KS - 6 - usual mixed bag of distribution, didn't have a save of note to make, took some high balls confidently looked uncertain a few times and nearly fvcked up with one bouncing ball.

DS - 9 - some incredible blocks and tackles, thundering headers and it would have been a 10 had he scored.

WM - 9 - immense no problems with Pelle and the floaty crosses from Saints, what a goal.

RH - 7 - good solid game

CF - 8 - superb going forwards and defending, great cross for the goal.

DD - 6 - looked like he was still on England duty first half, too many sideways and backwards passes

NK - 7 - great off the ball but his passing and decision making in the ball was poor today

MA - 8 - love this guy, think he is really under appreciated, his effort makes this team work

RM - 6 - Not at his best, very little came off some good runs and touches, whipped in a very dangerous ball early on and was back defending and doing his bit

SO - 5 - not with it today, caught on his heels a lot and could have had a couple of tap ins if he's been sharper

JV - 7 - good running got behind the defence a couple of times, lots of energy until late on, a bit of a wild tackle and needlessly getting involved a couple times the little rascal

CR - 8 - usual team selection, but was trying to make things happen swapping Albrighton and Mahrez half way through first half, good subs to kill off the game

Saints - 6 - set up to not concede first half no ambition and nearly caught us with one break. More ambition second half but none of their floaty crosses caused any real harm and made some poor decisions when they were in good positions. They were pretty arsey at times, Fonte having a go at Vardy, someone was having a pop at Morgan as they switched ends at the start, Tadic was an eggy little **** when he came on and Wanyama could have been sent off.

Kasper - 7

Simpson - 9

Huth - 8

Morgan - 9

Fuchs - 8

Albrighton - 7

Drinky - 7

Kante - 7

Mahrez - 6

Okazaki - 6

Just about spot on I'd say. Mahrez bit lucky to get 6 but let's be generous. Gray and Ulloa deserve great credit for holding ball up at the end.

Back four all 10's,

kasper 6,

Kante and drinky 8's.

Mahrez 6 looked knackered,

Albrighton 7, worked his socks off, poor final ball.

Okazaki as mahrez, looked knackered 6

Vardy did just about enough 7

Subs

Dyer n/a

Leo gets a 8, thought he held it up well, should have shot when he had a chance.

Gray 8, 8 just for the young lads energy and did well in the tense finish.

Kasper 7 - Did everything asked of him. 2 or 3 really incisive passes out too.

Simpson 5.5  9 - Immense today, loses a mark for his missed sitter. 5.5 lol

Huth 8 - Rock solid

Morgan 10 - Imperious and a goal to boot, flawless.

Fuchs 7 - Solid

Mahrez 6 - Looked knackered, put the hard graft in going back but everytime he got into an attacking position he was pooped.

Kante 7 - Ubiquitous as ever. Wasteful in his forays forward.

Drinkwater 7 - Composed.

Albrighton 6 - Had 4 or 5 opportunities to put a telling delivery or through ball in and failed repeatedly. Goes without saying he did his defensive work perfectly but he could have had a big impact on the game today and could feel slightly disappointed.

Okazaki 5 - A very limited attacker.

Vardy 7 - His approach play is excellent. I'd far sooner we had a 10 who did this for him so he could concentrate on scoring.

N/A for Dyer but Ulloa and Gray in particular get 7s for their excellent work seeing the game out.

Kasper 6 - Shaky commanding, one save to make, didn't look great when Mané was through.

Simpson 8 - The block gives +1, the miss gives -1. Never a handball. Very solid in defense.

Huth 8 - Rock solid, definite handball though.

Morgan 9 - Just as solid as the rest in defense and superb header. Cannot ask for more!

Fuchs 8 - Delicious assist and good crosses all day. So frustrating he didn't just clear it in the 95th minute, which led to us losing possession. Solid otherwise.

Mahrez 5 - Tried but little came off for him. Looked tired. Still made some positive contributions in both directions.

Drinkwater 7 - Standard stuff, looked supremely confident after winning his first cap, as demonstrated by his left foot long range attempt. The flick that set Vardy up for the Simpson chance, mmm-mmm. The pass that nearly lead to a Fonte own goal deserved better. Doesn't get a higher rating because Southampton dominated him for most of the game.

Kanté 8 - Another great performance. I just cannot get my head around how he can win the ball so often without giving away free kicks. Superb carrier of the ball. Him and Drinky didn't control procedings though with Southampton playing three in the middle and Wanyama pushing and shoving everyone and everything.

Albrighton 7 - Standard Albrighton. Some good passes, but once more his shooting leaves a lot to be desired. I definitely feel he's a square peg in a round hole when playing on the left. His crosses find a teammate once every ten attempts or so and he's not a great threat when cutting in. Wouldn't mind him being more on the right side, especially when Mahrez is having a poor game anyway.

Okazaki 5 - Disappointing performance. Back to his usual slips and uncharacteristically poor movement, mainly because he timed his runs wrong. Rightly subbed for Ulloa who had marginally more influence on the game.

Vardy 7 - Standard stuff as well. Oozes confidence despite not having scored in a while for the club. Flicks, tricks and great end product all day combined with superb work rate as we know it.

Subs:

Dyer N/A - Thank fudge for the clearance at the end. Watching him control it first before hacking it clear at the final whistle had my heart in my mouth.

Gray 6 - I still don't think he should feature in such high-pressure games when everything is riding on holding on to the lead. Did alright though and didn't look too fazed.

Ulloa 6 - Good energy and far more presence which gave us more of a foothold than with Okazaki on the pitch. Once more dithered when through on goal. Why oh why does he not pull the trigger? He seems to think he's still got as much time as he maybe got in the Championship.

Morgan or Simpson for MOTM.

CR & Wes - 10

Fuchsy & Simpson - 9

Huth, Kante, Albrighton - 8

Schmeichel, Okazaki, Vardy, Ulloa, Gray - 7

Drinky, Mahrez - 6

Defensively immense. Simpson would be up there with Morgan having 10 in my book if it wasn't for that miss. Wish they bag more next game so we could relax a bit

Why do some people have to be clever and give players .5 ratings? Either round it up or round it down but these silly half marks are bollux. Rant over

Wow these are some of the worst ratings I have seen.

Simpson was immense, easily his best game since coming to Leicester - if he had scored that goal it could have been one of the most complete individual performances I have seen this season.

And I never thought I would say that about Danny Simpson.

Kapser I thought had one of his better game, an absolute Worley of a save in the first half and did enough to drag mane wide and force him into a more difficult shot.

Distribution I thought was his best for a long time, not just looking for the long ball all the time, lots of short balls out to set off attacks, always liking to move things on.

Big Wes and Huth I don't care for reputation and international standing, there is no better CB pairing currently in the Prenier League.

As above for Drinky and Kante, in my life watching Leicester I have seen some fantastic individual midfielders player for us (and some terrible ones too) McCallister, Draper, Parker, Cambiasso but only Lennon and izzet come close to having the partnership and understanding these two have, they compliment each other so well.

Vardy and Okazaki ran their socks off as usual, just didn't have anything fall their way unfortunately.

Albrighton and Fuchs were great as usual on the left, quite game for Mahrez but we let him have one or two of those a season.

Schmeichel 6- Flappy in first half along with one good save. Quiet in second half

Fuchs 7.5- Solid enough and got the assist!

Morgan 9- Turning into one of our most inspirational player- Shaked off jetlag to put in a monster performance and got the goal. I am pleased for him as I would love for all of our squad to look back on this season and to have one match where they have got the winner oran important goal. Huth has Man City, Mahrez has Watford, Vardy has Liverpool, Drinkwater has Stoke etc and now Morgan has Southampton.

Huth 7- Some ballsy defending.

Simpson- 5.5 Mixed game, some silly tackling combined with some fine defending. Our weakest link and for a while Saints threw a lot on his side.

Albrighton 7- His ususal dependable self and did his bit. Some good crosses too.

Drinkwater-6 Not at his best but some good positional play and played some threatening balls including that close miss for an own goal.

N'Kante 7- Shaky in first half and gave away ball on few ocassions. Some fine defensive work and was more of a threat than Okazaki!

Mahrez- 5.5 Huffed and puffed but tried his best

Okazaki- 5 It hurts me to say this as I like the bloke but he always have to ruin our attacking moves least twice every game. Good attacking play in first 15 minutes but faded after that.

Vardy 7- Some clever play and gave it his all.

Dyer 5- Did not really noticed him

Gray 6.5- Used his bag of tricks to troll Southampton- good one son.

Ulloa 6- Made things harder for Saints with some time wasting play. Putting him on corner kicks was a smart move.

Wow very harsh score on Simpson. He was MOTM for me. Brilliant to keep up with Mane and stop his shot going in and it was never a pen despite what Koeman says. He also contributed some other vital defensive pieces and his only down point was he should have scored. Great game in my opinion

Schmeichel  7   Missed one cross and one poor kick out of play. Solid apart from those

Simpson    10    Outstanding and man of the match for me. won some great headers from defending set pieces

Fuchs         8     Usual solid self, brilliant cross for the goal

Morgan       9     Brilliant header for goal and nothing got past him all day

Huth           8      Solid again, great in the air against Pelle

Mahrez      6      Looked shattered quite early on and lacked energy to track back and help simpson

Kante         9      Brilliant again, always there when we needed him

Drinkwater  8     Great energetic performance again, box to box even in 90th minute

Albrighton   7     Didnt do much as an attacking threat but did some great defensive work to help Fuchs

Okazaki      5     Ran alot, nothing came off for him, looked off the pace like mahrez

Vardy         8     Great energy, our best chances come from his runs

SUBS

Ulloa          7     I think we improved when he came on, held the ball better higher up the pitch.

Gray          6      Old head on young shoulders keeping it in the corner for those last 5 minutes

Dyer          N/A    not on long enough

Ranieri       9      changed to a back 3 at time we scored

Southampton 8    Kept ball well and caused us problems, we just defended brilliant

REF        9      I thought he was outstanding and got all the big decisions 100% correct

Schmeichel 7 - thought his distribution was good and took some good catches from crosses.

Simpson 9 - warrior at the back.

Morgan 9 - cracking defensive display and a goal to boot.

Huth 8 - solid.

Fuchs 8 - nice cross for the goal.

Mahrez 6 - fairly ineffective but worked hard.

Kanté 8 - everywhere as per.

Drinkwater 7 - passing a little off at times but got well stuck in.

Albrighton 6 - see Mahrez.

Okazaki 5 - not brilliant

Vardy 7 - worked really hard and scrapped out some decent chances.

Ulloa 6 - thought he held the ball up well and gave us an option to play up to. Should've shot earlier.

Gray 6 - did a solid job in a pressurised situation.

Dyer N/A.

Thought the ref was excellent too.
