Mampi Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I was very disappointed with the attitude of Spurs fans, well the ones that attend their so called supporters forums. Just about every sentence has cvunt mentioned. Players are cvunts, referees are cvunts, Arsenal are cvunts and Chelsea, well they are chavs and cvunts. All the other London teams and Manchester United have their own little pet names. They got embroiled in it was all a conspiracy, refs were not giving 10 penalties against Huth each game and opposition team that had played so well against Spurs were just rolling over for Leicester City. The funniest parts were the permutations with 5 games left, if Leicester lose three, we can give them 2 draws and Spurs win all their games guess who is Champions. Like that was going to happen. Even when the Spurs players had lost their heads, brains were nowhere to be seen but that's another story and were hacking every blade of grass at Chelsea there were Spurs fans on their forums hoping for broken legs. If you looked over other team forums, particularly with the Everton and Liverpool ones they all concentrate on their own team and manager and recognise when other players and teams happen to play quite well. This tends to lead into potential transfer targets which is a lot more useful than just calling them cvunts. Spurs fans online seem to lack any decorum, I expect many would have hated the Bocelli introduction rather preferring a bit of boyzone. Every set of fans will have their fair share of morons - there have been plenty of 'Tottenham are cvunts, Kane's a cvunt' etc style posts by Leicester fans too - don't be so blinkered. There's a lot of 'Spurs failed' type talk going around too, by all sets of fans. Under Daniel Levy we keep moving forward - with a couple of blip seasons which can be expected as a football club growing naturally will never show a completely positive correlation. We keep upping the bar on points achieved per season, and we are on par this season. The only difference is the rest of the top teams were so awful it's amazing. Had City turned up against Spurs and Leicester we could be looking at a very different league table now. What has been great is our lack of goals conceded for a change (we have conceded the most Premier League goals in its history) and having only lost 5 games so far. We still struggle to break teams down at home on our narrow pitch, but Levy has that in hand Regarding the whole 'bottled it' thing though; I never really saw us as being genuine title contenders - and any 'We're coming for you' chanting was very much tongue in cheek - football fans like to have a laugh. I don't know, but it seems Leicester fans took this as a very aggressive chant - probably because Leicester fans were scared sh!tless about losing out to anyone / anything - because it was a literally un believable thing unfolding in front of us all. Leicester at home - this would have been a very different game if both teams knew what the stakes really were. Don't know about Leicester fans, but at this point in the season I definitely didn't see it as a '6 pointer', and in fact didn't even begrudge dropping the points to an over achieving Leicester side that were more of a challenge to Arsenal / City than we were. The North London derby is very un predictable, except you can predict Arsenal will probably win at the end of all sorts of weird events. 1-0 down, Arsenal red card, 2-1 up, for a 2-2 draw. This was classic - but not bottling anything.. West Ham away - it's their cup final every season, and this was their last at Upton Park. They have been good this season, stopped us from playing more than any other team, and there's no shame losing to a very solid side Bilic has set up in my opinion. Horrible fans though - both physically and verbally they are excessively aggressive, but again just don't see this as bottling it. Wow we lost a game - we're not watching Real Madrid here.. 3 years in a row I have rolled up to the lane to watch us struggle against the Baggies - I think people that know Spurs weren't as surprised as the media and rival support about that draw. This season was a decent night and we played well - last season I wanted a refund for my ticket. Chelsea away. In my life time a point at the bridge is a good point. In fact a point at the lane is good against that lot. Tottenham have been a very clean footballing side over the years (apart from Chris Perry & Edgar Davids) and this was the dirtiest I have ever seen Spurs play. It came from desperation and frustration - expecting to win at the bridge. I suppose this is a good sign - in the sense that we think we can win these games - and suppose the rest of the league would prefer us to finish 5th-9th quietly every season and never make the step to feel like we can win these types of games. I don't agree with dirty football, but I have to agree with players wanting to win. They are kids out there at the end of the day. Literally a few years out of school - their lack of discipline isn't really that much of a shock to me given the situation. I'm proud that we have not had to rely on foreign owners and have been self sufficient without bending the books to get where we are. Our owner is from Bow, and our chairman from Essex. Currently 7 players in our first team squad are from London & surrounding areas. Bilbao are a club I have always respected for this reason, and feel detached from modern football when I see an English team putting out a match day squad with no British players to be seen. I have no idea how many Leicester players are from the area - would be interested to know - but my point is that everyone seems to hate us because we 'challenged' your boys for the title.. we just carried on doing what we have been doing - why hate us for that? If the reason for dislike are the comments of a few individuals.. well quite frankly that makes you just as bad as them.
wight88 Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 If spurs win their last game, their points total will be only one more than in their full season under AVB.
Mampi Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 If spurs win their last game, their points total will be only one more than in their full season under AVB. This looks like progress to me - even if we get 70 pts

For Gods sake bore off mate, we're really not interested in what could have happened, might have happened. We don't care if some of your fans or some of ours for that matter are morons. You see, on the bottom of that cup it says Leicester City and that's all that matters. It may never say it again, but who cares? Go and bother some Arsenal fans and leave us to bask in our glory, thank you.

This thread is about Spurs fans though otherwise I would understand your sentiment. Yes Leicester join the elite group with West Brom, Notts Forest, Ipswich and Sheff Utd of having won the English top tier. And for the record - it will always say Leicester City - "it may never say it again".. don't be too hard on yourself.

Winning these days is next to impossible unless you have bags of money. we did it with pocket change compared to the standard winning formula. maybe we've started our own elite group you're sounding a little annoyed...just saying

It will always say Leicester City on the Premier League trophy. Always. I'm afraid it's Spurs who are in the elite group with Forest and Sheffield United and the rest. We're in the elite group with Man City, Man United, Chelsea, Blackburn and Arsenal!! And for the record, I don't hate Spurs. They are a great side, play great football, and have a great future. I hope that they win it next season (if we don't again obviously!) I do 'get' why Spurs fans are bitter about this season... I understand that Arsenal and Chelsea fans are ripping you lot a new one at the moment. The ONE season that all the big clubs slip up, and the ONE season that Spurs are the best of the 'big' clubs, and the best London club... and they finally mount a title challenge. And yet they still can't win the title cos of bloody Leicester City!!! Come on mate. It's pretty funny - but it's not really our fault is it?? You lot should just learn to laugh at yourselves.

foxfanazer Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Spurs fans are so insecure! I love this latest bollocks of 'I never thought we were serious challengers anyway so I'm not too disappointed' The pressure got too much and you monumentally bottled (Spursed) it. And as for being self sufficient and not being reliant on foreign investors. Erik Lamela cost as much as our TITLE winning starting 11. Now thats impressive!
katieakita Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Spurs should be thankful that Lamela and Dier are still available for selection after their conduct at the bridge.

The gap between teams at the top and bottom is a lot closer than places like Spain, both financially and on the field. Leicester aren't a poor little club though - it's not like a non league team just won the FA cup. You won't find Mahrez painting and decorating during the week for a few extra quid. I'm not annoyed - I'm quite realistic. In my lifetime I have seen us win 1 FA cup and 2 league cups - not a lot to shout about, but would rather be in our position than Blackburn's with an EPL win to their name for example. It would be very dark for English football if the league champions can't hold on to their best players though. It does make me annoyed when players say things like ‘I’m leaving for Champions League football / trophies’ when the truth is it’s purely down to salary. Any Leicester players that leave would prove themselves to be complete mercenaries in my opinion – and hope you just add a few cultured players with European Cup experience.

I can understand why you're upset but **** off with your bitchy little comments. Your team and your fans need to man the **** up if you're ever going to be known for anything more than bottling seasons. Coming on here trying to score little victories makes you look very bitter indeed. You've just about finished above Arsenal so at least thats a bonus
Mampi Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Spurs' owner is Joe Lewis. Who lives in the Bahamas and according to Forbes in the 6th wealthiest person in the UK... "Self-sufficient" :D His personal wealth makes no difference to the clubs books. He doesn't pump in money - we are self sufficient. We do things like sell players for world record fees and take out bank loans to fund a £400m - £800m stadium. Joe Lewis will not be putting his hand in his pocket for that.

ARM1968 Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Little bit harsh. But hey. I agree that all the usual player excuses will be out of the window this time. Hopefully we don't lose any. Especially Kante.

Do you think that's why you've won fvck all for the past 25 years?
Bazly Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Seems the Spurs supporters are a little concerned today following a lunch meet between Potch plus their assistant manager and Alex Ferguson. I'm sure Fergie only wanted to enquire if Alli and Kane were available.

So your not self sufficient, as you're relying on Bank Loans to fund the stadium. How is that any different to an owner lending money?
Bazly Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 So your not self sufficient, as you're relying on Bank Loans to fund the stadium. How is that any different to an owner lending money? Big difference, Bank Loans are tax deductible whereas Directors Loans aren't. Its being funded in a tax efficient manner.
dylanlegend Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Spurs have seemed pretty average without Dembele but mainly Alli. I think the fact Alli has been out and they have been pants shows what a top player he is, Alli is a big catalyst for when they have looked class this year. Also though with players like Ryan Mason they will win nothing - how did he even get in the England team? People say without Kante / Mahrez we will be crap but if Spurs lose Alli and Kane so will they
