LCFC Statement: Ticket Resale

Recommended Posts

Leicester City offers some guidance to supporters ahead of remaining fixtures in 2015/16 Barclays Premier League season...

In light of the unprecedented demand that currently exists for Leicester City tickets, supporters are reminded that all Leicester City tickets must be purchased directly from the Club. The unauthorised advertising and selling of Premier League tickets is illegal.

If you buy tickets from an unauthorised source, whether that be an unauthorised website, an online marketplace or a ticket tout outside the ground, you risk being denied entry to the match and losing the money you paid. Tickets sold by such methods will become void, which will lead to the bearers being denied entry to, or removed from, the stadium.

The Club has a duty of care to its supporters and is working diligently to prevent ticket touting, while also encouraging all fans to report any such activity. As a result, a small number of Season Ticket Holders and Members have this week received multi-year bans, preventing them attending Leicester City games or purchasing tickets to any Leicester City fixture, as well as having their own Season Tickets and Memberships cancelled without compensation.

If you have suffered a negative experience, or have information on unauthorised ticketing activities that you wish to share in confidence, please contact the Club by emailing ticketwatch@@lcfc.co.uk or the Premier League by emailing info@@premierleaguerocks.com.

Please note that tickets and hospitality packages for all three of Leicester City’s remaining 2015/16 Premier League home games against West Ham United, Swansea City and Everton have sold out.

Thing is how are the club going to know whats happened behind closed doors?

A private arrangement between 2 parties is very hard to detect.

Edit - and they should also look a little closer to home, i would laugh my ass off it said tickets had come from inside the club!

Face value exchange is fine, selling for a profit is touting.

The statement mentions unauthorised selling more than it does touting, The way i'm reading it, it means any sale whether it be face value or for profit.

What I will say is the club need to look at their returns policy if that is the case because I can understand there may be certain circumstances where people cannot make a game therefore if the club won't accept returns then people are left with the only option of selling on.

I'm bringing up away tickets again, but likewise with lending priorities out there are certain people on here (Atleast one who has been pulled up several times) that buy tickets for the 'smaller' games with the intention to sell them on so they can up their priority in order to go to the big games. Bang out of order.

In which case they should definitely introduce a scheme  where St holders can sell on their seat on a match by match basis, obviously below cost price to pay for the administration if we're going to get a repeat of the demand we've  had this season.

Chelsea run a secure ticket exchange for ST holders and members to buy and sell tickets at face value. Good idea.

They used to run it through Viagogo, but everyone was worse off because of the obscene fees Viagogo charged. So Chelsea then built their own exchange. It's a good idea.

I presume buying and selling tickets on here will be banned if it is illegal.

It's technically against the rules as the ticket is 'non-transferable' but the club are only really bothered about the touts as touting is actually illegal.

Good move by the club :appl:

Leicester City have handed a number of season-ticket holders "multi-year" bans for re-selling tickets illegally.

Tickets for the league leaders' final home game were offered for £15,000 a pair via an online re-sale website.

The 7 May match against Everton, which could see the Foxes crowned champions, sold out in 90 minutes on Monday.

"The club has a duty of care to its supporters and is working diligently to prevent ticket touting," a Leicester City club statement said.

"As a result, a small number of season-ticket holders and members have this week received multi-year bans."

The club said this prevents those responsible from attending Leicester games, as well as having their season tickets cancelled "without compensation".

The Foxes are seven points clear of nearest rivals Tottenham and need three wins from their five remaining games to guarantee the title.

They host West Ham and Swansea and visit Manchester United ahead of the game against Everton, before finishing the season away to Chelsea.
