Hitesh Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 Lets get this straight.... the first tackle was not a yellow card, there was actually no tackle, Vardy missed the tackle and the guy kept running slightly and fell over Vardys legs, its impossible to get out of the way. secondly the penalty was not not dive, it was a tangle of legs. it was more a penalty than the other 2 pathetic ones given. the red card should been rescinded. That won't happen as it will set a precedent that the FA won't want to go down. Rescinding 2 yellow cards is out of the question and will not be taken into consideration. The FA will only look at the charge in question - his misconduct after being shown the red card. What went before and after will be viewed view the guidance of the referees report. Vardy will have some job to justify or mitigate his actions - given what he said is in the heat of the moment won't really go in favour as they will challenge that he has the responsibility to control his actions on the field.
Kendal Fox Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 If Vardy is available for United and its a big if. What will it do to Leo's morale? There is no question that, if available, Vardy starts with Shinji in behind. However, Leo has just scored two and been named MOTM. Do not envy Claudio telling him he's dropped if that is infact the case. Thing is, Man Utd are sick of the sight of Vardy. If he is available for that game, it would be madness to not start with him. Maybe start with both with the option of bringing Shinji on as a super-sub?! Think Leo is capable of taking a step back to see the bigger picture if he does get a bit role.
Captain... Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 Didn't he put his hands on the ref? I can't remember, I did have a google for footage, but couldn't find any. I thought it was also a second yellow for Costa for dissent that got an extended ban, which again is a different scenario. Can they just hurry up and punish him, it is dragging on longer than the OJ trial.
Xen Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 could a differed ban be used? 1 match ban at the start of the next season? surely the FA will want to keep all teams strong to chase the title down at this time in the season for the premier leagues sake? rose tinted glasses i know. Rather, the FA will want us weakened so the premier league stays interesting until the last day (and their precious Spurs have a chance). The way the season is going, it could genuinely be a dead rubber game week 38 if we wrap up the title, one of the relegation battlers does well whilst the others slip, and man utd drop points. In fact, us vs. Man U could well be what decides whether or not there's anything to play for at the top of the table.

But that's not what the charge is. I get what you are saying, but the panel is not considering whether or not the yellows were warranted. I'd love him to not receive an extra ban but if he said what has been reported then I really can't see any way that they can do anything other than give him a ban. You certainly can't go down the road of "leniency" due his involvement in a title race - that is ridiculous. I'd love to be wrong though..
AyewJoking Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 when will the decision be made? Surely we need to know one way or the other so we can prepare for for the game in question???

I would also love to be wrong and I struggle to understand why some are confusing the decisions of the referee with the charge he faces.
STUHILL Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 when will the decision be made? Surely we need to know one way or the other so we can prepare for for the game in question??? I guess they will decide today after heard from Vardy. They can't leave it much longer as like you said, we have a huge game to prepare for. Probably announced later or tomorrow morning.
fuchsntf Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 Might have been relevant - if it was the ref who'd been sending him the abuse.... Our place in the league has no bearing on the punishment. If he is extremely lucky, they may use the fact that the sending off was unjustified but I doubt it. Even if they do there are unlikely to let him off. Would you feel the same if it was Harry Kane in the dock here? Yes, because unlike some dipsticks on this forum..I am not a spitefull git or hypocritical know it all. King Richard and his mate..me !!! We have our honour, knights have swathing death upon them, but, recognise and respect the soldiers we put to sword...!!!

Though I expect Spurs to win their remaining 4 games, if the longshot that WBA actually get something from the Spurs match occurs, expect the extra match ban to be announced first thing tomorrow morning!!!
lbeagle Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 If video is allowed they should just show Clattenberg's performance from yesterday.

weller54 Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 16.18..Hearing has ended.. Decision to be announced any moment!
Babylon Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 Didn't he put his hands on the ref? Don't think so, but he got right in his face and forced the ref to move by doing so. Personally, although I'm biased I would say it was far worse than Vardy's.
FireFox Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 I'd swap vardy banned for united for a baggies win tonight.I'd be fine with Vardy out the rest of the season for a Baggies draw.

dpjfox Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 out of interest did Costa request/attend a personal hearing?,imo he had been a tw** all season whereas Jamie is loved by the nation ,even the FA

The spuds and yanited fans would be apoplectic

leicesterseddon Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 Can't believe how the long the process for deciding this has taken. They are only deciding on the relative vulgarity of a phrase that comprises TWO WORDS

FA politics means they have to be seen as 'doing' something. No matter how dumb the reasoning.
