I can't seem to find a bad word said about the bloke online, french media and fans seem to think he's a good player and it would be a really smart buy for us.

Good player, good age, good value.

Whereas Deeney slightly above average player/going on 28 with no resale value/not good value - you do the maths.

I think it's clear at this moment the club don't focus solely on the signings as being investments like some clubs do. Ulloa, Okazaki, Huth all bought knowing the resale value will be less than what we paid. But then we will go for the likes of Gray, Amartey, Kante knowing they are a good age with potential to be worth much more. We'll continue to mix it up.

What the club see as most important is staying in the league, if they think Deeney ticks a lot of boxes that we're looking for and helps establish us in the league. The money from the TV deal pays for him with ease if we do that.

Albrighton , gray and Mahrez are going to love this guys spray pass , he looks really good ! And a touch of value

Yeah can certainly pick a pass - quite a limited video (as are all) - his passing stats are quite impressive.

I saw him a few minutes ago buying camambert in Morrison.

I'll never forget when Kevin phillips was on soccer am and a fan rang up (before he signed for us) and asked him what flavour baguette he bought from Morrisons when he was in there lol

Looks very impressive, he'd develop even more here as well.

we love signing captains don't we. very optimistic about this guy

There's something in this - the leadership, responsibility communication and never quit attitude.

I've thought this a number of times in the past months.

Wow, didn't think his passing was that good.

Looking at his stats overall he seems to have very good ball retention, good passing... but he doesn't create much, doesn't play many key passes. He has a good interception rate but not much to write home about in terms of tackles.

The stats don't strike you are particularly defensive or particularly attacking, but someone who keeps it all ticking over in the middle. Not sure where that fits in with us playing two in the middle... but it would more so if we switched to a three.

He looks a tidy player for sure but I'm of the opinion if you're not creating goals and you're not stopping them then what are you doing?

I realise this is over simplistic before someone pulls me up on it.
