you can guess from my profile picture I'm a Juventus fan but, as almost every football fan in Italy in these months, I'm supporting LCFC. That's obviously because of Ranieri: though he managed several high-level teams in Italy (Juventus, Inter, Roma, Fiorentina), he's well-liked by everyone (with the exception of Lazio fans, probably). He achieved some good results almost everywhere, but what he's doing at LCFC is unbelievable. Fairy tales sometimes become true. I must admit that, despite being a fan of one of the most succesful teams in football history, I'm envying you: I really can't imagine how it feels to be so close to the victory of a lifetime, but I'm sure it must feel veeeeeery good Let's go, Foxes!
chriswailesITFC Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 Ipswich Fan here. Just wanted to echo the words others have said - it's great what is happening with Leicester this season. I can understand why some people may feel bitter about other people routing for your team, but I'm sure you've all done it - either in world cups, or champions league games etc. It's rare you watch a game without wanting one team to win slightly more than the other - even if it's for fairly pointless reasons. Hopefully the bitterness can go and you can enjoy the fact that the country is behind you! It has definitely made football exciting again this year - our forum www.twtd.co.uk regularly has threads about you. The fact you have kept the spine of the team from your Championship season is great, your manager is a hero and a gentleman and I've had a soft spot for Wes Morgan ever since he captained my team to success on LMA Manager in 2004. Best of luck for the season!
