The Jamaica Manager Comment?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I heard this second hand, so i make no claims to accuracy and have refrained from using the word "fact"  at the end.

Apparently.... the Jamaica manager was talking to the bbc? about Wes and said that toward the end of last season there was a great deal of unrest in the city dressing room and Wes asked him what to do, Wes apparently said the manager was being obstinate and the players were frustrated and didnt know what to do.

The J manager told Wes to get other senior players together and approach the manager, Wes wasnt confident of doing it, but apprently did so.. which led to the changes that saw the changes in results.

Not trying to start an anti NP game, just interested, did anyone else hear it?.. what are you thoughts? maybe puts the Cambiasso "Manager" Stories into perspective?

Wes said earlier this season that NP was the best manager he had ever played for. So I'm not sure what the point of this is.

well, my point is to discuss, and ultimately try and find out more

Wouldn't be surprised at all would explain a lot.

Remember the man city game at the etihad last season nigel was pictured slumped in the dugout looking fed up and resigned to relegation.

It fits in with all the rumours about Cambiasso, Ulloa etc and why Pearson was sacked wouldn't surprise me if this was true. I was a great believer in Pearson and was gutted when he was gone but the more this season has gone I've started to believe maybe things were going wrong because of Pearson more than right

I think that's unlikely given that no-one here will likely have any new information to post. It's just going to be speculation and interpretation. Unless we can get the facts of what went on we're not going to learn much.

Whether it happened or not, we've moved on to much greater things and it's a chapter in our history that should probably stayed closed. Respect Nigel for what he did and look to the future.

Your asking us to discuss a hypothetical discussion. Do you not have any source or proper evidence that the conversation took place? I mean if the manager has said this to the BBC then there must be some sort of evidence?

No, as i said, i didnt hear it and it was apparently on the BBC, i therefore assumed that perhaps someone else heard it and could offer more info.

As far as I'm aware NP's sacking was largely a face saving exercise after the Thai 3, not helped by the fact that his son was involved and KP's brand was being damages and share prices falling.

As for the Cambiasso thing, I believe Nigel and his team decided to give the players far more individual responsibility for certain things, with senior figures obviously a part of that.

Falling share price can't be a reason because King Power isn't even listed on the stock market.

Haven't heard the Jamaica manager comments but there's no smoke without fire, and there has been an awful lot of suggestions about 'something' going on behind the scenes last season before the turnaround. Someone is bound to spill the beans one day.

what are the odds of the flippin jamaica manager being the reason behind the greatest footballing fairy tale of all time?

at least 5000-1 i'd say

It's like Cool Runnings 2.

So not only did Cambiasso help mastermind survival last season the Jamaican manager instructed Wes what to say.

Next we'll hear that it was Nicky Adams & Marc Edworthy that told Pearson how to get us out of League One.

And it was Chris Wood & Gary Taylor-Fletcher who managed us out of the championship.

You wont find out anymore if there was anything to this and people knew about it then it would already have been posted. All you're going to get is the pro /anti Pearson guff which has been aired more than enough.
