DJ Barry Hammond Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Convicted of tax fraud and given a 21 month jail sentence. I'd be astonished if he actually served any time of that behind bars though!
foxes_rule1978 Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Been convicted why should he get off and a normal person doesn't...
Nick Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Convicted of tax fraud and given a 21 month jail sentence. I'd be astonished if he actually served any time of that behind bars though! Wow - I wonder how this'll play out.
foxes161 Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 No he won't see any jail time Because it's not more than 2 years, and he has no criminal record
TheMightySystem Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Suspended sentence meaning if he commits any crime within the period he will go to prision. Dont know how true it is but skimmed over a tweet that any sentence below 2 years is a suspended sentence in Spain. Again dont know how true that is, any Spanish law experts?
Beliall Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Ridiculous. the money Messi must be worht and his dad thought it necessary to avoid 4.1mil
foxes_rule1978 Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 He has more money than I could ever dream of and feels the need to do that, what a joke! I'm sure he couldn't even spend it all. Certainly not off to jail though according to BBC Spanish law means anything under 2 years is a suspended sentence
J.Lisemore Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 With the amount of representatives footballers have nowadays, it wouldn't surprise me if he genuinely didn't know what was going on.
MC Prussian Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 what a despicable, greedy little man.Blame his old man for managing him into this situation, too.
AKCJ Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 With the amount of representatives footballers have nowadays, it wouldn't surprise me if he genuinely didn't know what was going on. Even if he did I think he'd be able to make a compelling enough case to convince the courts that he didn't.
ScouseFox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 With the amount of representatives footballers have nowadays, it wouldn't surprise me if he genuinely didn't know what was going on. yeah sure and pistorius didnt really mean to kill anyone and harry redknapps dog does have actual bank accounts and a wallet an that
J.Lisemore Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 yeah sure and pistorius didnt really mean to kill anyone and harry redknapps dog does have actual bank accounts and a wallet an that Is it really too hard to believe that Messi employs people to look after his money? I doubt he's ever had to check his bank account because its off the scale and he'll always be able to live within his means. Look at the bigger picture.
jammie82uk Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 What a day for news Pistorius gets at least 9 years knocked off his sentence for murder Messi avoids prison time despite affectively stealing 4 million euros from his government and Tony Blair gets no more then a slapped wrist for sending 179 soldiers to their deaths

Wasn't this brought up though and it turned out that he did know about it, hence the further investigation and now sentence? I'm pretty sure the court would have looked at the 'bigger picture'.

Scouse is less like to compliment Messi than he is Wales. Don't even bother.
ScouseFox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Scouse is less like to compliment Messi than he is Wales. Don't even bother. why would we be complimenting him? he is now a convicted criminal as well as quite clearly a horrible little scrote. just because he's good at footy it's ok? alright.

Pretty abhorrent the way you talk about people on the autistic spectrum tbh. I knew scousers were a bit backwards but that's vile really.

Are you implying that 'scrote' means someone with autism? Never knew it had those connotations. Anyway I really doubt that Messi knew what was going on. He repaid all of the tax plus interest in 2013.
GaelicFox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Pretty abhorrent the way you talk about people on the autistic spectrum tbh. I knew scousers were a bit backwards but that's vile really. Finners I love you to bits but your way out there buddy Scrote has no formal or informal connection to autism or spectrums of autism , or learning/cognitive difficulties for that matter It simply means shitbag
ScouseFox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 haha ye wtf scrote is just short for scrotum like the skin what your balls are in. he is a ballbag (messi not finners (maybe both tbf)).
GaelicFox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Ballbag , never heard that term I have huge balls , I was always embarrassed by them growing up lads a school called me Bull So really I have a sack , not a bag
ScouseFox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 also how can you say it was abhorrent to call someone what you assumed to be some kind of disability discriminatory insult and then say i was backwards hahaha. are you trolling finners?
TiffToff88 Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Maybe he knew deep down he may have to do time. That could explain why he decided to retire from international football when he did, so he could go out on his own terms Maybe he knew deep down he may have to do time.
