weller54 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Andy King and the mighty Wales... Go on Kingy smash Vardy!!
Gforce19 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I have just come up with s positive spin on this whole situation just to try and heal the feelings of betrayal that are presently fvcking me off. Imagine you have gone back in time to this time last year, the fairy Godmother appears offering you the following. "You will win the EPL, you will qualify for the CL as champions , at the end of the season some of the players previously rated at between £1m-£10m will be sold for £20m+, the following season you will enjoy a European tour but finish mid table due to the replacement players being brought in needing bedding in time" No LCFC fan on this planet would have dreamed this up , it is too far fetched to dream of, yet it has just happened!!! So positive you posted it twice.. But yes, the "imagine the fairy Godmother appeared and offered the following..." is probably the best way to look at things. Can't fvcking believe it all the same... Knocked for six.
Oxfordlcfc Posted 4 June 2016 Author Posted 4 June 2016 The thing that dissapointes me is that we won the league we are in the champions league also in a prestigious tournament preseason if vardy, kante and mahrez go we are going to be in a situation where we are going to have to change the way we play which is going to take time let alone try and find replacements I think this season is going to be very strange
Bayfox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Vardy -> Arsenal 20 million quids Kante -> Real M 25 million quids we're rich! Winning the league 97 million. Our owners. 1.6 billion. Think we are already ready rich.
Monsell1976 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Simple answer to the question is yes, our owners aims are to make us a top club. We are not yet, so in the mean time, the bigger clubs will be able rob our players, maybe one day, we will be the better, bigger option for our players, and others.
Webbo Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Also, just occurred to me that we won't even have a player in the England team now. FFS... England only win tournaments when there's a Leicester player in the team FACT.
Sublime_Coatsworth Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Assuming Vardy leaves for the Arse, the MOST important thing the club needs to do is VERY quickly make these positive signings like Slimani in ASAP- to try and stop the rot.
Kendal Fox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 England only win tournaments when there's a Leicester player in the team FACT. Stone cold.

Yes. Really hope they know something we don't and that's why Vardy was virtually able to do a moonlight flit. Granted Arsenal met his release fee but you'd still think the club would have at least put out a public statement of some kind or other. Something along the lines of "Until Jamie makes it known that he wishes to leave, the release clause means nothing...."But no, nothing. Particularly as the magnitude of the title win is ony just being digested, surely they would want to be seen to try to change his mind? Like I said, hope they know something we don't, in a VERY positive way. Otherwise, I have to say I'm not only disappointed with Vardy for abandoning us, right now, out of the blue and on the eve of the Euros - How shit is that going to be for City fans watching the finals now? At least Kante has had the good grace to make it known that he will decide whether he stays or goes after the Euros - But also the club for not being bothered to at least be seen to be trying to stop the move.
waylander Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 In Claudio we trust replaced cambiasso and improved the team. Hope he stays but musa and slim could be the new Kante.
Col. Kurtz Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Vardy is just the first domino to fall. Kante and Mahrez will be soon to follow
STUHILL Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 In Claudio we trust replaced cambiasso and improved the team. Hope he stays but musa and slim could be the new Kante. Replaced Cambiasso with Inler... Steve Walsh is the man I trust most
FireFox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Replaced Cambiasso with Inler... Steve Walsh is the man I trust most You realize Inler was a Walsh signing, right?
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 If vardy does go then kante is out the door too Kanté will go either way IMO. Always thought he was the least likely to stay
Sharpe's Foxes Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 If Vardy goes then Mahrez and Kante are as good as gone. They can just point to Vardy leaving as the reason they left and they won't look like the villain they would be if they had left first.
eunmac Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Vardy should have a chat with RIckie Lambert before making this decision.
foxes161 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Kanté will go either way IMO. Always thought he was the least likely to stayRight now mahrez seems most likely to stay
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Right now mahrez seems most likely to stay Agreed but if Vardy goes followed by Kanté, Mahrez won't be far behind
FireFox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Does mahrez have a buyout clause too?No. But if he wants to go, we will let him. We can probably get 40m at least plus 40 from Kante and Vardy... Not enough to replace them but we can try.
Cropwellfox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I think getting some quality in quickly will be important to keeping Mahrez, would imagine Kante will be off regardless, please god not Arsenal again. if Southanpton can lose 2 or 3 players every season and keep building no reason we can't. Next few weeks will probably feel a bit shit especially if incomings are slow / don't happen but we've got to trust our owners and management team.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 No. But if he wants to go, we will let him. We can probably get 40m at least plus 40 from Kante and Vardy... Not enough to replace them but we can try. £80m return on £7m of investment is incredible business... but would still feel like a disaster
