Grewks Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 Isn't the job of any good manager to delegate? Teams like Spurs for example.....Why try and get through the group stages of the Europa League if you're just going to throw a knock-out game against Dortmund anyway? If your manager hasn't delegated his resources correctly, thats poor management, not an attribute to lable us as 'lucky leicester'.
Jace Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 I believe we would not be where we are if we had as many games as Spurs this season so when people say it to me I just agree, doesn't change anything we are still 7 points clear
FireFox Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 Rose shouldn't have appealed for the Dyer handball then.
Koke Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 Our starting eleven cost £23m. Erik Lamela cost £30m I suggest they should stop spending a fortune on useless pile of crap like Lamela and buy wisely for your squad

If your manager hasn't delegated his resources correctly, thats poor management, not an attribute to lable us as 'lucky leicester'. That's exactly why they all have squads costing hundreds of millions, with subs that cost more than our starting 11. Sorry, it's no excuse for any of them with the resources they have available.
HighPeakFox Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 I think it is called 'season management', in much the same way as finding a way to win is known as 'game management'.
Guest ttfn Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 People knew at the start of the season that we'd have fewer games to play and we were still 5000/1. In the scheme of how ridiculous this season has been it's such a small factor in our success as to be totally immaterial.
Voll Blau Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 It's tough shit. If you've no intention of trying to win a competition, you shouldn't enter. If you're in the privileged position to play in Europe, you should be making the most of it. We don't make the rules.

Ibbyfox Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 It's tough shit. If you've no intention of trying to win a competition, you shouldn't enter. Like we did in the FA Cup?
waylander Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 That's why you have a squad wonder how many of there team have played more than our first team . Ours are ever present they have rotated.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 We just have to face the facts that there is no way on winning any of these arguments against moron fans from other teams. I mean, if we get out of the group stages next season in the Champions League it will be because we got a favourable draw, which would no doubt have been fixed for in our favour. We could quite easily take the Champions League seriously and shove the second string out in its entirety for the FA and League cup. That way, if you include the group stages and zero extra games for the first team in domestic competitions, we could hit the knockout phases of the Champions League having only played 1 or 2 games more than we had at the same time this season. What will the excuses be then?
Thracian Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 Wonderful - we've achieved all we have despite a lot less practice and time together on the pitch than others - and all that with less experienced, off-the-peg and even throwaway footballers. It was like starting with a 10-point handicap and of such concern to some that we weren't even considered suitable for one proposed competition because, basically, it wasn't thought we could even afford to make the "dress" code as set by the Manchester United's of this world, let alone be worthy of it!
Jordan Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 Too many fixtures because of Cup runs and European competition? What I wouldn't have given before this season to have that "problem" for Leicester...
Voll Blau Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 Like we did in the FA Cup? Wouldn't say that. We went out to our biggest rivals in the league after a replay. Not like we weren't trying, even if we weren't out at full strength.
foxes161 Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 I believe we would not be where we are if we had as many games as Spurs this season so when people say it to me I just agree, doesn't change anything we are still 7 points clear It's why you have a bigger squad for games like that but as mentioned if you are going to mail it in against dortmund why even bother in the group stage? West Ham did it right.
Voll Blau Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 If we carry on like West Ham and Spurs did in Europe next year, it'll be a disgrace.
Captain... Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 Like we did in the FA Cup?Ranieri made it clear in the cups he was going to use the squad, it wasn't that we weren't trying to win it, we were just trying to win it with our second string. It would have been interesting to see if we had progressed and looked like getting to the semi final would Ranieri have put out second string sides. It was odd for Spurs to put so much into the Europa League to just give up against Dortmund. We decided to prioritise the league, next season will be interesting to see how we manage our priorities, if we do go out of the CL at the group stages then I would love to see us put everything into the FA Cup.
fuchsntf Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 In answer - so what?+38.Thats why big money clubs, have larger squads. If their expensive benches cant hack it. Money wasted...fact!!! Not one oppo fan , not one pundit or ex-players have mentioned this so far. How poor their expensive back-up players have been. Arsenal, Manu, Man.city,Chelsea even Spurs have even with injuries,5-10 players according to costs that should blow us away. Man.city shouldnt miss Company, or Silva. Arsenal should be able to carry 5+ injuries. According to the dodos 2 injuries would have had us relegated.

We'll prioritise depending on our results. If we're 8th after 20 games and no chance of top four or relegation we'll put our focus into CL (if we're still in it) and the domestic cups. With us having a lot of very talented young players who aren't first team automatics like Gray, Chilwell, Amartey, etc it will be good to give them some proper first team game time.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 It was odd for Spurs to put so much into the Europa League to just give up against Dortmund. I expect they were looking at it with a view of an extra way to qualify for the Champions League at the start of the season. They've then switched once it became clear top 4 was pretty comfortable and they were in with a shout for the title.
