JerryLundegaard Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 What about Santa Clauses??? Only available in the Winter transfer window I believe.
Itsthejoeker Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Considering how reluctant Kante was coming to lcfc I'm not convinced he and his agent would have agreed to a £20mill+ release clause especially on the size of his transfer fee. Did he tell you he didn't want to come?
foxes161 Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Vardy release clause is only via another champions league club it seems
The Railway Man Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Did he tell you he didn't want to come? He told the World about fifteen times he wanted to go to Marseille, they just wouldn't match our bid. Then eventually it got to the point where it was Caen or Leicester so he had to come here, (after hanging on until the very last minute) we should enjoy this but let's pretend he wants to be here, we know he has far higher ambitions than Leicester despite us winning the league.
Babylon Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 What stupid dumb ass is agreeing to £20m release clauses for players that would cost £30-40m to replace ! Because they weren't worth £30-£40m when the contract was signed... plus, they might not have even signed the contract unless we agreed to a release clause. If someone had said last season that we'd sign Kante for £5m and sell him for £20m in less than a year, people would have thought it was great business at the time. I'm not sure anyone thought he was going to be THIS good, hindsight is a wonderful thing. Anyway... I'm totally ignoring all transfer talk this summer. We and our players have been THE hot topic of football worldwide this season. That comes with extra bullshit from agents, newspapers and football websites using us as click bait etc. If something happens, it happens.

ThaiFox Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 In other words wages = loyalty low wages = low loyalty No wages = No loyalty One thing you missed...... Agents = no loyalty too
st albans fox Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Since when was loyalty a marketable commodity? All you do when you pay more money is get a better class of mercenary. Loyalty is a quality that emerges when a bond is established between individuals with a common purpose or ethos. Sure money sweetens it but you're thinking along the lines that anyone or anything can be bought - that's the machiavellian approach. I would like to think the team/squad are what they are purported to be - a band of brothers - something above and beyond what's been the norm since the money men started buying our clubs for purposes other than creating great football. Football is awash with the worst kind of people - fly-by-night ego-driven managers, owners creaming off profit or using their club as a giant advertising hoarding, agents with an eye to feathering their own nests and players who have no sense of how shallow and greedy they are. I hope that Leicester had bucked that trend - that the players had actually established an elan all of their own - less undriven by celebrity and money and more inspired by what they might achieve together. We'll wait for the start of the new season to see whether that's a reality. We'll find out over the next 18 months wont we!! If we expect a professional sportsman to play for us then we need to pay him the going rate re his talent. If we ask him to stay because of who we are and for the 'team' ethos and for him to accept a lower salary than the market would pay him then I expect, in return, he will ask for a lowish buyout clause so that when he does decide to go, he can recover the 'lost earnings' via a chunky signing on fee at his new club. Only seems fair to me. The issue with vardy is that if he stays another season he reaches thirty. Very few big pay days for strikers post 30. N'golo and riyad can move onto a big deal in 18 months/ 2 years. I'm sure the club are on top of this. It's very complex and if we have identified replacements who walsh + co have confidence in then you may see some players leave over the next 8 weeks. Alternatively, we will hopefully hear only of renegotiated contracs.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 So we've gone from 'Twitchy Arse' over the title run in to now 'Twitchy Arse' over transfer speculation and conjecture. Can anyone tell me what good it does or difference it makes? The Don has said if someone's not happy and wants to go they go and in Don Claudio I trust.

Que sera sera Just trying to explain why apparent 'cheap' release clauses may exist for our more elite players. We've won the league. Dilly ding dilly dong. No season can ever live up to this one. I'm chilled

Sionnach gorm Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 I tend to think Ranieri made a good point. "We don't keep players who want to leave". If someone wants to leave so be it.
Foxxed Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Where's the VT of Kanté on his knees declaring his love for Marseille? Or did a reporter ask him if he likes Marseille and he responded "yes they are a good club. i would be happy there" and couldn't--fairly understandably--even pronounce or place Leicester on a map? This forum needs a [citation needed] plugin or something.
GaelicFox Posted 3 June 2016 Author Posted 3 June 2016 Bump ! If Vardy money happens then these buy out clauses might be the end of Rudkin ! Surely he carrys the can on these contracts ? Vardy's was negotiated while he was the hottest striker in the league !!!! Sloppy shite
EGBFitness Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Will be massively suprised if Vardy goes, out of all the players his one I'd imagine loves Leicester. When first heard the news I thought it was Kante so was kind of relieved when heard Vardy
lestajigs Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 IF this is true, Who ever did this release clause, he should be sacked!! No actually ****ing shot
Guest Papasmurf Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Or maybe the player wouldn't sign the contract without the release clause?

Vardy's was negotiated while he was the hottest striker in the league !!!! Sloppy shite He signed a new deal on 80k per week. Do you think there weren't clubs interested in Jan who would pay him more? He and his agent know that he is worth more than that. They sign the deal but their escape is a low release clause. If we had agreed 100k a week, then we could have insisted on 5 mill more. can't see how this isn't obvious. I would have insisted on a larger release fee if we won the league. As champions, we should be entitled to a larger fee would have been my argument. Might have got it through.

He has been hawked around london by his agent and Arsenal have bitten , John cross saying it will be done before euros start !

Manwell Pablo Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 part and parcel of football. Besides, if arsenal want to pay over 20 million pounds for him more power to them, doesn't suit their setup, he's 30 in January, he's had one outstanding season at top level I'd be listening regardless of a release clause, I can't ever see him bettering what he's done this year....sad to see him go but onwards and upwards for us. We've stated numerous times we only want players that want to be here, it's served us well this year, it's a policy we should be maintaining.
