How much was he selling for and why?

If he could afford a trip to LA and was a dedicated enough supporter to go I can't fathom why he would sell.

Can you enlighten us on the timeline on what happened and how he came about to be banned?

Feck it's Paxman

Love it !

Exactly what I was thinking but couldn't spit out :)

Like most City fans, I hate people who sell tickets above face value. I have just seen a website selling Leicester City vs Everton wanting £7900 for a single ticket (Ticketbis). This is outrageous. I can understand people buying tickets for the final games but it still is not right. Could I suggest that, after the game, if you have bought a black market ticket that you report the seat number to the club so that the original seller can be found and banned. If you write to jim.donnelly@@lcfc.co.uk, you can do this anonymously

Here, here.

I wonder what the highest price someone will pay for a ticket. a grand tops I would imagine, these £8k-£15k prices are pie in the sky.

Pay above face value for a ticket and then once you've used said ticket, turn around and complain to the club about the bloke the sold it to you?

Club are asking people to "shop a tout"

If you pay too much for a ticket then send a picture of the ticket to Jim after the game.

You're right, we've all probably broken the law to some extent one day or another. I can think of speeding or jaywalking as classic examples. But how many of us are committing a crime whilst profiting financially from it - which is the case when scalping?

I find this argument of "tell me you've never broken the law in your life" a bit silly.

Because it implies that it's okay to commit a criminal offense based on the twisted logic that "everybody else is doing it, too". You'd have to prove that first. And where's your own morale?

The law operates on different levels of crime. Some are considered more serious than others, which is both visible in terms of potential jail time and/or fines to be paid in case of sentencing.

Personally, I've practically never had any troubles with the law in my life based on my own wrongdoing and I'd like to keep it that way. As far as I can remember, I've been caught speeding twice so far, both times marginally above the accepted speed limit. That's it. And I felt very bad about it, too. :D

I don't see the attraction in challenging the law on purpose. I've got better things to do with my life.

You tell me that it's okay to benefit from people willing to pay any price for your ST and acting against current PL and club laws, fine by me. Do as you wish.

Just always bear the consequences in mind, because punishment and legal fees in such cases could potentially and morally way outweigh the original profit that you (think you) have made.

The point was, that whilst it may be illegal... it's something that authorities do bugger all about. There are websites like Stub Hub that are basically ticket touting sites, everyone knows people buy tickets just for the sake of selling them on at a profit and very little is done, if anything at all.

How many touts do you see outside concerts / big events... and how often do you see them challenged. The cops know they are there, they just don't waste there time. They will make the odd show of it and that's about it, they don't have the man power or the time to go after every Tom, Dick and MC Prussian.

If it's illegal under UK law why are people allowed to sell them on all those re-seller sites. There was also a an investigation years ago about sites like see tickets and ticketmaster allocating a certain amount of tickets to those re-seller sites and taking a cut. there are always touts outside of games and events, why if it's against UK law don't they get arrested ?

Some laws only seem to be enforced when it suits. There are always tickets being sold by other club supporters for a lot of money, is anything done about them ?

Yeah it's a difficult situation, but the easiest way is just not to pay above face value I guess.

You know I think it's bad form to pay then moan

Feels like worse than grassing

It's like someone having a 15 min quicky with a sexy Russian call girl in the Hilton and then afterwards telling the hotel manager there is a hooker in room 108 !

That would be bad form !

Because it's seen as a minor thing, just like every man and his dog on here using kodi to watch illegal streams. They will focus on the people organising these things on a large scale, rather than the man on the street... unless you're very unlucky.

The fact the club are banning people should deter people anyway, unless you're selling to someone you know. It's a big risk to take for the sake of a few quid, you wouldn't want to miss games next year.

"There is no room 108 in this hotel. Sometimes complaints will be false"

Hey, Babs!

I'm not challenging anything at all that you're saying and I'm well aware of the situation of today and the lack of law enforcement due to obvious reasons (cause & effect, cost & reward from a legal perspective).

All I'm saying is that re-selling tickets is illegal and people that get caught need to face the consequences. Period. :D

He put it on eBay for a laugh, £15000.

Ticket has been taken off him and a 3 year ban.

Banned from the game?

Harsher than the penalty for murder! lol

Someone said on Twitter 12 bans handed out so far, and 8-10 more people have to come in for "interview"

Surely it can't be worth £250 !

Wrong, the richest man in the world could offer me anything, but he won't get hold of my season card, I'm going even if I have to fight crocodiles up Welford Road, get past wild Bengali tigers on Filbert Way, and a T Rex outside the ground.

Marc Bolan is dead,so how could you encounter T Rex on the way to the ground? Showaddywaddy maybe.............
