justinstanton99 Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Check out this great post from Claudio ! "This player Kanté, he was running so hard that I thought he must have a pack full of batteries hidden in his shorts. He never stopped running in training." http://www.theplayerstribune.com/claudio-ranieri-leicester-city-premier-league/
UPinCarolina Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 If this is a re-post, delete the topic. Great article by Claudio on Leicester's season titled "We Do Not Dream" A big name? No. A big contract? No. You just need to keep an open mind, an open heart, a full battery, and run free. http://www.theplayerstribune.com/claudio-ranieri-leicester-city-premier-league/
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 This should be a quote somewhere on Ranieri's potential statue or something similar: "A big name? No. A big contract? No. You just need to keep an open mind, an open heart, a full battery, and run free."
Vardinio'sCat Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Magnificent stuff from Claudio, he is our special one! And that is not to denigrate the achievements of previous managers, many of who had far less to work with than CR. I can't wait to see what he will tell us about this season, when the dust settles.
Biggus Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 This should be a quote somewhere on Ranieri's potential statue or something similar: "A big name? No. A big contract? No. You just need to keep an open mind, an open heart, a full battery, and run free." This. What great words.
Buce Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 What a fantastic article from a truly lovely man. My favourite manager ever.
RoboFox Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Intelligent. Articulate. Learned. To think some of us had the brass neck to doubt him, myself included to a certain extent. A great little piece by the man himself, and I'm sure he wasn't obligated to... How many other top managers allow the fans a personal glimpse into their world? It's something I very much appreciate. Top man. Top bloke. Long may it continue.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 This. What great words. Either that or a flag made with these words on. Both would be great. In fact there's so many great quotes that are worthy.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Excellent article. Love the man, but what a top manager too.
Jimbo Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 It's a great article. Got quite emotional reading it. But I'm an emotional wreck at the moment when it comes to football. Even the mention of our club at the moment starts me off
RobHawk Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Great read! @@Fez of Mahrez - I know you want a fans perspective for your book, but this would make a great foreword from the man himself!
Donut Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Easy to see why people will run through walls for him. Must be one of the nicest people in football.
Number 6 Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Great stuff! "Ten seconds later, I look over and he’s running again."
AjcW Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 If you like that sort of thing I'll say what I said at the start of the season... Buy his book from his Chelsea days, such a great guy and a great rea, part of the reason I was a supporter back when he was appointed.
Len Finsbury Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 If you like that sort of thing I'll say what I said at the start of the season... Buy his book from his Chelsea days, such a great guy and a great rea, part of the reason I was a supporter back when he was appointed. I've just ordered it for £2.81 from Amazon based on this recommendation. After such an outlay, it had better be good!
Foxhateram Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Love this article. I doubted him at first because of the tinkering at Chelsea and I was worried he'd mess with things too much here. But he has done the opposite, he has used the momentum to empower our players and make them believe that anything is possible. What an amazing man.
Rincewind Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 I like it that he made the players make their own pizzas.
Soar Fox Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 I tell him, “One day, I’m going to see you cross the ball, and then finish the cross with a header yourself.” lol
Koke Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 I was confident we'd stay up with him in charge. Whether we'd finish 17th or 10th I didn't know. That's why I was flabbergasted that the whole media predicted us to finish rock bottom and go down. I just went back and read the quotes and tweets of pundits and journalists last summer and the amount of utter disrespect, mockery and derision towards Ranieri was absolutely disgraceful. Really shameful.
Sionnach gorm Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 Either that or a flag made with these words on. Both would be great. In fact there's so many great quotes that are worthy. I suspect that someone may have cleaned it up for him, but I think those are his words. The reason is that it has an "Italian" vocabulary oddity and a strange syntax that is common in Italy. I'd bet it's definitely his.
KP Fox Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 At long last! He admits it. WE ARE FIGHTING FOR THE TITLE! Come on the city! We can do this!
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 Hairs on the back of my neck stood up reading that. Poetic and entertaining. Love this about Kante: 'I had to tell him, “Hey, N’Golo, slow down. Slow down. Don’t run after the ball every time, okay?” He says to me, “Yes, boss. Yes. Okay.” Ten seconds later, I look over and he’s running again. I tell him, “One day, I’m going to see you cross the ball, and then finish the cross with a header yourself."' lol
