Guest CityFan 06 Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Daily Star here and I've seen the story on a few other Twitter accounts as well http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/523335/Transfer-news-Leicester-Nampalys-Mendy
Gerard Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 "Kante has a trigger clause of £20million which allows clubs to talk to him though the figure is not his release fee." If that is true we should just refuse to sell him. What does that even mean though? What is the point of being able to talk to other clubs if they offer £20m when the club have no obligation to sell at that price?
Merging Cultures Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 What does that even mean though? What is the point of being able to talk to other clubs if they offer £20m when the club have no obligation to sell at that price? No one would offer £20m as they know it will be rejected. They will offer at least £30m (he's worth at least £40m).The only reason someone would offer £20m, knowing it will be rejected, would be to try to force a move. Fortunately, Kante doesn't seem like the type to put in sub standard performances to do that. I think he'd continue to give 100%.

If Kante has a £20m clause in his contract then all it would take is a £20m offer for them to speak to the player. We would have to accept £20m to whoever offered it.

Go read the article again. It's no longer a release clause, it's being described as a 'trigger' clause which allows them to talk to him. Now say sorry.
ARM1968 Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Buzzer - you've gone off a bit prematurely there mate. Any way WTF is a trigger clause? Is that like a bad Santa with a gun?

Buzzell Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Buzzer - you've gone off a bit prematurely there mate. Any way WTF is a trigger clause? Is that like a bad Santa with a gun? I jumped the gun pal. Couldn't be arsed to flick back one page to see that it was a 'trigger clause', whatever that is.
mozartfox Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Was does it take to trigger the trigger clause and would this In turn trigger the release clause by virtue of the two way trigger/ release clause in the contract?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Was does it take to trigger the trigger clause and would this In turn trigger the release clause by virtue of the two way trigger/ release clause in the contract? Blimey who set you off?Triggering the trigger clause again
MPH Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Was does it take to trigger the trigger clause and would this In turn trigger the release clause by virtue of the two way trigger/ release clause in the contract? It simply means that if you want to leave the club you have do do an impression of trigger from only fools & Horses. The board ( all sitting round a large and intimidating table) then mark it on a scale of 1-10 . You are allowed 3 attempts. I heard Vardy wanted to leave last year but he couldn't get the laugh right.

mozartfox Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Reading the 'Transfer Talk' Forum is likely to trigger insanity by the time we actually sign anyone.
