Bazly Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 It really is a case of will the Leicester team go the same way of Southampton, have a good season only to be immediately dismantled by your rivals taking on the star players. Though many of the Southampton star players have hardly starred for their new teams. Hopefully the Leicester board will have a transfer out policy that precludes selling to the usual suspect, the self proclaimed 'elite' of the EPL. With todays soundings that Kante is open to offers the Summer could be a busy period on the transfer market for Leicester City. Lets not forget the entire back line has matured nicely and needs transitioning out over then next 2 seasons. I think there could well be a lot of new largely unknown faces for the start of the 2016/17 season which would be like starting out all over again.
kingcarr21 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Why are people even thinking about the summer. We are on the verge of greatness. Worry about the next 7 games. All this worrying about players leaving. If they go then so be it. If they deliver us a league title then they have more than earned our respect and if bigger and better things are offered to them then can you blame them for going? Its not like Kante turned around and said 'I want out of Leicester come and get me'. He is merely keeping his options open as would any player at any club. Anything can happen in the world of football so focus on what's happening now and not thinking ifs and buts about the future.
filbertstreet Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 no i am afraid they're all snowmen and will melt

If we actually win the league they can all spontaneously combust during the friendly with Celtic and I probably wouldn't care that much.
J.Lisemore Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Chill out, enjoy the rest of this amazing season and we'll see what happens...
Adster Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 You're really thinking about this now? Also, our situation is nothing like Southamptons. All they had was a few good players, were they anywhere near top of the table? No. Did they get into the Champions League? No.
ARM1968 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Southampton had faded by now. They didn't have CL football to offer. The money they had and their financial position is not like ours. All in all we are already in a much better position and could possibly end in an unbelievable position. I don't think we will see an exodus as there is no reason for the players to leave in reality.
AKCJ Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I won't stand in Mahrez's or Kante's way as they're clearly world class footballers.
Cincinnati Fox Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I won't stand in Mahrez's or Kante's way as they're clearly world class footballers. Can you stop drinky and vardy going ??
Bluetintedspecs Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I won't stand in Mahrez's or Kante's way as they're clearly world class footballers. Sure they will both be delighted you're not going to stand in their way! I can't wait for Sunday, hopefully it will reduce the amount of ludicrous threads that are popping up

Well said, lets get the rest of this season out of the way first before we speculate about summer. Great performances from our boys last night, and what's with Kante scoring?! Maybe he's now got a taste for blood
dylanlegend Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I won't stand in Mahrez's or Kante's way as they're clearly world class footballers. They have decent contracts, think they should stay at least 1 more season especially to see how far this team can go in the champions league
MPH Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Im resigned to the fact that Mahrez will go at the end of the season,Kante will stay for another season and we will keep vardy until his pace goes and Drinky for a couple more seasons.
Fox92 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Nobody will leave, even more so if we win the league, chill out.
4everfox Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Lets win the league first and then make an official statement of intent, something like "we will not be bullied into selling anybody, if someone wants our players then they need to give us the respect we deserve and break transfer fee records in order to get them". Its not like you see Man United sell their prized assets for pittance. We will need to play hard ball in the summer because after all, we hold all the cards. We name our price which should of course be extortionate and if clubs don't pay up then they don't get the player. No negotiating, the price is the price. Mahrez and Kante should not be sold for anything less then 50 million each.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Southampton have always been a selling club, when was the last time we had our best players taken from us? Granted we've had a lot of shit over the last 15 years but Heskey was the last time one of the 'big' clubs came in for one of our top players wasn't it?
lgfualol Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Can you stop drinky and vardy going ?? Cant imagine we'll have too much trouble keeping those two. Both will stay for CL football.
Babylon Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Southampton have always been a selling club, when was the last time we had our best players taken from us? Granted we've had a lot of shit over the last 15 years but Heskey was the last time one of the 'big' clubs came in for one of our top players wasn't it? That's because we've not had many decent players, where as Southampton have. We are a selling club, perhaps not by choice... but we will sell people. Players will want to go to bigger and more famous teams who can pay more money, that's just the way it is. The likes of United and Liverpool are selling clubs is the right team comes in for their player.
Bedford Fox Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I reckon Mahrez will go but like someone else said lets not think about summer yet we still have 7 massive games to concentrate on
