Vardy & LCFC Charged by the FA - Charges Accepted & Personal Hearing Requested

Part of me wants him to be banned for an extra game and take points off Utd anyway rather than hear the media and Spurs fans moan about how we only won the league because Vardy wasn't punished.

Spurs have no grounds for that. Moss gave them a lifeline and took Vardy and points away from the West Ham game and Swansea game. So essentially Spurs were gifted two game ban for Vardy even without the Man U game.

Can we at least get through the game before declaring it to be lost points?

Vardy has a decent case for not having an extended ban, I have a hopeful suspicion that he will be back for the trip to Old Trafford and with Vardy being Vardy this whole incident will stir the fire in his belly even more, not good if you're a Spurs fan. Vardy will be raging over this and he is going to take it all out on our sorry opponents. Can't wait for him to wipe the smugness away from the Spurs fans and I cant wait to see big Wes lift that trophy with Andy King wearing the crown on his head.

Where do you buy your optimism pills from?.. Admirable..

But delusional too, there is no way Vardy will escape a further ban!

More chance of Jon Moss becoming a competent referee!

Same place you get your pessimism pills I'd guess

The FA should recind the red card and punish vardy for swearing at the ref.  Which should be a fine and one match ban.  I would accept this as a fair and just result.

You misread it.  Point were taken away from the West Ham game already.  We should have had 3 pts not 1.

Vardy was taken away from the West Ham game and the Swansea game.

Pessimists are realists. When life has kicked you in the nuts relentlessly that's where you end up.

A pessimist is an experienced optimist.

He has the ban for the red card and the ban for the reaction. The hearing is to decide whether he gets any additional ban. The precedent is set with Diego Costa from earlier in the season, he misses Swansea and United.

You can't rescind two yellows and that's a fact, the only way Vardy will escape an extra game ban is if the Football Association think more of Roy Hodgsons (current highest ranking person in English football) comments or Jon Moss (current poor Referee that lost control of a top Premier League game) comments....

Up the City....

I don't think he will be available for the man united game. Man united is in a tight top 4 race and need 3 pts so would complain.

Unless man city and Arsenal both complain for us to stop Man U.

I think it'll be alright, they'll decide the one game as well as the fact we lost him for half the WH game is enough punishment. Probably throw in a fine cause they can. We can look forward to a hat trick at Utd.

I see where you are coming from but in the unlikely event that they do not extend the ban because the ref had a bad game, they are effectively condoning the behaviour - is it ok to call the ref a cnut if he is having a crap game?

yes, because there is a precedent of players e.g. rooney not been punished for it.

you think that vardy is the first player to swear at a ref? you in la la land if you think so.

Not to mention if you going to set out to crackdown on players, you do it in a new season not in a title run in.

He will be banned for 1 additional game. Miss Swansea and Man U. Will be the exact same as Costa with 20k fine thrown in too. Any other result than that and will have other teams kicking off at lack of consistency. We can all hope it's just the one game but 99.9% will be two games unfortunately. Real shame as Vardy said his favourite place to play was Old Trafford and you just know he would be so fired up for it as usual. I guess if we can somehow get through these 2 games without him and get two wins or one and a draw, then makes this miracle season that bit more amazing! Ulloa to be the hero...

when do we find the result about this? I thought it was due yesterday?

Deadline for us to respond to charge was yesterday. Not sure when the punishment is announced. probably in the next few days

I was a bit distraught at first but I'm over it now. I've got to be optimistic, bring on Swansea! Sunday can't come quick enough.

Good piece in the Guardian today saying in asking for a personal hearing- he can avoid a ban extension - ie plays against Man U and gets a fine instead.

The hearing will take place on Monday.

That is clearly the intention but also to make sure he doesn't get an extra two games which could happen if he just left it to the panel to decide on their own. he has to show that he cares and is genuinely sorry by making the effort to come to the hearing. if he didn't, given the evidence, I wouldn't be surprised if he got the extra two games as they may see his reaction as deserving of a straight red in normal play and a three game ban. abusing officials after a red card is not looked upon well by the authorities. seems you can tell a ref to F off during a game but after a red card you can't? I hope the club can conjure up enough images of players pointing in the faces of refs to support him.

amazing to see so many convincing themselves that he will be available for Man U yet so many unable to convince themselves that we will win the title on other threads. As bi polar as ever in here!

We'll have to wait and see. I wouldn't be surprised to see him receive an extra 2 game ban. I'm sure they would consider retrospectively (can they do this?) applying a straight red card for foul and abusive language which I believe carries an automatic two match ban?
