North is a point, final blow, knockout =KO. In information =data, ko in data is Dakota and North Dakota is in the US.

They're not clever really, it's just lateral thinking.

Well explained Webbo, I'm in the same boat as DB11 and Marko.

Might start trying some easy ones online before advancing as I clearly need to improve my lateral thinking!

Yeah thats how I worked it out. Definitely didnt just guess from the letters given :whistle:

Um, would anyone mind explaining the line manager one? I'm also dreadful at cryptic crosswords.

So I can see queue = line and boss = manager but what the hell has a German got to do with it? lol

Manager = "a german" annagramised (upset).

 

One day I'll figure one of these out without seeing the word first.
