Exactly, that's why Watford turned down our £20m+ Deeney bids and £40m bid from Shanghai for Ighalo. We obviously had no choice over anyone with a release clause if they wanted to go which Kante did & Vardy didn't and we've not had any interest for Mahrez

He's 3rd choice left back, 5th choice left mid and 7th choice striker. 5th choice left mid? lol... Yet we were crying out for this supposed 5th choice left wing after Gray handed in that shocking display at Hull, someone who receives the ball and runs with it, rather than putting foot on ball, looking up & make an awful pass, like the rest of the team did A squad is about a mixture of skills, Schlupp has many shortcomings & if we wants to go to get a starting place fair play to him but when he runs with the ball stuff happens

Then bring in a better player and fail the ffp. We have to sell some weak links to improve or go backwards. I just don't see Schlupp as a weak link? From what I've seen thus far, he offers far more of a threat than spaff spaff Gray. Both defensively and going forward. To date, Gray's first touch is worse than Jeff's! I don't say that very often.

We couldn't buy Mahrez for 400K now when we can easily sell Jeff for 12m, in fact we can see from the prices in this media money era that you can't get much for 12m. And Mahrez wages are 5m this year alone. If you can't see how this weakens our squad then you are too simple for me to explain, but I'll try - Squad player out - non squad player comes in - that makes the squad weaker. as for your ranking of him in our squad you are being a clown.

Tell me what happened when Gray put his foot on the ball and ran with it ten seconds into the second half. Stuff does happen when Jeff runs with it. These things are usually goal kicks.
Foxes1 Posted 16 August 2016 Posted 16 August 2016 Jeff is OK providing he doesn't have to think about what he's going to do. When he has to think then we are in trouble.

But we've brought Gray and Kapusta in. We've bought them both in and they've both over taken him. We've now received a giant offer for someone who is so low down in our squad that we've accepted as it helps pay for the others. By the way, I got one thing wrong. Jeff is 6th choice left mid. I forgot Musa can play there. Left back Fuchs Chilwell Left wing Mahrez Albrighton Gray Kapustka Musa Striker Vardy Musa Ulloa Okazaki Mahrez Gray

Albrighton could be compared as a wing back but he is a crosser of the ball not a runner with the ball - if you think he is then Jeff is better. Kapustska is behind all 4 of the others and if you are saying he isn't you're living in a youtube fantasy. How many minutes have you watched Kapusttska play? He's behind Lawrence from what I've seen. Anyway we're not going to agree so I'll leave it here. Too many people are Jeff blind on this forum.

I get all that, I get all criticisms of Schlupp, I've done more than my fair share of them, but we needed pace & directness in that Hull game & Schlupp wasn't even on the bench Thank F that Huddlestone did kick Gray for us to win a FK which the ref gave a penno for because that was the only way we'd score if we were still playing that game now The only players who are ahead of Schlupp are Albrighton & Mahrez, Schlupp could come on every game. Gray has proved nothing, especially in his first Prem start away at a side tipped to be well bottom........ and as for Kapustka? Who knows

Who knows I agree... from what I've seen so far our wingers should be: 1. Mahrez 2. Albrighton 3. Schlupp / Gray 4. Kaputzka Gray is good to bring on when we have a lot of possession but there is no-one better to bring on than Schlupp when we have the opportunity to counter attack. His pace and powered scares the fu*k out of defenders. Pulis knows his stuff. In fact I would say there aren't many better than Schlupp who can take the ball past his man and whip in a decent low cross
dylanlegend Posted 16 August 2016 Posted 16 August 2016 I just hope this is about first team football and we want to keep him. Next Summer it's likely Mahrez will leave and suddenly (unless Gray/ Kaputzka step up massively) our wing options will look quite poor

Those 4 aren't well above him. If any of Albrighton, Gray or Kapustka lose some form who will be first in line to replace them. is it really worth going into a champions league campaign with us only knowing what 2 of those wingers can consistently give us? Complete madness if we let Schlupp go

I've thought for a long time that Schlupp is the most under-rated and under-valued player by this forum in general. Yes he can do some daft things. He can also be a very dangerous player given the right circumstances. I'm genuinely surprised the club are even considering selling him. Doesn't he also count as 'home grown' for the Champions League? As in, come up through our own ranks? Not sure on that one.

AFAIK he counts as home grown & we're struggling to meet the required quota with or without him

Ranieri's team selections have made that perfectly clear.
lgfualol Posted 16 August 2016 Posted 16 August 2016 If Schlupp played for someone else would anyone here be happy paying £12m for him?

No it's not. It's your opinion. We've had 1 game and Schluup wasn't on the bench because of this sale. It was nothing to do with how he is ranked within the team's structure.

What you call inco0nsistent might be not full match sharp or match fit. there isnt really a way of knowing...

If that's the price. it's certainly a player type that we wouldn't have if he wasn't there. He can cover multiple positions from the bench. If he leaves then I'd be willing to pay that to get him back.
