Will the team survive the Summer?

no i am afraid they're all snowmen and will melt

Haha.

It largely depends on how well we do in the next seven games.

Tbh this did cross my mind earlier reading about Kante. Really saddens me how money rules the game these days. Would be such a shame for us to get torn apart in the summer before having our CL season.

Why are people even thinking about the summer. We are on the verge of greatness. Worry about the next 7 games.

All this worrying about players leaving. If they go then so be it. If they deliver us a league title then they have more than earned our respect and if bigger and better things are offered to them then can you blame them for going?

Its not like Kante turned around and said 'I want out of Leicester come and get me'. He is merely keeping his options open as would any player at any club.

Anything can happen in the world of football so focus on what's happening now and not thinking ifs and buts about the future.

Perfectly put. Enjoy this unbelievable season: in 20 years when we're back in Division One/championship/superelite premier amazeballs league/whatever else they're calling the second tier, we'll be reliving this season as much as we can. Enjoy being here now!

If we sell them its because they want to leave so let them go, its then down to club to get replacements, look at Southampton had their team pillaged and they are still a top 7 club in the prem and with a good end to the season could push all the way to the champs league. If we sell its down to the club to replace the sold players and to be honest I have full faith that with the money we will get next season they will do it, and do it in style.

Panic over lets just enjoy the end of the season!

I really don't worry about it, both will have three years left on their contracts this summer so the power is very much with the club. They'll only leave for a fee the club are happy with and it's probably a decent strategy to sell players who are at their peak values.

We are well positioned to get replacements as we are an attractive proposition for all but the very elite players and we have financial muscle and great recent pedigree in signing players.

Whatever happens with our best players in the summer it will all be done in the interest of the club.

If we blow it and end up as bridesmaids, yes, I can see the likes of Kante and Mahrez going, perhaps Vardy too.

If we win the league however, I have a feeling they will stay, as they'll have better salaries to go with the fact that they'll be the PL Champs playing in the Champions League, whilst of course being the defending Champs in the league. Think they'll feel the honour of being part of that collective unit under Ranieri. And the magnitude of what they achieved will keep them loyal for another season at least.

Also, they're both still young and a disastrous next season is hardly going to affect their market value, if anything clubs will be climbing over one another even more to try to get them, should things go pear shaped for us in 2016/17.

If Vardy goes, for whatever reason even though he re-signed a new contract on a better deal, then contracts mean absolutely nothing

Agree. But when you have clubs like Chelsea and Man City who have both spent billions of pounds in literally 4 or 5 years, that buy-out clause is redundant.

Everything wrong with Football at the moment, it's bulls**t.

If we win the league I genuinely don't care. We will have completed football.

Every story deserves a sequel ;)

Exactly. Whatever happens, we will have done it!! I'm still in a daze thinking about what it's going to be like.

I know exactly what you mean, it would kinjd of be the end of football really. It wont get any better in our lifetime!

Absolutely. That's why I was p1ssed that NUFC were able to swoop for Benitez, at the 11th hour like that. They are also an example of money ruining football, the most obvious reason (in their case) being that they have achieved absolutely nothing, despite having a billionaire owner who's splashed sh1t loads of cash around..

It pisses me off too because every player, especially at a "little" Club like ours, if you will, no players are a certainty to stay. It's a joke and something that needs to be looked into a fixed.

Don't think it's a new thing tbf, or even limited to 'little' clubs. Think Van Persie to Man Utd, Ronaldo to Madrid, Figo crossing the Clasico line. Everyone can be pillaged if the player wants to go. But:

Just as our story, unlike others, is not built on money, I think we have something else in our team that players appreciate. The spirit amongst the squad, good management, investment in their health and development, recruitment for future growth, and making a real difference in a club with a brand new global profile are all sincerely "money can't buy" reasons to stay.

Not to say players won't be tempted, but I think they'd think twice before following the big names and big bucks. We have a lot to offer, and I reckon we'll lose one first teamer at most...

I think we will keep all of our starting 11. The only real doubts would be Kante and Mahrez as there will be a lot of interest from continental clubs. I cannot see either of them going to another PL club. Why would you?

Barca, PSG or Real Madrid possibly, but why go to benchwarm there rather than start every CL game with us.

If the wheels fall off next year then they can go with our blessing at Christmas. Skybet has us at 50/1 for the title next season (rather long odds for champions elect) so it is still expected.

It really is a case of will the Leicester team go the same way of Southampton, have a good season only to be immediately dismantled by your rivals taking on the star players. Though many of the Southampton star players have hardly starred for their new teams. Hopefully the Leicester board will have a transfer out policy that precludes selling to the usual suspect, the self proclaimed 'elite' of the EPL. With todays soundings that Kante is open to offers the Summer could be a busy period on the transfer market for Leicester City. Lets not forget the entire back line has matured nicely and needs transitioning out over then next 2 seasons.

I think there could well be a lot of new largely unknown faces for the start of the 2016/17 season which would be like starting out all over again.

Southampton were never in the same position we find ourselves in, only a complete disaster would see us in the Europa League rather than the Champions League and if we win the league then oh my god. We really should get through to the knockout stages if we strengthen and it's dreamland. Even Mahrez and Kante could do another year or so with us.

Champions League - I think Kante and Riyad stay, mainly because they're only 25 and they have 3 years remaining on their contracts. Have another great season and a big team come in (Real,Barca,Bayern, Man City, PSG etc).......they're gone! and who wouldn't blame them or begrudge them the opportunity. Same goes for Kasper as i suppose 29 isn't that old for a keeper.

Vardy is staying not worries, as are Huth, Wes and Simpson. Fuchs as well until he moves USA in 2 years. I would imagine King will stay.

The big one in the summer is Drinkwater as he'll have 2 years left on his deal, and if he goes the Euro's we need to get him on a new deal sharpish.
