Mezeker Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 working extremely hard this game thats for sure, sometimes to his detriment. Would be a great rotation player for the squad.
Sampson Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Gylfi would score a few goals for us, from free kicks and longer range. But he's not quick and I don't know where I'd see him fit into our team and our style. I wouldn't drop ANY of our current first team to include him in it. Mahrez is far more dangerous, Kante and Drinkwater command their own positions and Albrighton is great at getting the ball in early. Would he come here to sit on the bench because, given our first team, I don't think he'd start. Isn't he more of a number 10/attacking midfielder? As others have said, I'd imagine Okazaki's position is where Sigurdsson would most likely play for us.

TJB-fox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Sigurdsson would be a great addition especially with the champions league in mind. We can't go to Benfica away and have 6% possession because Shinji keeps slipping over and losing the ball, at least Glyfi would help us keep the ball.

Benfica in the last 16 or QF's would be a good draw.
SB87_LCFC Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 What kind of money we talking for him!? Didn't Swansea pay big money from Spurs?
Sionnach gorm Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 A championship caliber player like Gylfi gets this many positives, while high quality players get negatives or barely any replies? I just don't get it.

WTF? He's been the star player for an established mid-table PL side in 3 seasons now. How is he Championship calibre? He's a pretty much no-gamble player who's proven himself to be a very good, consistent, player in the PL and we know would fit into our style of high work rate players - which is what our success has been built on after all, he's exactly the kind of player who would help us establish ourself as a top half club over a number of years and he'd fit into our style of play pretty easily you'd think. It'd be a very sensible and pretty risk-free signing imo.

foxes21 Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 he'd be useful if we need to control a game against teams that will sit back against us.
Steve Earle Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 He'd give us tactical options that we don't have currently. A true AM/no.10, could play instead of Shinji in our standard 4411 or as part of a 3 in a 4231. My Swansea supporting pal says he's their best player by a mile... My only reservation is that I really, REALLY would like to see Deeney here playing behind Vards in that 4411 formation, and I can't see us signing both...
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 I feel he has that creativity which could be ever so useful to us in that midfield role he plays. There are good points made as to whether he would be a first team regular, but he's certainly a player who would be good to have on board - increased quality in depth for both our PL and CL competitions next season.
TJB-fox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 I've just seen Gylfi Sigurdsson be described as 'championship caliber' I don't even know where to begin on that one
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 ....That's why mum's go to Iceland? lol this needs more repWould love Gylfi at Leicester, would be a great addition. Verdict: gerrimin

Finnegan Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 I've just seen Gylfi Sigurdsson be described as 'championship caliber' I don't even know where to begin on that one Oh foxestalk.
foxes21 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 would he accept being a rotation player though? Even if we sign him, we will still try to sign a main striker to play behind Vardy
Clever Fox Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 If we're going to compete on all fronts next season then we need a squad of at least 20 plus others, first team regulars who can drop in and out without of the team without and drop in quality or performance. Gylfi certainly fits that quality we need. He certainly fits the profile of player we like, hard working and a Team player.
