Beliall Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 Thierry Henry leaves Arsenal after rejecting under-18 coaching job By David Ornstein BBC Sport 1 hour ago From the sectionFootball Sharethis page Thierry Henry scored 228 goals across two spells for ArsenalThierry Henry has left Arsenal after rejecting the opportunity to coach the club's under-18 side. Henry, 38, was offered the role by Gunners manager Arsene Wenger, who told him he could not combine it with his existing role as a television pundit. The club's all-time leading scorer, who worked with Arsenal youth players as part of his Uefa A Licence course, was not prepared to give up his media work. Former Gunners captain Tony Adams, 49, will take the role with the under-18s. His former central-defensive partner Steve Bould will remain as Wenger's assistant manager while another ex-player, Freddie Ljungberg, will work with the under-16s. Henry must now find a team to coach in order to complete his Pro Licence. The former France forward is employed as a television pundit by Sky Sports, and worked for BBC Sport during Euro 2016. He needs an under 18's job, we just lost our coach, how good would this be?

Could it be that the media work interfered with his ability to give the position the time that it requires?
Beliall Posted 12 July 2016 Author Posted 12 July 2016 Maybe, but perhaps henry thinks he can do both. others do
MPH Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 Maybe, but perhaps henry thinks he can do both. others do I guess it matters most what the employer thinks, not the employee. Maybe it could work.. maybe he'll find a job at somewhere that has a lot of good coaches already in place! Hopefully at Leicester!!
VLC86 Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 Maybe, but perhaps henry thinks he can do both. others do Jierry Hardy?

foxy boxing Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 I think leicester already has enough va va vroom maybe he can become a strikers coach you know the one Kevin Phillips used to do for is?
gw_leics772 Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 As the subject says, could Henry be our new striking coach? Or even replace Iniago Idiakez? http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36774563 He needs a new club, and if we could allow him to continue his tv roles it would be another kick in the teeth for Arsenal, and i dont think he'd be too shabby either on the coaching staff. I think it could be a great move, nothing touted but worth a thought surely? Dont know whether under 16s would work for his pro licence but i dont recall us specifically replacing super kevs role. Thoughts?
gw_leics772 Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 But this is a question about leicester, dont care where else he might work but ill take a look
Out Foxed Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 But this is a question about leicester, dont care where else he might work but ill take a look but he's not been linked
themightyfin Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 There is no link with him to Leicester why is this even a thread? Time to lock
gw_leics772 Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 Forum equals opinion and discussion, if you want confirmed news, wait for the official site. Is this really less relevant for discussion than an inflatable dinosaur?

Is this really less relevant for discussion than an inflatable dinosaur? That's just bullying.....bringing in a poor defenceless dinosaur into the convo What has he done to you? And at least he had a connection to Leicester city in a Leicester city forum topic Henry has none Are you an Ostrich?
Tuna Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 He's lazy and greedy. The fact he'd rather sit on the sofa than advance his coaching career says it all about his character and aambition. And let's not forget his handball antics while we're at it.
gw_leics772 Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 Apologies for bringing another random thread to be railroaded off on a tangent. I think im gonna bow out now. Apologies to the dinosaur, wherever he may he ;o)

And let's not forget his handball antics while we're at it. Or he just thinks wengers playing hardball and mixed his priorities. Shoeing who is boss to distract people from the fact that giroud has been his main striker for FAR too long? He certainly wouldn't be the only one his is worried that Arsene might be losing the plot and wants to distance himself. Maybe hes wondering why super kev has made assistant and hes left with a shit youth side for a team that would rather break transfer records to play tgem on the reserves.
ScouseFox Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 Good player =/= good coach. sexy player = sexy coach tho
Wortho Posted 13 July 2016 Posted 13 July 2016 I think this says more about Wenger than anyone. Wenger seems to acting spitefully because Henry dared to criticise his team. It's a nonesense that Henry wouldn't have time to coach the under 18's. Now they are stuck with Tony Adams, who hasn't had much success previously. But, he speaks very slowly so he must be intelligent.
