Fantastic

Wonder if Saturday and Sunday had anything to do with this donation as the royal was full to the brim with city fans.

Brilliant nonetheless

Yes, a very admirable and generous gesture to the people of Leicester and not merely the football population of our great City ... Fantastic and gracious owners, deserving of respect.

Very kind gesture of them.

What a brilliant gesture. I hope it shames the billionaire tax dodgers of this country to do the same.

Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha has pledged to donate £2 million to kick start a campaign to develop a new Children's Hospital.

The announcement was made at the Foxes player awards last night held at the King Power Stadium.

The money has been pledged to Leicester Hospitals Charity, to help fund a £30 million project to move all of the city and county's children's hospital services under one roof.

Dr Johannes Visser, one of the clinical leads at Leicester's Children's Hospital and a children's cancer specialist said: "To be honest we are all a little overwhelmed and hugely grateful for this donation.

"The players, their management team and the owners have been really supportive of the Children's Hospital for many years, they always take the time to visit at Christmas and that alone provides a wonderful lift to the children we care for

."The staff in the hospital were delighted by the club's success and their reaction this morning when they heard about the donation was amazing.

"On behalf of everyone who works in children's, we want to say thank you."

The majority of the children's services are based at the Royal Infirmary, with the Children's Heart service based at Glenfield Hospital.

The plan is to bring all of the services under one roof - within the Balmoral building at LRI.

Leicester's Hospitals' chairman, Karamjit Singh said: "We are incredibly grateful for this donation from Leicester City Football Club's chairman which will make a huge difference to our patients, their families and our staff.

"This has been a remarkable year for the Club and we are very proud of their achievements.

"The players, management and owners work hard for one another and their spirit of teamwork is obvious to anyone who sees them in action, our children's team respect that and our support for them will continue as we look forward to working more closely with them in future."

and to think, people didn't want to give these guys a photo book because 'they're just doing what owners should do'.

they go above and beyond, not only pushing our club forward whilst respecting it's history and showering the fans with free beer, donuts and pizza but then they go and give £2million to a local children's hospital project.

'don't be fooled - Leicester City is just a marketing tool for their duty free business'

'just doing what owners should do' - sure, whatever you say!
