After what I'd read here I expected totally outrageous statements from Souness, but I didn't think his comments were that bad. He seemed genuinely perplexed that a team that, as he put it, have torn up the rule book compared to the accepted possession-based strategy of his day, have done so well. He confessed to being a Spurs fan - fair enough, we've got Lineker! Didn't like his combined team though, rather disrespectful. To Spurs fans here that have been so gracious in what looks like defeat, congratulations on (what looks like) coming second and wish you well for next season. In the end I think it is the steel that was forged in the last few City seasons, particularly the Championship title and last year's great escape, that have made the difference. Finally, thanks Tony for making life a little less stressful!

"This Spurs side are history makers - we're first in everything, look at the stats, we are the best team in the league." And Vardy should have been congratulated on his relatively mild reaction because it was probably gentler than many people's on being wrongly but effectively labelled a cheat. The FA have only served to emphasise that, no matter how wrong a referee might be, they'll excuse him and represent him as right. It's pathetic. Footballers aren't feelingless automata. If the FA want to prevent the kind of things which might escalate or show the game in a bad light they should train referees more efficiently and allow reference to video technology because if they really want fairer outcomes that's the way to get them. The referee was wrong yet the FA is effectively promoting him as right. He provoked virtually non-stop controversy involving both teams throughout the whole game. And given how disgracefully we were denied a Cup win at Spurs and became the victims of such underhand tactics and referee coercion at The Emirates, it's hardly surprising that the more volatile personalities react. Never mind Vardy. The FA should really suspend Moss and book him in with someone like Clattenburg for a few month's intensive training on how to referee consistently and with a minimum of fuss. Completely agree. Whilst I have no real problem with those who feel Vardy dived, I equally ask that they also have no problem with those of us who believe it wasn't a dive and that Vardy was well within his rights to appeal for a penalty - on the premise (and fact) that Ogbonna initiated contact FIRST - and that he should NOT have been sent off. The principle of the thing needs to be defended regardless of the apparent comfort of our position in the league. If Moss is ultimately allowed to go scot-free it will be very disappointing and only serve to highlight the inconsistency (and obvious bias) of the FA.
