Gylfi Sigurdsson

For me, this guy should be our priority. The missing piece of the jigsaw (if indeed there is one!) is a hardworking playmaking, tall, attacking no10, with set piece ability. Okazaki has the work rate but isn't nescessarily tip-top on the other attributes.

I've wanted him here for a long while, he's a classy midfielder. Technically good, scores goals. Top addition to our midfield if he were to come.

Unsure if Swansea will sell though, it depends.

But certainly the type of player I like us to be linked with.

As others have mentioned he could be the key to improving us furthermore.

Technically and individually he is a class player, don't know if he will suit our style though?

Would add goals from midfield and could play the Okazaki role. We need to add quality players who understand there may be changes more often next season and recon he fits the bill.

He would give us a different way to play, sure. But he cant play the Okazaki role. He can play in that position yes, but he can't offer the same qualities Okazaki gives us.

Okazaki's runs in particular create so much space for Vardy. Sigurdsson won't make them type of runs. Shinji & Sigurdsson are both different players, so we'd have to adapt our style of play to accommodate Sigurddsson.

Swear I've seen the same people say 'oh yeah as if Watford would sell Deeney for less than 20m' then say 'great news' on this thread. Why on earth would Swansea sell their best player for 15m when they're about to receive so much money. They sold Bony for 26m if I remember rightly!

I get really stressed every time we get linked with a player because that means one of the current 11 will Be replaced!

Added to. Not replaced. We need depth and options. The Gylf would help with that. Young enough. Experience at this level. Quality and a good eye for goal. Different to Okazaki, but that's good. I like them both.

Exactly my thoughts, spot on.

I'd be really happy to sign Sigurdsson and I think £15m for a player of his quality is a steal these days. Says a lot that he has really impressed at Swansea despite the lack of quality around him and he could improve almost instantly by coming here. I hope it's true but sadly it's from The Sun.

Swansea City defender Neil Taylor has admitted that he and the Welsh club are desperate for key playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson to reject reported interest from Leicester City.

The Iceland international has been at his best while in the white of the Swans, with a move to Tottenham not working out as the Scandinavian was not afforded regular first-team football.

Leicester put in an amazing effort to find themselves crowned English champions in 2015-16, winning the title in a fairytale campaign.

The Foxes are int he recruitment market to bolster their contingent before playing Champions League football next season and have reportedly identified Sigurdsson as a potential new face.

Taylor has stated that the former Hoffenheim star is a critical player for Francesco Guidolin’s men and urged his team-mate to spurn interest from other Premier League teams.

“We are desperate for him to stay. We are desperate for all our best players to stay and add to that, that’s what we want to do,” The Mirror quote him as saying.

“We don’t want to be a selling club. The Premier League means you don’t have to any more with the money that has come in.

“But once you do well you are going to get linked with the top teams and Leicester happened to win it, so that’s just the way it goes.

“Hopefully we can hang onto him and a few other players – Andre Ayew is another one, there are a few.”

Sigurdsson’s creativity and guile is an essential part of Swansea’s play, especially since the January departure of Jonjo Shelvey.

Always rated him but wouldn't be too upset if this one doesn't materialise. If we're looking at him to increase our tactical options then fine but he wouldn't fit in to our current style. Will be an interesting one

Likewise agree with foxfanazer, I've always rated Sigurdsson. I think he would be a quality signing and I'd like him to come, but if he doesn't and stays at Swansea, I could kind of understand why. We will see.

Possibly his only ever chance to play Champions League football.

We are going to need to different styles of players next season and he fits the bill. He's also one of those players I dread playing against us because he's got it in his locker to bang one in from 25 yards fairly regularly.

I for some reason really want this to happen, always been a fan, decent free kick taker, scores screamers, ok hi work rate might not be as good as okazaki but he's not lazy by any means, plus if he's happy to play a part in a team effort, he'd get plenty of chances, how many games did okazaki get subbed.

We could actually score on a free kick?!

We said that when we signed Fuchs and Inler...

He's got excellent technical ability. Like him a lot.
